My New Year Resolution is to work on my scrapbooks this year, so will share some poetry I have collected to put into them. First bunch is some handprint type poetry -- in one of the threads on SCS, I ran across a request, so . . .

Handprint Poem.
Author Unknown.

Sticky fingers and big wet kisses
Dirty toes and stars with wishes
Splashing through puddles and hugs too tight
Afternoon naps and sleepless nights
I’m growing so fast, I’ll soon be grown
So I’ve made you this handprint for your very own.
So tuck it away and keep it, please
So years from now I can see
How much I changed as time went by
And you can always remember my
Sticky fingers and big wet kisses
Dirty toes and stars with wishes!!!

Tiny Handprints
Author Unknown.

Tiny handprints grow so fast
Their awkward groping soon will clasp
A ball, a book, a sweetheart’s hand
A diploma, briefcase, wedding band.

Tiny handprints grow so strong
It doesn’t take them very long
To snap a shirt, to paint, to draw
To labor hard, to drive a car.

Tiny handprints grow to be
A person that is quite unique
A wonderful mix of so many things
With his own feelings, thoughts and dreams.

Tiny handprints grow to rely
On his parents to bring him up just right
His parents pray that when he’s grown
He’ll say their job has been well done.

Tiny handprints are ours to love
The sweetest gift from God above
A miracle that never is surpassed
How sad they grow up way too fast.

Handprints on the Wall.
Author Unknown.

One day as I was picking
The toys up off the floor,
I noticed a small handprint
On the wall beside the door.

I knew that it was something
That I’d seen most every day,
But this time when I saw it there
I wanted it to stay.

Then tears welled up inside my eyes,
I knew it wouldn’t last
For every mother knows
Her children grow up way too fast.

Just then I put my chores aside
And held my children tight.
I sang to them sweet lullabies
And rocked into the night.

Sometimes we take for granted,
All those things that seem so small.
Like one of God’s great treasures.
A small hand print on the wall.

Scrapbooking Idea: diecut/sticker of baby bear next to baby photo of child -- then a taller child one -- verse about child grew with wisdom (Luke 2:40), this poem at bottom, next to a measuring tape clipart/diecut

Jesus Grew Just Like Me
God made the little babies
Who grow up just like me
He makes each little nose,
And eyes so they can see.
He makes them so they grow, grow, grow.
God is so wonderful
We do love him so!

Little Feet
Author Unknown.

Two little feet, ten little toes
Leave their impressions today.
Soon they will wear two little shoes
And be running and jumping at play.
Two little feet, too little time
Before they are walking to school . . .
Kicking a rock or skipping a rope
Wading a puddle or jumping a pool.
Two little feet, one little child
Will soon go their own way
But footprints in my mind recall
They stood here yesterday.
