there is anyone who is less thrilled than they expected to be with the Cuttlebug or similar machines? I expect to get mine later this week according to the UPS tracking which I check hourly
But, I have to pre-cut my dies. Otherwise, I won't pull it out. Probably because I want to just 'grab' an embellishment without stopping to 'make it'. So I sit down with a pile of chipboard and cut out every die I have in multiples, bag them up and they are ready to go. I use white chipboard so I can leave it as is, stamp it, or cover it with DP or CS as I am making the card. So far, with this system, I am loving the bug!
I just got a big shot for Christmas and let me just say...OMG this thing ROCKS..i yhink DH is a little jelous of my love affair with it;0
I can't get over how easy it is compared to my quickutz!!!!! Can you tell I LOVE it???!!!!!
I agree with all of the above posters! The first time I rolled that "Red Tag" alpha die through and the letters just fell out of the card stock, I thought I might die from happiness. (pun intended)

I have several friends who have had Sizzix machines, and I couldn't ever understand what all the fuss was about. When the 'bug came along resistance was indeed futile. Amazingly, it has exceeded my expectations! I never dreamed I could use the fiskars texture plates that have been gathering dust for several years. I love, love, love my cuttlebug!

I just bought a bug yesterday at the Mikes' in Delaware. Had my 50% off coupon, and my boss gave me a 40$ gift card, so I paid zippo for the little guy!! Life doesn't get any better than that!! Now....to learn how to use the thing~!!! Karen
I haven't received my BS yet, but I know I'm already in love But I was disappointed in the Cricut and already took it back. I'm in the minority but I wasn't that impressed with it. The idea of it was cool, but the sticky mat is a PAIN!!!

Resistance is futile  !! This is my first such device, never thought I'd want/use anything like this ... but I LOVE it. The embossing is crisp, precise, very professional looking!! $40 with Mike's 50% coupon... did I mention I LOVE it?? :-D

(I can't believe I had that wrong all this time!!)
I was never slightly interested in any of the machines. But I had to get a Cuttlebug. I could actually afford the machine and the dies. I also love cutting out alphabets. I used to stamp on stickers and cut them out for my scrapbook pages. I'm really loving the embossing folders.
It's my first machine that die cuts/ and or embosses. It's nicer than I thought, and I can't wait to get more time to play. That's my plan for tomorrow. It's so easy. The machine is very sturdy, yet doesn't take up much space.

My DH got me one for Christmas. I'm in heaven. I never felt the need for a die-cut machine before, but I was enthralled with the embossing folders. And they have lived up to my expectations and more!!!! I can see my stamping and cardmaking going to a whole new level.

Live in the moment and make it so beautiful it's worth remembering.
No regrets. I used it tonight for the first time and I so like it. I was using the dies/folders with my red Sizzix but I do like them better in the CB.

I love my Big Shot and feel that it was an investment well worth every dollar.
I loved the idea of dry embossing the fronts of my cards but was not very happy with the results I was getting with a stylus and a lightbox, not to mention not being able to dry emboss dark cardstock. When I found out that there were embossing machines and embossing folders that could resolve all those issues I was so happy to jump on board with everyone else. I use both the Cuttlebug and Big Shot embossing folders and get a more crisp and pretty image than I ever did with a stylus and lightbox. It really has opened up a new level of creativity for me and an added bonus was discovering the world of die cutting, too. So the answer to your question is that the Big Shot has exceeded my expectations and I am so glad to have it.
Santa brought me a Cuttlebug for Christmas and I really like it. I'm getting rid of my Sizzix machine but keeping al the templates, etc. I had an experimental day yesterday trying out the Sizzix stuff with the CB and they worked great. Here is a great link for you to check out also. Cat did lots of work to create a Cuttlebug Sandwich Stacks reference document. It really helped me!
I bought my CB Saturday with a 50% off Mike's coupon and a gift certificate. I never thought I would want a die cutting machine until I started seeing the cards done with it on SCS; I was particullary impressed with the embossing. I could not believe the ease in using it with both the embossing folders and the dies. If you get one you will love it too!

I just got mine for Christmas, but like what I see so far. I think that everyone is in the honeymoon stage at this point, if you really want to see if this toy will stand the test of time, wait 6 months.
I love it! The embossing is the best part about it. This said, I still am in a quandry as to how to get word die cuts for it. I love, love, love the ABC set Olivia because it came with thanks and hi. I really want a happy birthday, thinking of you, etc. and haven't found them yet. Has anyone else?
