Default Sticky Situation

I'm hoping to get some feedback from a SU demo. I am not one. I only recently started stamping, and finally got a hold of the one and only demo in my area. I placed an order on March 1. I was told the order went in the very same day, and that I should have my stuff in 7 days. Last week I received an email from the demo saying that my order was back ordered, and she didn't know when it would be here. I wrote back to clarify. Is my entire order back ordered??? I would think they would have sent some of what I ordered. I haven't heard from her since. It's now been 3 weeks, and dispite repeated attemps to contact her, I've heard nothing. Am I being overly anxious? Thanks all!

I'm not a demo, but our club order was placed on Sunday March 13th. Some of it arrived on Friday, some today and one more shipment is due to arrive tomorrow. So in other words, some things were on back order. I'm not sure if that helps explain your situation though.

Take care, Brenda

That's an interesting situation. They are experiencing some significant backorders right now, especially on the promotional sets and on the punches in the mini catalog.

Have you tried multiple venues for contacting her? For example, have you sent email as well as calling? Or vice versa? Sometimes family emergencies come up.

Usually not everything is on back order. And 3 weeks is a really long time since their shipping times are way down. If you don't hear back within the next week as to what is up, then perhaps you should go to stampin up website and see if you get get some information from them.

I know that there have been backorders, but I would still call and check up on it...maybe request the Order # and if it has been shipped the Tracking #. That way you have another way to verfy that she had indeed placed the order. I would hate for you to have been lied to about the order. If the demo does not respond to you make sure you let us know and I'm sure that we can help you figure out what to do next.

Not being completely nosey, but what did you order? We demos here on the boards have a pretty good feel for what is on backorder at the moment as we are always putting in orders too.... maybe we can give you some insight into what may or may not be on BO......

Good luck!

I would try to call her, as things do come up - emergency, etc.
If she still doesn't respond, I would call call the company to check when exactly the order was placed (hope she was truthful with you) I had a bad experience once with an previous demo who constantly ordered late, but collected our money at the party and told us it was ordered.
3 weeks seems like a long time for her to not even contact you.
Most of the the time some things are backordered, but rarely everything in the order.

I hate waiting for my stamp stuff to arrive!

Right now there is a huge backorder for the hole punches in the mini catty, and there is a bit of a delay on the promotion sets! As well as a few other items.

Maybe one item of your order is on backorder, and she was hoping to deliver the entire order to you at one time. Was the order sent to her home? If being delivered to your home, she should be able to give you a UPS tracking number to follow once it is shipped, but if the entire order is backordered there is no tracking number.

Try calling her/e-mailing her again!

Let us know what happens!

Wow, you gals are FAST! I've tried calling this demo multiple times, and have left many messages. I've also emailed her numerous times. It's obvious to me that she's avoiding me. I ordered the set Pocket Fun, Stipple Celebrations, and a few others. In addition, there were some items other than stamps, (ink, crystal effects, etc.). Again, thanks for all your help!

Is it spring break in your area? Maybe she's on vacation with her family, just a thought.

My first instinct was that perhaps SOME of your order did already come in, but that she only wants to make ONE trip out to you, so she is telling you that nothing is in until it's ALL in. Just a thought.

Sorry you're dealing with this! :(

I don't know about the last week or so, but Stipple Celebrations was backordered for a while.

This demo doesn't sound very reliable, I know for a fact Pocket Fun is not on backorder. I'm wondering like the rest maybe she recieved partiall order but is trying to wait for everything to come in. You should try one more phone call, tell her you will take the stuff thats already in and she can contact you when the rest comes in. If no response have her full name and call Stampin Up and report her. Hope this helps.

I think you should just call S.U. at 1-800-stampup and explain the situation. I'm sure if you have her name they should be able to track the order for you and tell you the status. They don't want one demo's mistake to reflect poorly on them so I would think they would want to help you staighten this out. Good luck!

I agree, if you really need answers, call them. They are very helpful!

Try to call her again. She should be getting back to you by now, one way or the other.

I don't think you mentioned where you're from. Location can make a difference in how quickly shipments arrive from UPS.

Just an update for those that helped. It's been almost a month, and there's still no sign of my order. I got one email from the demo stating, (and I don't understand this at all), that she cancelled my order so I don't have to wait for the backorder. That was a week and a half ago. Since then, I have written and called again, to no avail. I have also found out that nothing I ordered has been on backorder from the company. I emailed the demo and told her I either want my product, or my money back, but have received no response, of course. I did call SU, and reported the incident. They said it would be investigated, but I should be patient as these things take time. What I don't know, is how much time it will take. Does anyone have any experience with this? I really want my order, but really can't reorder through someone else until this is straightened out. Thanks for all your help!

Holy Cow!

You need to get down hard on this woman. I would allow NO excuses. If she had issues she shouldn't have taken your order. She's already lied about it.

I would call her - write it down (date you talked to her) - and tell her you are sending a certified letter to her demanding money or product and will be pursuing legal remedies, whatever it takes, and reporting it to SU! (You don't have to mention you already did.)

Also send a letter regular mail, so if she refuses the certified, she'll get the other one. (Used to do this in a law office.)

If you have any lawyer friends, ask them what's next. Otherwise, I'm not sure if it's small claims court or what venue....

I can't believe this.... Go for it, this is unconscionable.
