I will sign up to be a demo on April 1st. Before I would often buy things at Michael's with the 40% off coupons. But now that I am going to demo I won't be able to use those things to demonstrate. So for all you demos out there, what do you use your coupons for? organization items? magazines? What?
I know it sounds funny but I rarely find anything good at Mike's. I always seem to comapre it to SU, and then there is no contest. SO I buy things like
bigger beads
jewelry findings
magnets for pebble magnets
Thomas trains/tracks for Cam
fun foam buckets/other kids art supplies
Spray Varnish
I think that is about it-my DH has been SHocKED  the last few times I went in a nd came out with nothing.

I'm really to that point too where I have let several coupons expire in my pocket because there isn't much else I want. I still buy stuff there for my Brownie crafts but no much for me anymore.
The JoAnn's here is opening up a new store (closing their old dumpy one) next to Archivers so that may open up some new avenues for spending.
I usually buy stamps, but not very many as I prefer to spend money on the SU stamps. I don't buy ink there unless I'm desparate. I buy the fiskars replacements and also the sissors, "junk" paper (I like SU paper and their ink and usually won['t go anywhere else for those two items) to practice ideas on, decorative punches, cards & envelopes when they are on sale, a couple magazines, some ribbon (not much...I like Hobby Lobby's ribbons), and that's about all.
With Fridays coupon since it is 50% off and I'm a new demo. I need to get a carrier thing to do workshops. Something to fit it all, well... not all but some supplies that we will be using. I don't use Mike's that much anymore since I've signed up. Which is good cause then i make more purchases for SU and they go towards my quarterlies.
My Michaels is awful! I usually end up walking around for an hour and ending up with nothing! I do buy some Sizzix dies but that's about it. I sometimes buy their cardstock to use for practice so I don't waste my SU cardstock...but other than that..there's not a whole lot unless something catches my eye for my house or I need a picture frame!

A new Michael's just opened up not far from my house and they had 50% off coupons for their grand opening! I bought a Fiskars circle cutter - needed a circle in a size SU doesn't have a punch for. I got it for only 6 bucks - a deal! And it worked really well. Also bought a Coluzzle heart template. I did get a word stamp SU doesn't have. Can't have too many word stamps, but I don't buy them without a coupon.
I just recently got a xyron, so I'm planning on using many coupons for the refills. I also use them for the great stamping magazines they carry, and sometimes cool embellishments or fancy papers that SU doesn't carry.
I myself have 7 versamark pads, all bought on discount at Michaels or other places when on sale. Since I bought my first one before I became a demo, I didn't feel bad about it, with 7 I can have 2 at each of my 3 tables, and keep a "good" one for my own personal use. I also buy magazines, mini brads, xyron refills and machines, double sided tape, and fun fur. When I need enough yarn for 45 cards for a class, the 3 yards from SU doesn't cut it!
Has anyone ever noticed that Mikes has had the same old stamps for the past (at least) five years!!! That is so weird that they think people like looking at the same thing year after year!?!
Coluzzle and supplies for it
Fiskars blades, wheels, and mat strips
Ribbon
Punches
Embellishments
Vellum tape and poster tape
Pearl Ex
Krylon Metallic Markers
Brayer
Pop dots
Acrylic Frames for storing stamps
Stickles Diamond Glitter
Glue pens
Crystal 3-D
Stamp Magazines
I went today to use my 40% off coupon. I bought a punch but, they wouldn't let me use it b/c they were already 25% off. I told her that I wanted to use on the reg price not the sale price. She said that she couldn't override it. I didn't feel like agruing about it. I was happy with my 25% off and gave my coupon to my friend that was with me to use.
They did have little bobbins of ribbon for .99 cents.
Good Luck!

I am addicted to stamping!
Even though I love SU! the best, there is always is something at Micheals to get with the coupon.
Some of the things I get when I have a coupon
Albums
Adhesive
Punches
Stazon Pad
Versa Mark Pad
Cutting iteams
My Petite Cropper (someday I will get the big one!)
Maybe something the kiddo wants (he likes their stamps, because they have the Toy Story ones)
Seasonal or Home decor iteam
Yeah when I have a coupon there is usually something I can get with it!
And my SIL gave me her flyer for this week too! I probably won't be able to use all of the coupons I have this week.
I recently saw a demo for the melting pot and had to have one and of course all the goodies to go with it. I've bought my light table, Xyron refills, UTEE, etc. Also, at one point JoAnn's had a fabulous scrapbooking table (Michael's had one too). Fortunately, they had a 50% off coupon at the time so it was $50 vs. $100.
Speaking of coupons, I think it's pretty strange that Michael's will not accept a coupon from one of their biggest competitors (AC Moore), but will accept JoAnn's. Go figure!
I have made all of the following purchases with Michaels coupons:
Things to help organize and use workspace more efficiently:
Ott Lite Floor Lamp
Coluzzle Carrying Case
Hopper Cropper Scrapbook Station
Wheeled Tote
Baskets
Things to enhance my workshops/projects:
Sizzix and die cut templates
Sidekick and sizzlits
Large Lightbox
Coluzzle templates
Xyron 510 and refills
Pasta Machine for Sculpey clay
Clay cutting tools
Fiskars crimper
Magazines
Other items:
Fiskars cutter (similar to SU)
Fiskars refill cutting and scoring blades
Embossing buddy
Heating tool
Prismacolor pencils
mineral spirits
Fiskars hand held punches
Decorative scissors
Case for sizzlits
Watercolor crayons
Making Memories distressing kit
Galaxy Markers
Watercolor paper
ProvoCraft paper Slabs
With Friday's 50% coupon I plan to get the heavy duty Fiskars rotary cutter; not sure yet what to get with 40% coupon..but I know I'll find something!!
I usually use my Michael's coupon at AC Moore. I like that store better. Once in awhile I will find a stamp that I like but I ususally end up using mine on yarn - another one of my weaknesses.
colorful ribbon
fibers
yarn
paper mache boxes
wood pieces
polymer clay
Xyron refills
magazines
books
Sizzix items (however somehow I managed to own all the dies I like, oops). There is lots to get there however a lot of times I kind of run out of getting items I need in there nowadays.
I hope this helps!

I think there stamp section stinks. I can't find just one stamp I like, I always compare to SU.
I like A.C. Moore better, but they just built a Michaels 5mins from my house!
Sue
I just went into Mike's today and left with nothing! The store was a mess, and they had products that were "new" years ago.
AC moore, on the other hand, is a store I cant be near! I could spend a fortune there! It's just so much neater, they have all the latest products, and the service is great.
I like to pick up the 'name brand' things that SU! does carry... like the pearlex powders, empressor stylus, clear embossing powders, mono refils ( I still have the old one) Brayer, my Black Display boards that I use to display my cards, I buy the photo boxes to store hings in in my SMALL craft room! I need to be organized in here!!!!, liquid applique(when we sold it) tiny galss marbles, ..... that kind of stuff, I tend to only buy it if I can use it to benefit me in my bus.
