HELP!!!! DD ATE REINKER!!!!
HELP!
My child got ahold of the BLACK reinker!! She is covered head to toe in black ink! WE were going to get her Easter pictures today too..LMAO. I guess we still will.
My question....
How do I get it off of her?! I threw her into a bath immediately, but only scratched the surface of what she has all over her. Her TEETH were purple from the dye!
I was cracking up & fretting all at the same time. Now I have ink all over me. Her cute little dress is ruined too. :(
I am also going to watch her to make sure there are no effects of the ink in her system. :(

Jenna I wish I had some advice for you, but I don't. I wanted to let you know though that I do have a mental image of your DD with purple teeth smiling for the camera with teh Easter Bunny

Britta,
You KNOW I will have to post the picture...lol. If I am mean enough to take a picture of her throwing a tantrum, then you KNOW I will post a inked up Easter Bunny picture...lol
I wish I could have taken a picture when I first saw her. My camera card died this week :(
Do you think stazon remove would hurt? (NOT in her mouth)

Oh My Goodness! I just had to laugh out loud at the vision of this one! Try eye make-up remover. Also "lava" brand soap has a bit of a pumice feel to it, that may help remove the "splotches". I've also used the "goop" brand cleaner that has pumice in it to remove ink from my hands. You can find it at the auto repair store.
The inks are non-toxic, but I bet there's going to be a black "reminder" in the next day or so! Hee Hee, sorry, but this was too funny.
Post pictures! I want to see her!
Good Luck!

NO!!! Couldn't be sure if you were serious or not...so just in case...NO!!! Actually, over the years the best ink remover for ink-stained hands I've come across is shampooing your hair. Yep, weird as it sounds, I think the combo of the soap and the texture of hair combine to get it off.
Maybe if you tried shampoo - straight- as a cleanser with a loofah sponge or something?
I REALLY can't wait to see pictures, and I wish we could fast-forward to the day when you show it to her future husband...
Hugs,
Betsy

Similar teeth
One year before my kids went out for Halloween, my DH came home with a bag of black licorice. The kids were having a ball eating it. When I went to take their picture before they went out for the night, I discovered that their months were BLACK, their lips were BLACK, and their teeth were BLACK. We TOOK the picture. What a funny thing to look back on and laugh.
There were a couple of posts a week or so back that talked about some things that really took off ink stains. But for the life of me I can't remember what they were.

When DD was one she got my basic black stamp pad. DH and all his friends are chemists (including one of my downline) they told me to use the Purell hand sanitizer. AMAZING. It didnt get it 100%, but I'd say 90%. I now keep a bottle in my travel case, and one in my stamp room.\
Good luck with the pictures.

Hey JenJam, don't you watch your toddler? jk I know it is impossible to keep an eye on them every second, and they are fast and quiet when they are up to no good.
My GS once put vaseline all over himself - top to bottom. I think it took a very long time for his Mommy to get all that off too. Hmmm, it might take the ink off. It takes off mascara!
LOL can't wait to see the pictures!

I have two suggestions, not sure if they will work but I find baby oil takes off those horrible rub on tattoos and markers on skin so maybe that would work. The other thing I have found good for getting " kids cleaned up " is L.O.C. by Amway. My mother in law swears by that stuff. My DD got covered in grease from heavy machinery and it took it off with no sweat. And its totally safe to use on skin.

Well, I would probably try soaking her hands in Stampin Mist...at least she'd smell good...
My DD got into some lipstick when she was about 1 1/2, and when it appeared the next day in her diaper, it scared me until I realized what it was...

Baby wipes seem to shift most things. My daughter once spent a happy afternoon stamping with her elbow resting in the Basic Black! Well-dilute bleach cleaned her white top, but it was the baby wipes that sorted her skin (although I do have to add, "eventually")

Baby oil may take it off. I have used it to remove mascara before too.
BUT be very careful with it. I saw something on TV about a baby getting into it and it coated his lungs and killed him! There was nothing they could do. Scary stuff to have in your house after seeing that! Sorry, didn't mean to terrify anyone, but I never knew that!

Looking forward to seeing your photo! I had a day like that not long ago . . . found DD had put Chapstick on her sister's computer screen, dumped the cat's water bowl into the food, reprogrammed the Tv and threw lightbulbs down the stairs. Now mind you, mothers do have to visit the bathroom once in a while and i don't haul her in there with me . . . that's just enough time for her, apparently, to act upon these kooky impulses that fill a 3-year-old brain.

ok, I posted the Easter Bunny Picture...
BABY WIPES got all of the ink off of her face, but you can still see the ink on her hands. My sister has some better pictures she will send me & I will post later today (I hope) Her entire mouth was black earlier. It looked like she was bleeding black!!! LMAO
She was sneaky about getting it. I didn't think that she could reach that far back on my table, but it turns out she moved her stool over to the table. Teach me for watching a movie (ladder 49) & not paying 100% attention to the little stinker!

It's probably too late for this response, but when I spend a few hours stamping and get ink on my hands, I use the rubber stamp cleaner liquid and rub and it all comes off. Of course I don't know how this would work since she had so much on her, but it's a thought for future reference.

I vote for the hand sanitizer! That stuff is really amazing. It got ball point ink off my micro fiber covered computer chair. It also got a stain off a beautiful hand-me down dress that I should have had dry cleaned and didn't . I didn't check the dress before Spring Picture Day at school. Take those pictures, smile, laugh and remember your DD is only little once!!

What a good laugh I got reading this. When I read the subject...I about died laughing and just had to come and check it out. I hope that you get most of it off of her before the pictures, and that she doesn't get sick.
Look forward to seeing her little purple teeth! LOL

The picture was added to the bottom of my original post. Her face is almost all cleaned up, but if you look at her hands, you can still see the discoloration.

OMG! It's funny b/c her teeth don't look any blacker than my sister's and mine from most Easter day pictures growing up. We all have a serious addiction to black jelly beans! Last year we bought a 5lb. bag of the stuff!

The reason that hand sanitizer works (and a couple of other things mentioned) is because it contains alcohol. Just plain rubbing alcohol will take it off, even if the stain has been sitting for a while. Anything containing alcohol (hairspray, hand sanitizer, etc.) will take ink out, but straight rubbing alcohol works the best. It is safe and works well on clothes, too. I wouldn't recommend rinsing your mouth out with it, though .
When I first started stamping, my demonstrator recommended using alcohol on my stamps that had been used with Basic Black, but to make sure to clean with Stampin' Mist after so that the alcohol wouldn't dry them out. It does clean the black ink off stamps, even if they've been sitting. I quit doing it though, because it was one extra step in cleaning, and because if you spray the alcohol directly on the stamp, it would run and "color" the wood, or eat the wood sealer I'd put on there to prevent colored wood. Every once in a while, though, after a stamp has been really used in black & I want to make sure it is clean before using it in a light color, or in VersaMark, I'll spray a paper towel with alcohol & then "stamp" on that to get any extra black ink off, that might affect a lighter color.

It still won't come off her hands though

Kids are so funny. I always make my son stamp his handprints in the cards for the grandparents and he loves doing it. Well, lastnight when I was making a card I look over he opened my blue spectrum pad and had stamped his hand in it and then had stamped the top of another spectrum pad and he stamped the table. I was like oh no, but it was so funny. So I will try the hand sanitizer thing that someone recommended, because the ink is still on his hand. When we handstamp I usually use some memories pads that I got forever ago from Wal-Mart and it comes of his hand easily, but wow Stampin up ink doesn't want to come off lol. Glad you had a memorable Easter, and your daughter is a cutie

Here's my precious at 2 after getting ahold of my red sharpie marker. I caught him as he was going to start on his arms. He's 9 now so he likes to look at this picture and laugh.
Jenna, your baby is the cutest thing. How old is she? I got a cute 3 yr. old boy who thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.  Maybe we can send them to the same college so they can meet and make the most beautiful babies. just kidding
Sorry about the size of the picture. It took me 5 times just to get the picture on here. Where's the "Computers for Dummies" book?

Love the pic of the Sharpie Boy!!! My DD use to get into markers and loved to color the bottom of her feet and then run across my white carpet. (The carpet was already in when we bought the house) Once I had an African American foster son. Because his skin was so dry we had to put lotion on him several times a day. One day he found a tube of toothpaste and figured it was lotion. He stipped down to his diaper and covered himself in toothpaste. It really stuck out against his skin. I shot several pics. Wish I could remember where they are now so I could post them.
