What BG stamp do you recommend? I don't own any!
I am going to purchase my very first background stamp on my next order. I am thinking the Canvas one. Which would you recommend and why?

I have 3, I think...but my favorite is French Script. I have used it more than any other. I've found a lot more uses for it here on SCS than I imagined when I bought it.

I have about 10 of them but #1 choice is Canvas--so versatile. I also love French Script and Soft Swirls.
Have Fun!

I LOVE Canvas, and use it all the time. I also love Stipple Plaid, because it's so versatile. It's great for masculine cards, and always turns out great.

As this is your first b/g stamp, I vote for Canvas. It is very subtle and gives nice texture to your work.
Note: my canvas b/g isn't big enough to ink up a full quarter sheet of CS like most of my other b/g stamps.
My second favorite is French Script but don't forget the fabulous Paisly Print. Even my husband likes Paisly.
Have fun choosing!

  I guess I'm the odd ball here
I like Simple Stripes and versamark for most of my floral cards (which I seem to do the most)
But, I am having fun with Canvas
Hard decision, I know. I say, get them ALL

I own and love too many to narrow it down to just one. And, I gravitate to many different styles, ranging from classic, victorian, flora, to retro, whimsical, etc. So, I just keep adding as I go.
Take a look at what you have already in your collection and choose the one that would most support what you have in the way of style.
For example, lots of victorian, elegant floral stuff? Choose Filigree or French Script.
Lots of florals, cute/whimsical? Choose Canvas.
Lots of masculine style stuff? Choose Just Jeans.
Lots of retro style stuff? Choose Geometric.

You need at least two BG stamps! Canvas and French Script!! Next in my order of preference would be Soft Swirls, Just Jeans, Paisley, By Definition, and On Safari.
I have all the above, and I'd love to get Simple Stripes and Stipple Plaid, but I'm waiting for the Retirement List to come out before I get one (or both!) of those.

I'm like lots of other ladies. I love the canvas, soft swirls and french script. Just got By Defination and sinple stripes is on my wishlist. I would have never even considered buying that background stamp until I saw samples on SCS.

I only own 2 BG's - Canvas and French Script and couldn't live without either (okay...an exaggeration, but life definitely wouldn't be as cute without them!)

My top three favorites are canvas, just jeans & french script. The first two background stamps add a little texture to the paper and the script looks really nice w/ nature stamps.

I have the Canvas one so far, but will be ordering Paisley (which I have liked since way before SCS went paisley crazy!) and French Script soon. I like Canvas for floral-type and Victorian-looking cards, but was recently thinking it would look super-cute with a sewing-themed card. It does look an awful like needlepoint material!

I'm gonna be an oddball here and throw in Groovy Line BG. I LOVE IT!
Of course, I also have french script, canvas, swirls & blossoms...
I agree with JulieHRR- see what style stamps you gravitate to and pick from there!
Have fun!

That's funny, mine is. :? How long ago did you order it? I'd ask for a replacement.

Canvas is on my list, but I have the By Definition and like it pretty well. The other one I just got was the soft swirls, haven't used it yet though.

Ooooo...thanks, Candace, I did not know this. Now why didn't my demo tell me this? Other than she thinks I spend too much money already?
This is definitely being added to my April order!
