Default Husband says "Ask your Stampin People"!!

You know that is about the funniest thing coming from my husband ~ in the beginning he hated it that I was on here looking at things and chatting now he is sending me here to get advice!!!!

So We are in the market for a new printer ~ I want a all in one with a flat bed for scanning (my cards of course) and very good print quality for printing - I will probably print pictures only from time to time.....

Beyond that I just want something that will last more than a year!!

Any advice would be very much appreciated!
Thanks
Shelley

A few years ago, I bought a Hewlett Packard one...it scans, copies and prints...black & white or color. I print pics from time to time, and it does fine. (I have photos printed professionally if I have more than a few) I haven't had any probs w/it. It think it was about $200-250.

May I suggest that you go to "epinions.com" and check around in there and then look for reviews at PC Magazine. Their reviews are usually right on the mark. HTH

Default *LOVE* my....

I am *really* loving my Epson Stylus CX6600. It is a flatbed scanner/printer/copier. I only am bothered by the fact that it doesn't fax, but I have an internal fax modem in my 'puter, so it's really not *that* big of a deal...

What I *love* the most about the CX600 is that each of the individual printer ink cartridges is an *individual* color! That means unlike my previous HP unit, when I run out of blue ink, I *only* replace the blue ink. I'm not pitching a full Magenta and a full Yellow too. The ink cartridges are only $12.99 to $14.99 at CompUSA. I've had my unit for 2 months, print every single day, still at 80% on both Black and Cyan cartridges. *Very* easy to install.

What I don't like: it is a *BOHEMOTH* that takes up a *ton* of space on my desk!! The real estate in my office is at a premium to begin with...so this is a huge issue for me. Otherwise, I love it.

HTH - Good luck with your decision! ~K

I am also thinking about getting an all in one, and the computer guru here at my office recommended getting the HP6210 (or 2610 I can't remember) It is a photosmart, so it prints great pictures and he said it also has an ethernet port so that you can operate it remotely. I have no idea really what this means other than I wanted something wireless like my internet connection. He said you can get them at Costco for around $200.

I just got the Lexmark P6250 and it is great! So easy to use! The scanned pics are great quality! It's easy to use! Check it out at their website>>
Lexmark P6250
We got ours about $50 cheaper at the military exchange (PX)
Hope that helps!
Edited to add: I LOVE that it prints BORDERLESS photos! So if you have 4x6 photo paper, it won't crop your 4x6 picture to fit, no white bordered edges.

I have a Hp 2210 all in one. It copies, prints, faxes and scans. Probably does more, but have not figured it all out. It does a great job. What I really love about it is I can stick the memory card from my camera right into the printer and it will download it all into my computer. Easy!

I have to put in my vote for the Epson all in one too. I love how I can change out the individual colors of ink as needed instead of wasting all that magenta when it is really only the yellow that is "out". It is kinda big, but on our computer desk, it has its own "platform" and that keeps it from being a "space pig".

Hope you are successful in finding the info you are looking for in printers.
Hugs,
Debbie

we've got an HP all-in-one that I've got (almost) no complaints about. we rarely do anything but print but it's nice to know that you *can* scan, copy, etc. if you need to. it's also wireless, so if you've got the wireless thing going on you can print through your existing network. weak Mac support is my only complaint.

I don't have an opinion on a 3-in-1 to buy, but I do have an opinion on one not to buy. I had a HP 1200 or 1300 series (can't remember which now). It was a cheaper one, I think around $150. It just completely lost power. It was just over the 1 year warranty mark. It was going to cost about $80 to repair. I would recommend putting a little more money into whichever printer you choose and getting an extended warranty.

The HP PSC 1350 printer is an all-in-one unit that prints/scans & copies. It's a great little printer and does an excellent job on photos. You should be able to get it for under $145.

I have an Epson All In One CX5200. Love it. I will second the post on the ink cartridges being separate. You may have to pay a little more but you won't be wasting ink.

My choice is the HP7310 all-in-one we love it . My only advice is don't by a printer from any of the discount chain stores such as target. The reason being when you by one of the all-in-one printer there is more to go wrong,
buy from a store that offers the extended warranty.

I have the Epson Stylus Photo RX600 and I love it. It even has a place where you can take your negatives and scan them into your computer. The only downside is that it is LARGE..... It takes up a lot of space.

Let us know what printer you choose.

We have an HP all in one that was purchased from Costco. (I think around $300) I am very happy with the quality. I only print photos occasionally, mainly use it for faxing, printing, copying, and scanning. We have been very happy with it. They have some great rebates via costco's website for all in ones right now.

Thanks so much ~ I will let my hubby read all this and see if we can come to an agreement on something!

Example: We both said do not buy anything for V day and we will get something that we all can use so we decided on a new home entertainment system ~ Well after much looking and searching and debating neither of us could make a decision on which one to get /this was better or that was less expensive and the stereo system we have is still good etc etc etc....then it was the dvd recorder talk - and that has been going on for a month too....well I WANT and we NEED a printer so I am going to move with this one and I really appreciate all your help in trying to decide ~ sometimes the guys at Circuit City just don't answer my questions in my language!!!

Have a wonderful day!

I asked this same question a couple of weeks ago and got wonderful responses!

I have looked at consumer reviews and have been to Best Buy, Circut City, and other places to look at the printers and I have decided on the Epson CX6600.

I also want an all in one (the fax not as important to me). I chose the Epson because of the print quality, the separate color cartridges and it is top loading which will help with the thicker cardstock.

I am happy to hear that those who have this printer are happy with it.
