Default How do you do this?

I'm trying to figure something out on page 168 of the new catty, the scrapbook page. The recipe in the back says that several different classic pads were used and a watercolor brush, but it doesn't really have the look of something done with watercolor. Any clues exactly how it was done?

Hi Jessica,

It looks like they stamped the frame and flowers on US Vanilla. They used the water color brush and dipped into the ink pads and colored the frame with the brown, yellow, blue and green. It doesn't look water colored because of the patten on the stamped image is dark. I think they stamped the images in one of the browns. I hope this helps.

Kar you so need to become a demo and get the discount...how long will you have to wait to get anything from your wish list since you are all buying the family farm? And do you have any pics of it? What will you raise? Dairy cows? Isn't WI known for cheese?LOL...I have a friend that his family is from WI and they bring him something called cheese curds or something like that...He loves them...he says they are sorta squeaky in his teeth...do you know what I am talking about? I still haven't had a chance to try them!! LOL

Kar, I'm right there with Keri. If you play your cards right (can you tell I love VEGAS) anyway, you might be able to fulfill your wishlist at a great savings.

Sorry...that was my fault...I got all excited talking about cheese...how crazy is that!

It looks like watercoloring...like someone said earlier in the post, the stam has darker spots on it and it takes away from the watercolor look.

This SB samle was also one that "jumped out" at me when I first got the catalog. My thoughts on how they did it is that the stamp is stamped with close to cocoa classic ink onto barely banana cs. Then they watercolored the other colors (the leaves and flowers) with watercolor brush & inks. It is beautiful and striking.
I also wanted to comment on why they don't put a better desription in the back of how a project was done. I feel as a demonstrator that I like my customers having to ask me those questions!

Well this is not what the thread started as but ya Cheese Curds are awesome, and squeaky cheese is the best. If anyone comes by me we have this little cheese factory that makes it's own cheese curds, cheddar cheese and Colby cheese too... Usually I go and buy the cheese when it is fairly "young" which is made not long ago, it will be squeaky then when you eat it. Wisconsin is famous for it's Colby cheese, which Colby Wisconsin is only 10 min or so from me.

Default Demonstrator Discounts

Keri or Michelle- I see you suggested that Kar become a demonstrator to get her wish list items at a discount. Now, I can't do that anytime soon, but I was wondering if you could let me know any details about that as far as how much of a discount and any other incentives that demonstrators get? I am considering this for the future, and this info would be helpful! Thanks so much!

ps-Keri, Congrats on the baby!

Yes, Keri is a great help. I am hoping to become a demo by the end of the year. We did just get an appraisal on the farm and my head is literally spinning from the $$$ amount... Just hard to imagine going into debt that far. I told hubby if his parents didn't have the paperwork done by the middle of Sept. I am going to sign up INSTANTLY!!! (His mom is a control freak!!! She never wants anyone to do anything without her saying it should be done!!)
