I went in on Saturday afternoon for an interview and started work today at Michaels!! How cool is that? I wonder if they can just pay me in cardstock and store credit?
Ahhhhhh!!! Congratulations! I'm so jealous!! How wonderful to be able to work someplace you love so much!! You'll have to keep us posted on secrets, tips & special deals!
When I told my mom I had an interview there, she exclaimed that I wouldn't make any money! Even the manager that hired me said she spent a lot of her money there!
Hey, will work for eyelets!
Today was my first day and so far it wasn't too bad. I'm tired, thogh, since this is my first time back to a permanent job in over 3 years. And best of all the boys didn't miss me that much...or is that a bad thing?! :?
Whooo Hoooo, Good for you!!!! Hope you enjoy the new job. How fun to be working at a place where your creativity is involved. Keep us posted on any great deals.
Congratulations! I just started a craft-oriented job, too, working part-time at a candle store that sells hand carved candles. I love candles, and burn scented ones in my house. This store's draw is the candles' craft and appearance, though, rather than the fragrance. Today's my third shift, and this evening I should finally be able to start learning how to carve!
Congrats, Emily! I know my store is also hiring for instructors. Actually, they are hiring for almost any position. My manager said it is because of the time of year when many employees go back to school.
I was amazed at how fast it all happened. I turned in my application along with resume and references on Thursday, they called Friday and scheduled the interview for Saturday and I started Sunday! I'm training for the Front End Supervisor job and the girl who is training me is leaving in two weeks after working there for three years. Too bad because she is really cool. All the fellow employees I met yesterday were great. Now I'm in the new job stress stage. So much to learn, so much responsibility.

Wow! A supevisor! I was wondering what job you applied for! Sounds like you'll be working hard than me!
I'm sure you'll do a great job and that the other employees will have a fun time working with you!!
Thanks, WaterPixie! I could use a bit of encouragement right now. I'm sure I will do fine, I'm just the type of person who wants to do a good job no matter the task. Plus, being a newby and having previous experience, I feel like I have something to prove.
