CUTTLEBUG !!!
Finally got my cuttlebug yesterday and am totally hooked! I absolutely love it! It is so simple to use!
I do have a couple of questions that I'm not sure of.....
1. When do you use the "C" Board? So far I've only been using "A" "B" & "B"
2. Silly questions, when I cut something, it leaves an impression on the "B" board. Is this normal? Just want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong.
Thanks for clearing up my confusion!!!

I haven't used C either.
yep, cutting leaves impression on "B". I freaked a bit but I suppose it is normal.
Btw, I got my bug past weekend!

If you look in the little booklet that came with your bug, they give you a scenario in which you would use your 'C' plate, but I havent had to yet...there is another thread here I'll post the link below that give "sandwiching" guides, and it looks like the 'C' Plate is hardly used, as it may be a little too thick.
Here's the thread: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Enjoy your new bug!!

Ok, one more question!
I ran some alphabet dies through (maybe 4 times) and now my "B" board is slightly warped. Is that normal? How long do the "B" Boards generally last?

Totally normal. They'll last a long time -- you can just turn it over and run it through and that helps with the warp. Just keep using both sides -- you'll get plenty of life from it.

The "C" plate is for brass or thin stencils. I used a cardboard shim along with it to emboss with our SU classy brass stencils. I did some mini note cards with the snowflakes stencil that came out pretty cute.

I really want to get one of these. I tried to use JoAnns 40% off coupon, but it wouldn't let me! The coupon said it couldn't be used on the Cricut, but it didn't say anything about the Cuttlebug. *sigh*. I guess I'll just have to wait for a sale!

Is there a Jo-ann or Mike that you can physically go?
The cashier wouldn't allow me to use the coupon at Mike's. Finally I made her call the supervisor & I was given the discount. The box says "Makers of Cricut" and many get confused by that.
Good luck!

I got one for Christmas and haven't had time to play with it yet. I can't
wait to try it!! My husband used the 40% coupon at Michaels to get it.

I had a problem using the 50% off coupon at Michaels to purchase the Cuttlebug. They say it cannot be used on any cricut products. I explained to them that they are 2 different machines and they honored the coupon. I wen the next day to buy the alphabets and had no problem with the coupon. I think because the Cuttlebox says "By the makers of the Cricut" there seems to be some confusion. Just stick to your ground and insist that they are 2 different machines!

Oooh I used my C board with my fiskars embossing plates and a piece of embossing rubber from Sizzix works perfectly! Now I have all this textured cardstock. Hmmmm what to do with it?

The store employees don't seem to have been informed by management ( poor management/training, IMHO) that the Cricut AND the Cuttlebug are both made by Provo Craft. BUT, the Cricut (machine/accessories) is the one specifically referenced in the fine print of the exclusion on the coupon; NOT the Cuttlebug.
Once you (politely--altho some of them ignore you and may even become irritable towards you, and, then you have to resort to less than politely) point that out to them, and they scan the coupon, it goes through just fine.
Like she said above: STAND YOUR GROUND. ;)

The closest JoAnns (20 mins) actually STOPPED carrying stamping and scrapbooking stuff (the horror!). So I'd have to drive about an hour to Green Bay to get to a JoAnns or Mikes that would have the Cuttlebug. I just dropped $100 on a p-touch labeler this afternoon though, so maybe I should wait on this purchase... Of course if I wait they might wise up and start putting this in the fine print on the coupon too!

After seeing everyone's beautiful work here at SCS, I just have to have it.

Can you get the Mike's coupon at Mike's? The closest store to me is an hour away, so I'm not on their mailing list...

Nuts! How do you get them? I signed up for a mailing list on their website, but I think it's only emails, not paper mail...

I just came from Michaels and they have all Sizzix die cuts on sale at 50% off. This is so much better than the coupon because you can purchase several and have the discount on all of them, where the coupon is just for 1 item (reg. price)

I got two dies last night (the football/helmet and Gingerbread man) and used my Christmas gift card from my son! They didn't have any CB dies/folders I didn't already have in stock, so didn't get to use a coupon...

I am delighted to learn that I can use my brass stencils with my Bug when it arrives. They are so cute, but sit unused so much of the time. Whooopeeee! You just made my day.

Call the store and ask if you can get the coupon there. The Mike's here will give you the discount if you ask for it; they need the manager's approval and you need to sign a form with your zipcode.

I had a question about this and if running Sizzix dies through it would work - the response I got was it is best to run more than one die through so the pressure is even all the way across (especially with the Sizzix dies)

It should be working fine.... are you using cuttlebug dies? If so you should have "A" on the bottom, then "B" then your die, paper on top and then "B" again.

Yikes, cracked my b plate using too much paper. Works fine for now on the bottom. Glad they are reasonably priced to replace!
