Most Michael's will accept a competitor's coupon......so if you have one for JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, AC Moore (which is owned by the same partner company as Michael's is), etc. use those. You DO have to ask them to take it, though, because they don't advertise it.

Really, cause we don't get the Michaels' ad in our paper and I'm always searching for a coupon. There are only 2 in my area and both of them are over in Louisville -- for some reason they don't think southern Indiana has any crafters.

I found some left over sunday papers at the grocery store- went and bought 3 of them . Try the grocery store, if they have any left they are usually out.
It really stinks that you can't print a coupon from their web site like you can from Hobby Lobby's site. I have to ask people to save the ad for me. I also wish Michael's would have ads available at the store. I was there the other day and told the cashier that I did not have a coupon and he said he could give me the discount, I just had to sign a sheet to prove that I really received the discount. I am wondering if they all will do this or if I just lucked out with a nice cashier?
They publish them and they are put in selected papers in our area. Unfortunately my area is not one of them. Why? I have no idea! I just called and cancelled my home delivery since I do not EVER get one in the paper delivered to my house, but it is in the packet of ads in the stores. So, on my way home from church on Sundays, I will be going to the store and buying my Sunday ads, umm Sunday newspaper.
Most Michael's will actually let you sign to use the coupon once per day per store. I've done this a couple times when I've forgotten my coupon. I've also noticed on the sheet that some people mention they don't get the circular and that's the reason they sign for the coupon. They just have you sign your name and put your zip code. Don't know if they'll do it with the 50% off coupons, but they have always let me with the 40% off coupon.

My Michaels used to allow the sign-ups, etc., but had since stopped. They said it was only a surveying thing they were doing at the time. I didn't know they'd accept competitor's coupons... I had asked them before and no go. Maybe I'll try again soon.
Just wanted to let you know that I get the coupon in Wednesday or Thurs. throw away ads that come in the mail. For the longest time I just threw that little junk mail away without really looking at it, and it was my DH that told me it was in there...and there has been an ad almost every week!! So check your local news junk that gets mailed to the house you might be surprised.
I get on in my Thurs junk mail. It's usually in the middle between the grocery store flyers and pizza coupons ;) And then I get another one in the Sunday paper.
Someone told me you could just ask if they have an extra one at the register and they will give one to you, but I've never tried it ;)
Our Sunday paper always has the M's flier. It is never in any other day's paper. They're usually always every other week. This is the first year we've had a coupon every week since before Thanksgiving! Before DD subscribed, we would go through the groc. Sunday papers before she bought one.. the flier was almost never in those!! I guess that's the reason why our paper was stolen out of our yard last Sunday.. desperate crafters! ;)

Forgot to add.. this week is 50% off coupon for Sun. and Mon. No 40% off coupon for the rest of the week! Guess they'll go back to every other week now... bummer!!!
