Okay ~ so we've asked how many new sets you have, how many total sets do you have? Are they all SU or are they CTMH and SU or others? Not total individual stamps, actual sets?
I have 74 and I'm ordering more this weekend. It would seriously depress me to add up how much I've spent this past year.
I think I only have 63 sets, but not a demo.. this is for my own personal hobby.. I do have 26 wheels too though, and I just ordered simple shapes and the farmyard jumbo wheel too. If I were a demo would have to have more.. there are a lot of mine that are retired now. Someday going to make a list and see how many really are retired.. lol Oh ya mine are ALL Stampin Up.. that is the only company I have found that I like.
I refuse to count. Seeing an absolute number. . . shudder. I just know that I have way more than I did when I took a picture of the shelves my FIL built for my stamping room. Like enough to ooch my dh's stuff *under* the counter instead of on the display shelves!
I have 60 sets...but have been accumulating since 1998 or 1999!!! My DH thinks I have plenty...but what does he know!!! Haven't ordered any out of new catty yet...can't wait to place my first order!!

this is not a good thing to ask us to count our sets....makes us realize how much $$$ we have invested.
I have 102 sets. I am in the process of labeling them as "retired" when they retire, but I think that I have about 1/2 that are current and half that are retired.
I have 5 regular wheels and 2 jumbo's
they are all SU! complete sets.

hehehehehehe Jenn, it would take you a long time to count your sets, but someday you should just so we all know how many you have
I don't have near as many as Beate. But she's been in longer than me! I have a lot of non-su! but those really belong to the kids now, and are in my daughter's bedroom. She has a drawer with many odds & ends stamps from when I first started buying them at Michael's and Hobby Lobby and stuff. She really loves to collect stamps and paper. Ooooh, am I in trouble or what? That's kinda how I started!
Just became a demo in May. My Upline counted mine and hers. Much to my surprise, I had more sets than she did!(Please don't tell my DH) I'm adding to my collection as we speak.

OK... I feel a little decadent... Last time I counted (six months ago?) I had 282 sets!
Now for the SCARY part  I have every stamp I own stamped in a binder (about 7" thick)! With this book, I never buy a duplicate, and seeing the sets on paper really keeps me using some of the older ones.

I am in the process of doing this binder too Loti! I love it!

I have mine stamped in a book AND on an Excel spread sheet. This really saves me because the spreadsheet is portable through my Yahoo account.

Did you download the sets from SU! for your spreadsheet?
Jenn: do you alphabetize your sets?
Just trying to get myself (stamp room) organized.
I just have a multi-sheet spread sheet that I did myself. I add my sets that I have under one tab, have a wish list under another, list of wheels, list of reinkers, list of cartridges, swaps, things like that in a sheet that I made. I like excel.
I have about 55 and just signed up to be a demo. I had stamped all of mine on paper over a year ago and now I have so many more! Now I keep a spreadsheet like someone else posted. I have a tab, a wish list tab. My friends and I also have a spreadsheet between the five of us and toether minus duplicates we have over 150 sets. WOW...
Mine (in a perfect world when they're all put away neat and tidy) are more by type and subject. All of the backgrounds are together, as are the sayings, flowers, animals, each holiday, etc.
In the real world, half of the sets are on the shelf, a third are under my table, and the rest are in a pile by my shelf next to a basket where I put individual stamps until they get back in their box with the rest of the set.
I am just shy of 110. I am in the process of putting them in a binder and on a spreadsheet. Actually, I already have them in the spreadsheet, I am just trying to figure out the best way to organize the sets themselves. As soon as I get that done I will be putting some type of mark on each retired set so that I can see at a glance if it is. Maybe a red "R" or a little round colored sticker or something along those lines. Any suggestion?

P.S. DH doesn't dare say anything. You know how many stamp sets I can get for the price of a set of golf clubs? Ahhhh.........to dream.......

I have been trying for two years to come up with a system of labeling my stamp sets with the set name and my name and finally found something that will sork for me. (I print the name on a clear address label and mount it with the sticker on the block of wood - under the copyright of Stampin'Up!.) I would love to know how you organize your notebooks. This is my next project.
SC
I haven't counted (ignorance is bliss  ) but I think I am going to cut up one of my 2003-2004 catalogs since the majority of my sets are from there (i've only been stamping since January). Then I will make a notebook out of those images.
I have over 125 SU stamp sets. I cut apart catalogs and keep images in a binder according to the category in the catalog. I have the stamp sets stored on book shelves according to the catalog category. Makes it so much easier to see what I have.
How funny...I just inventoried last night... I have 166 current sets with more on the way. I can't remember how many retired sets I had- I think it was in the area of 70 or so. I didn't even touch the non SU! stuff yet. My DH would die if he saw my inventory list (it has prices on it too)- Lets just not tell him
Hmmm. I dunno. I'd have to count them. I'll go do that.

I think something is wrong with me....I am more attracted to the embellishments, gadgets, paper, and accessories than to the stamp sets. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of stamp sets but my orders seem to fill up with all the other stuff. Maybe I need to rethink this......

Okay, I counted. I have 97 sets with 16 or 17 more on the way. So, I'm somewhere around 113-114. I've been a demo for 16 mos. YIKES! I didn't realize I had so many! 32 are retired and I just don't want to part with them!

Well, I'm a non-demo, and was introduced to stamping by my coworkers three years ago next month. Last time I checked I think I had 50 or so sets and 8 or 9 background stamps. I'm an impoverished grad student right now, so I can't place any orders from my new catty that's coming any day now! Wish I were at home and could hostess a workshop so I could get some free stuff!
I'm oh so anal. My sets are by number. I number them when they arrive, put them on the spread sheet, print out a piece of CS with the number and the name of the set. Stamp the set on the piece of CS. Put it in a page protector and file it. I have my sets in plastic boxes that are numbered. I can then go to the spreadsheet if I know the name or I can flip through the book if I don't or don't know what set I want to use. I then go to the container with that number. Sometimes I wonder if I've had more fun organizing my sets or using them. LOL
Oh, and I never let a set sit more than a day before I mount it either. I'm a little compulsive too.
As soon as I get that done I will be putting some type of mark on each retired set so that I can see at a glance if it is. Maybe a red "R" or a little round colored sticker or something along those lines. Any suggestion?

I printed Discontinued Set on a sheet of clear return address labels and put them on the end of the box with the set name label. I used the clear ones so when they overlap I can still see the name of the set.
For those of you that use binders to keep track of your stamps set. You can make a copy of the label sheet - it's faster than stamping them all. At least it is if you have a fax/copy machine at home.
Just went and counted my stamps:
39 current sets plus 14 on order
84 retired sets
20 reg wheels (about 1/2 retired)
1 jumbo wheel plus 1 one on order
I may have a few more around here somewhere - we moved my stamping space and I still don't have it all sorted out.
I like to stamp mine ~ although copying is a creative idea ~ becaues I also will do the two step stamping. And with the stamping I can have more than one set on a page, not to mention that label sheet doesn't last long enough to get to a copier in my house. LOL
I haven't gone through and marked the retired sets yet. Knowing how picky I am, I'll have to Find a way to put an R or Retired on the pictures and the set with the computer or it will drive me buggy. I really need a P-Touch!!
