I am SHOCKED at what just happened. The girl that copied my picture and used it on Ebay without my permission, just emailed me using a new email address requesting my patterns. After I sent them to her (not knowing it was her) she emailed me back a thank you with her standard signature line which is posted below (along with her other aliases):

I have also removed her picture.
The blood is boiling in Wisconsin tonight. I am so mad, I sent her an email back that wasn't all that nice, it could have been a lot worse but I refuse to lower myself to her standards.
Anyway, I caution you all to be on the look-out for any of her names.
Hello, just reading your thread... unsure if what entirely happened but noticed that her address was Barberton Ohio. I graduated from high school there and that is like a hop, skip, and jump away from my home now! I also knnow a demonstrator that lives there.
I'm sorry this happened to you and understand how upsetting the situation is, but I believe the moderators had it right when they suggested that you try to work it out with her yourself.

Well, that sure is NOT nice! I'm still abit confused about what she's really sold though, is it an auction for a "gift certificate" and/or the makings for the little purse (your purse...) and accessories?
As a SU demo myself, is that even permissable to sell a SU gift certificate on ebay?
Please update on any replies from this character...I'll bet they'll be something really interesting. Just remember...cheaters don't prosper!
Holy crap - I've read the other threads on this and I can't believe the gall this chick has. It's one thing to CASE - it's a whole nother thing to scan the EXACT same thing and then SELL it on e-bay!!!
Sorry - I'm just ticked at this whole situation - every other SCS'er I've ever heard from or talked to is sooo great and it sucks when there's a bad apple out there making things stink for the rest of us!!!

Sorry if I've offended anyone w/ my comments but this needs to be out in the open for everyone to see. Stampin' Ink has been treated VERY unfairly and I'm glad she's posted all the info so that the rest of us aren't taken in. I hope this all comes to a head soon.
Ok- i feel really lost... what exactly happened? She has copied a design of yours and is trying to sell it on ebay? If she in fact lives where she said, that is right around the corned from my town. Just curious what she's done. Sorry I must have really missed something.
I am sorry for what's happened, really I am. I also know how frustrating it has to be, to feel like you have no recourse.
But can everyone please stop with the public lynching that's going on here? It really serves no purpose other than to further the bad feelings and get everyone else involved. I know you are angry, and you probably have every right to be, however, In my (very humble) opinion, this is a matter between you and the other person, not one for the public forum.
I hope you are able to get resolution to this.

I totally feel for you and if it happened to me I, too, would be fuming! I'm certain you must feel personally attacked and violated.
However, I agree with Alicia. It isn't any better to post her personal info here, along with her picture. In fact, on some boards this would be cause to have your account revoked! :( I'm certain you have the best intentions, trying to keep others from being treated the way you have been treated, but I urge you to edit your post to not include her personal info to safeguard yourself.

You have every right to be angry, but please try to resolve this matter with this woman privately. The responses to this post are clearly motivated by sympathy for your situation, but they are very uncharitable.
Maybe everyone is right here about the lynch mob, BUT, I personally am glad the info is availabe so that others are aware and are not taken advantage of.

The thing is, the only person who knows the full truth of her motives and reasons is that person. We have no idea -- we can only speculate.
Frankly, as I said above, I'm more worried about the poster covering her own tuckus. Her post, that gives out all sorts of personal info, can be seen as contributing to any harrassment the ebayer may have to endure. And if she's not 100% sure of the info she has posted, it could also be seen as defamation of character.
I have removed her personal info. I would/will remove her picture too if someone can tell me how to remove the picture from the orginial post.
What I don't understand is why it's so wrong for me to put all the information in a breif list. When all the information I have she has posted herself and anyone that wants to look can find it easy enough.

I'm with you. I really am. Like I said, I'm certain you have the best of intentions -- just trying to help others out. But if she is the kind of person willing to do to you what she has done, I promise you she is also the kind of person who can/would make life very difficult for you if she had the opportunity. Don't put yourself in a situation where she can take advantage of your anger and hurt feelings. You have every right to be angry and to want to expose her for the fraud she is, but she can "get you back," and you don't want that.

While I don't give two figs for the woman that is doing this to you, I would HATE that there would be possibly be ramifications for you if she did decide to make this more ugly than she has.

Amy - I'm with you.
Why not make everyone aware of her "alias'" so everyone can watch out for her and not do business with her.
She could (and probably is) reading all of this and I think it would be nice for her to see how everyone feels about what she did.

Public lynchings do us no credit as a stamping community. This issue has been THOROUGHLY aired in several prior threads & the moderators have suggested that it be resolved privately. Let's get back to stamping.
OK, the issue about posting personal info that could warn others about someone not following SU/ebay rules aside, am I reading this situation correctly? Did this person actually /alledgedly (I didn't see this thread before it was edited so I have no idea who it is):
1) Break SU rules by selling current merchandise/ebay gift certificate
2) break ebay's rules by stealing a picture from somewhere else
3) sold an item on ebay that they did not actually have (which I am assuming is why she asked for the pattern AFTER she sold the item) - also against ebay's rules
4) Created an alias to get information on how to make the item that she was doubly not allowed to seel on ebay from the very person that she stole the picture from
OMG! That lady must have some huge set of b@lls! LOL!
Stampin Ink, I am sorry that you have somehow been pulled into this by no fault of your own. That lady is, as my 5 yo would say, "not a nice lady!"
I am so glad that you found out who it was and I don't blame you for posting her info. If she had enough nerve to steal your creation and put it on e-Bay and then turn around and e-mail you for the pattern, than I think you have EVERY right to post her info on SCS for all to see who the theif is. JMO!
Couldn't she be turned into SU for breaking their rules, I mean if you have her information, it would be easy to do and they would know at least one demo selling on e-bay. I am not even sure if you have done this or not, however, it could put an end to all of this and maybe you could get some relief from being deceived. Just a thought.

No, she has not made any attempt to apologize. But she new where to find me to request the patterns. She wanted the patterns bad enough she took the time to create a new email address.

Please explain how this will prevent anyone else from getting hurt? Reading all these posts will not prevent someone from having their images stolen and used improperly.
I reiterate: I completely agree that this demo should NOT have copied your picture for her own gain. I think we can all agree on that. You have EVERY right to be frustrated and angry. I think we can all agree on that. But I still stand by my belief that posting this publicly serves no purpose whatsoever. It just gets everyone riled up and creates a lot of negativity, and makes you appear to be vindictive, which is really too bad, because I am sure that you are a very kind and generous and loving person.

This is such an interesting discussion, even beyond the theft issue. If someone took a photograph of something I had made and then used it to profit by, I would certainly take it personally. As a bystander, I also want to be very careful to avoid someone who would do such a thing. Posting personal information is tricky, and we benefit by having calmer minds focus on the greater good (and that's what good manners are for--to get us through the bad times), yet SCS and especially Ebay are very public arenas.
Its funny, too, for me to buy stamp sets and supplies that are created in the thousands, make something, and think I did something original. We are all casing, and casing out, I suspect. But photographs have ownership. Does anyone still want to post their work on SCS if there is no way to protect oneself from being taken advantage of, as in this case?
I'll be watching this post still love the items whose picture was stolen--I saw it when the picture when it first came in and put it in My Favorites!

I don't usually chime in on these (though I confess to *loving* reading about them!), but I liken the situation to this:
Posting her info for the SCS neighborhood is like people knowing about a sex offender living in their neighborhood...it might not keep him (or her) from attacking us or our children (as this woman could still steal from anyone here in this neighborhood), but it would make us VERY PROTECTIVE and AWARE. We can't personally do anything about the sex offender either (as someone said we can't do anything about this woman), but we still like to know when there is a criminal in our midst.
I also think that she should know that people are on to her...really gets my goat to think that she's all smug thinking she's so smart...

I don't know that anyone's been "offended" necessarily, at least I hope not. but that's not really the point of our policy. there are two reasons we don't allow derogatory postings containing personal information.
first, it creates a negative atmosphere. these types of topics tend to feed on themselves and escalate. in the end you tend to get a lot of animosity and bitterness with no real benefit.
in this case it's regrettable that this happened, but there's very little this site or any other site can do if someone wants to re-use an image that you've posted in a public place. it's simply the nature of the web; my kids, for instance, love to use Google Images - instant gratification whenever they're looking for horse pictures or heaven knows what else. but it's probably safe to assume that the owners of these (or any other) images have no idea where they ultimately end up or how they're used.
second, these types of posts are not fair to the "target", guilty or no. rumors and accusations are easily planted and impossible to eradicate. we don't conduct public trials here, and I have no desire to start. the motivations and actions of the accused individual frequently cannot be known, leading to speculation and further rumors. in the end, a public airing of private disputes is just not appropriate in my view.
whether someone has a "right" to share private information or engage in this type of discussion isn't in question. anyone has a "right" to talk about whatever they wish. we've just made a conscious decision that our public square isn't the place to share personal information with a negative intent. you didn't intend for us to RAK this individual, after all.
