Default January VSBN Shopping List!!!

When preparing for the Olympics we need a lot of good equipment!! Listed below are items you will need to participate in the January VSBN Winter Olympics.

Your well trained coaches have some exciting challenges prepared for you to get more pages done for your scrapbooks and I would hate to have you miss even one because you didnt have the correct equipment.

I am posting this early enough so you can add some of the items you dont have to your Christmas wish list, or possibly pick them up while you are out shopping yourself.

Scrapping/stamping supplies needed:

a large variety of different colors of cardstock
 glossy paper
 adhesives including Sticky Strip/tape
 stamps
 inks
 pens
a wide variety of PHOTOS (you must include photos on your pages!!) including Black and White or Sepia
 Heat gun
 Embossing buddy
 Sponge or brayer
 Sand paper or sanding block
 VersaMark
 Acetate sheet
 Wax paper
Embellishments (not limited to these listed)
o Metal eyelets, brads, etc.
o embossing powder clear and metallic
o UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel)
o bling embellishments (glitter, rhinestones, stickles, etc)
o File folder - a size/color/style you can use on your page as an embellishment; or if you have the Coluzzle template you can make your own
o Ribbon, thread
o Flowers
o buttons
 Coluzzle or other circle cutters
punches - circle, square or oval punches work best

This is the Olympics - have a variety of gold, silver and bronze (copper will do) paper, inks, EP and hardware!!!

There may be items added, so check back again before the Winter Olympics begin! See you there!!!

Default another question:

The file folder: do you mean the regular manilla type regular sized file folders or another kind? They have decorated ones, mini ones, etc. Just checking to make sure I have the right ones. THANKS!!;)

I'll go up and edit that - circle, oval or square punches work best.

You will need any size/kind that will fit on your layout as an embellishment. Coluzzle even has a folder template - oh maybe I can ask for that for Christmas!;)

Pockets & Pieces is a good idea - I don't have that and now maybe I have a good reason to get it. I also need to get some of the metalic papers - I don't have any and have always wanted some - but again, needed a good excuse to buy some

It is very neat once you get the "pieces" out and play with them!! They have some cool pockets and little extra embellishment doodads in there too!! I've got them both and I tend to run out quickly when I get on a kick about using them!!

Well, ladies, I am spending too much time thinking about joining the January VSBN Winter Olympics. I'm pumped up! I want 2007 to be the year I master scrapbooking. I still have old photos to redo but I know I will be taking more, especially now that I have a digital camera. But I'm spinning in too many directions and can't decide just what I want to work on! Maybe the challenges will focus me, if not, I'm sure I will have fun and learn alot!
I do have a question, the acetate sheet - where is it? I'm not finding it in ACMoores or Office Depot. Am I just not looking in the right dept?

I use transparency sheets...I can't give you much direction as to where to look to buy them...but for my challenge you can use waxed paper as a substitute....no need to go out and buy acetate/transparency sheets special! I hope that helps!

This is getting my creative mind moving. That is the weekend we have Christmas with my dear kids, can you imagine that. We have one in retail that is 8 hours away and works everyother weekend. They will leave the night before the VBSN and I will probably need something to redirect my mind from having them leave. Also, I wasn't aware coluzzle was still making so
many templates, and can regular transparency be used on scrapbook pages,
I thought they are not acid free and could yellow the photos? Can't wait to see whatelse our organize team and Peggy our olympic chief inoformation officer has up their sleeves, such fun, hoping I can participate, this would be the first, though stamped/scrapped forever. Carolyn

Carolyn,
I hope you get to join us too, just think of all the wonderful pictures you will have to scrap!
Aren't those new Colozzle templates cool!
As for the transparency, what you will be doing with it is totally scrapbook safe. Scouts honor!!! That's all I can tell you!
I am so excited about our challenges - the coaches have been working on these and I guarantee you they will get your creative minds running.
Hope to see you in January!!!

About the file folder--would using a file tab punch like this work? Or do I need to go shopping? You know, it's just soo hard to go shopping! I'd rather scrub toilets, clean carpets, and disinfect litter boxes than go into that awful scrapbook store ;)

Hi Linda! Just using a tab is not going to work mainly because it needs to open like a file folder. If you wanted to, you could use that tab to trace to make a folder. I also wouldn't object if the tab was attached to a folded peice but just remember that the file folder needs to open. Hope this answers your question, I'd hate to make you go shopping and take you away form all that fun stuff you'd rather be doing...hehehehe
Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks so much for this Erika!! I've got it printed out and will cut it out as well so that I can have it ready to use in case I need it. I do have the pockets 'n pieces thing along with some other cut out stuff, but you never know what color, what type or if you need BG paper etc, depending upon the challenge...KWIM? So it's nice to have this! THANKS!;)

That's what I was thinking too...this way if you wanted a certain color...you can have it tailored to your needs!
