Default IKEA Stamp Pad Holder

I got these at IKEA last weekend. They're DVD holders, but they each hold 17 pads. They were only $3.99 each! I've been buying my pads slowly, so I don't have the boxes to store them in.

Oohhh! I must have! I bought some "bolt bins" from Lowe's 2 wks ago for my pads, but I like these soooo much better! I have to get on line and order now!! These just look so much "cleaner" and easier to find what you need. Thanks for the tip!

I should have added that you can stain or paint them because they're just raw wood. I was in too much of a hurry to get them up to go through all that.

When we redo my craft room that is what I am going to put my pads in. It is the most economical thing I have seen out there. Plus I like the idea that you can paint or stain them.

They are 19.5"x2.5". I'm sorry, I don't have a name or number. I think it was on a sticker that is on the back of the racks. They did have some for CD's too, so make sure you don't get those. They're WAY too narrow. I just searched at the IKEA site for these and didn't see them. I'm guessing it's one of those things you have to pick up in the store. I'll see if I can find the receipt. My husband paid while I was packing up the stuff we bought, so he probably stuck it in his pocket.

Hey Carolyn,
Great minds must think alike...I was looking in my Ikea catalog yesterday and saw these in the CD rack style (called 'Stackebo cd rack') and was going to go this weekend with a stamp pad to see if it would fit. Now, I know to look for the DVD style instead...thanks for sharing.

I'm heading to IKEA! I keep looking at things that might work for my stamp pads - these are great! Love the fact that they hang on the wall.

Thanks for posting!

I just tried with a Spectrum, Versamark and Encore pad. None of those will fit. They're just a smidge too tall.

Got a question for you, carolync6, it looks like this is a long piece of wood with smaller horizontal wood pieces glued on and they are what holds the pads, right? I'm wondering if that is how they are made because I'm thinking that for those of us who don't have an Ikea nearby or who have a handy DH could make them ourselves. And, in addition, they could spaced so they would hold the pads that you said don't fit.

Yes, that's basically the design. The little wood pieces that hold the pads up are inset into the long strip, not just glued on. You could definitely alter the distance between the holders, but you really need this particular distance for the classic new style pads. They'd fall right out of a slot big enough for the spectrum/versamark, etc...I'm sure my DH could have made this for me easily, but it might have been three years before I actually got him to start on them.

Would they hold the older style stamp pads? This is such a great idea and I may need it in my next house. Thanks for sharing!

True for me too on the time factor, but there are no Ikea stores here. For that price I would be buying it rather than making it if I had the option. I really like the fact that it mounts on the wall. The notching makes it more time intensive as far as making, but it also makes it more sturdy. I'm wondering if a really good glue would do the trick. I can see where the spacing would be critical in holding the pads.

I was cleaning up my stamping storage area(my husband will pass out when he notices) and ran across the receipt for the holders. Their name is Stackebo DVD Rack, the number is 60077572, and they were 4.99 not 3.99. Sorry, you'd think I could remember something for a week.

We don't have an IKEA where I live, but I asked a friend to pick me up some when she went to Houston. Guess what?!? She bought the CD holder not the DVD holder and the pads didn't fit. Make sure you get the DVD Holder.

Thanks for measuring them for me. Love the detailed description, think I need DH to keep his saw out to finish this project for me. The height is going to kill my little workspace organization. :?

Okay, I bought the CD holder too and not the DVD holder! I was thinking 3.99 and just put them in the bag! Okay so the bad news is, I have to go back - but the good news is, I have to go back! Did I mention I took the kids and we met Grammie and Pops there and had a nice lunch and stroll through the store? A wonderful afternoon, but my ink pads are still in that darn box!

I'm sorry, I don't have any old style pads to check. Are they the same height as the new style pads? If so, I'm sure they'd be fine. If they're the same or taller than the versamark or encore pads, they will not fit.

I don't think you can order them online. I just put Stackebo into their search and it returned no hits. I bet you could call a store and have them shipped though. You'll have the name and the number. The people that work there are really nice, and customer service is important to them. If you go to www.ikea.com, you'll be able to find a store.

Carolyn

Edited to add that I'm sorry I don't live closer to the one we go to. It's a good 30 miles away. I'll post to this thread next time I head over and pick them up for anyone who wants them.

Someone posted about these awhile back and I loved the way that they look! I looked at the Emeryville IKEA while I was there right around the first of the year and they only had the CD ones. :(

I found another picture online that's from another angle -- it's not great, but you can see it here:

http://www.nowtoronto.com/issues/200...s_thegoods.php

Scroll down to #5. It's being shown behind something else, but you can at least it see from the side to get another idea if this would work for you.

Thanks to the OP for the post! We're driving right by an Ikea on the way to Easter dinner at my IL's this weekend!! Wahooooooo!

IKEA is not like a Michael's. It's not a craft store. It's an everything else
store, well almost everything else store.
