My DH just said I could buy $150 worth of anything I wanted from SU. Isn't he sweet? So now my mind is spinning!!!!! I just can't decide how to best use my money. I would love to get my ink pads organized, but am leery of the SU caddy (so many mixed feelings on this site). I also am wondering about the ever popular Paisley background, Roses in Winter, and Farm Fresh. Any thoughts on these selections? Also open to any other suggestions too. An opportunity like this doesn't came along everday. HELP!
I really like Roses in Winter. I seem to use it a lot. This site gives so many great ideas for the background stamps, that I just ordered the Paisley myself! I would take a look at the other kinds of caddy's (simply for cost reasons), unless you're a demo, then I would definitely go with SU. If you don't already have the markers, that would be a great choice!
I'm trying hard to not spend too much on sets right now, waiting for the new catty, but ohhh there are some good things out there if you don't have them!!
Take advantage of that March special too!
Every girl needs Shapes and Shadows and Sincere Salutations!
Janie,
My hubby did the same for me at Christmas time. Unless you have a time limit, take your time making your decisions. Write down a list one day, sleep on it and look at it again the next. See if you still feel the same about your choices. Perhaps even a week btwn wouldn't hurt. I had some on my wish list that after this process were removed entirely because I saw that I just wouldn't use them as much. The caddy might be a good choice, but check out all the other possible holders and make sure that will suit your needs. I take my pads (yes, all of them) to crops and things so I needed something that could be packed around and still hold the pads securely.
My 2 cents. Have FUN!! :P

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I am not a scraper, just a stamper. My new favorites are the bag books. I like to use templates alot along with making bags, and "anthing but cards" type of things too. I appreaciate all your help and will make the list and then sleep on it. Of course my hubby will wonder what I'm doing with a list under my pillow-ha ha!!
- Sincere Salutations is a great buy for $10.00. Do you need any of the other 50% off sets?
- Make a list Then the next day start all over and make another list. When doing this I find that there are some sets that I just have to get no matter what. Then other times when I compare the lists I'll see a set listed and wonder just what was I thinking!
wow- how awesome is that? Was this a Just Because gift?? woohoo!!
agree with the others, get Sincere Salutations, it's awesome and look through the gallery for samples on stuff that may catch your eye and make a list - check it twice. Then wait for BROWN to come!!
I would definitely hold on the caddy and get sets and accessories. I think they have other backgrounds much nicer than the paisley but we are all different. I always have a very hard time not spending all my profits on new stamps! The spring mini catalog has nice choices, too!
i'm wary of the caddy for the same reasons--seems people either love it , hate it or don't have it! not much help when trying to decide :?
i adore roses in winter--it's one of my absolute favorite sets. i think it is great for almost any occassion and the images always look so elegant! i'm also rather partial to how easy it is to create stunning cards that look like tons of work have gone in to them but only take a few minutes to make. also makes pretty backgrounds and non-card items. really don't think you can go wrong with this set.
farm fresh is one i've debated myself. i've used it a few times and do like the images, it just doesn't feel as versatile as many other sets i want so it is always getting bumped down my list.
paisley....eh, i don't know. i don't have this one and haven't used it. i know it is supposed to be making a big come-back but i just haven't fallen in love with it. i don't have a lot of current bg stamps but if i were going to get one today, i'd pick canvas.
i agree with others on sincere salutations and any other march specials--what a great deal! hard to pass on those! also nodding at the marker suggestion, i use mine all the time and really think they are the single best investment in the su catalog.
personally i'm investing in accessories right now--$150 will go a long way on those items and they really make a difference in your cards!
About the stamp holder, there are a lot of yeahs & nays on this site. I got the cassette holder from Fellows and I love it. And it holds 100 stamp pads...and was only 7.99 & about 6.00 shipping. I actually saw the same thing at Best Buy the other day for 15.99 and it held 112. Check the threads in here for more info on stamp holders.
Janie- My DH made a stamp pad holder for me. But he made it out of Oak which I love, it is just too heavy to take with anywhere. Last month I went on a weekend stamp away. I took all of my ink pads with me in a paper bag. However as we were cleaning up the stamp room at the Bed & Breakfast to leave I thought I would see if my stamp pads would fit into those soda pop boxes (the new design that fits in the fridge) I was able to fit 28 ink pads in it, (28 of the new SU and a few of the old SU) and it has a built in handle to boot! Just a thought if you only want the SU catty for taking with you places. Plus you could cover the soda box with cardstock and stamp on it.
Just a thought!
I think he just got tired of my puppy dog eyes, (and of course it didn't hurt that we just got the income tax return). He didn't have a quilty conscious or anything. Since I haven't had work in over a year, this puts him in the saint category.
I agree with the last poster. I am going to invest in some accessories and a few of the half price stamp sets for March. (Decisions, decisions, and I have to decide before the 31st!) But I don't own a crimper or the tools for embossing and I think those will make better additions to my collection than stamps. Although I am tempted by the Roses in Winter set myself . . .

What a great guy!! My husband always wants me to have whatever I want. Problem is, I handle the money, so I know my own limitations!!!
Enjoy your spending spree!
