They have Garden Ridge here in Missouri, too. And, yes, it is always a mess! I've never been too impressed with their craft section, either: there isn't much in the wayof stamps or paper, and a lot of the stuff seems cheap. Having said that, though, I'd love to see the $1 ribbon organizer. That might be worth the trip.
Doesn't it bug you when stores are a mess? I don't mean to hijack, but I have that problem with the JoAnn Fabrics that is closest to my house. It is always trashed and the ladies who work there are often grumpy-- I think its the general atmosphere that does it to them!
I would love to see the ribbon organizer that they had. I have 2 about 15 minutes in either direction. One is HUGE even by GR standards. The other is smaller, but MUCH cleaner. That is the one that I usually go to. Gotta love the 72 hours sales

I , too , think much of the craft stuff is cheap looking at Garden Ridge, but I have had very good luck with some of their other things. I bought 2 chairs with ottomans there over 2 years ago for $99 each set. They are wood and vinyl mission style chairs. They have held up very nicely and were a good buy at that price.
I just bought a "silk" ficus tree today there. It was only $16 and is 6.5 ft. tall. It is also very nice for that price and just what I wanted. I shop at 2 different ones (MO &IL) and one is a lot cleaner and nicer than the other.

They closed all the Garden Ridge stores in Cincinnati about a year ago and I really miss it! They had great seasonal decorations and picture frames! If I recall correctly, they didn't have many good sales on paper crafting stuff (unless on clearance or in center aisle bins), but I don't think that was really their specialty.
I went & picked one up yesterday. I thought I would post a picture of the packaging just in case anyone was interested in seeing it. It is a yellow band that wraps around the ribbon holder.

My sister and I visited the Garden Ridge Pottery south of Houston in Webster, Texas. Out of two boxes of the ribbon holders we could find approximately 5 that weren't cracked or broken beyond the point of being useful. We did buy the 5 that we found that weren't too bad (only a couple of cracks in 2 of them). A good deal for $1. They are like double sided ribbon holders. About 10"-12" long that will hold two rows of ribbons.
I would love to have one or two of these if anyone has extras or could pick up extra. I of course will pay for them and S&H. email me at [email protected]
Oh how sorry if feel for those of you not fortunate enough to have a Garden Ridge near you! The one buy me (in O'Fallon, IL) is awesome! It's clean, friendly and just plain awesome! I have seen some pretty cool things in the craft department that have helped me broaden my crafty skills (or lack of  ). I will be in the area tonight and just might have to get me one (or two) of those ribbon holders. What's a buck or two? Thanks for the picture!

you were right by me.. i work right next to that garden ridge!
My firend and I were thinking of what we could do this weekend since my kids were gone. So we decided to go to Kentucky. The only reason we decided to go there was for Garden Ridge. We drove over six hours to get to Lexington. I happened to pick up a ribbon organizer while I was there. Then I got on splitcoast today to see all the buzz about it. How funny. I usually fell left out on all the great finds because were I live. Today I am not feeling left behind.
:( Okay guys, I missed out on the Target ribbon organizers, and I don't have a Garden Ridge where I live. This being said, if anyone could get me a couple, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!Denise
