For anyone interested. This is a really great article on Shelli and it highlights not only SU but what it is like to be a working mother and trying to balance home life and a career outside of the home. http://sltrib.com/search/ci_2614579

Wow!! I loved Stampin' Up for it's values and the way they treat people, but that article just confrimed my beliefs that Stampin' Up is the only company to do business with. So glad to be a part of them and I'm not a demo!!

Well said! I completely agree.
Thanks StampinSheryl for sharing this with us. I was already impressed with Shelli Gardner before, but I have a newfound respect for her and this fantastic company I am lucky enough to be a demonstrator for!
What a great article - TFS! Yes, I too, think Shelli is like a "rock star!" I had the incredible opportunity to meet her at Madison Regionals - I didn't even know she would be there - when she came on stage - I started gasping, pointing and shaking my hands like an idiot! I was so excited! To me, she is who she portrays herself as - I've never gotten the fakey vibe from her at all - she was so cool to talk to - a very lovely person. I really love the SU monthly SS just for her articles - I always enjoy reading her column, sometimes even more than the wonderful magazine! She's a wonderful example of following your heart and dreams despite religious teachings and community stares - way to go for goin' for it!

Great article, thanks for posting.
The cream rises to the top, it shows again & again, in people like Shelli as well as our own Duffgirl- who always has something positive to say!
She really is amazing - and has her priorities straight! She sounds very much like my former boss - who is a man (and a lawyer!), and treated his employees very well.
I love it that she followed her heart even though those in her church didn't agree with her. Don't get me wrong - I am a Christian and a SAHM, but sometimes I think church people get way too judgmental about the SAHM thing and don't allow others the freedom to do what God has given them to do. They missed such a great opportunity to celebrate with her!
I'm glad her husband gave her enough support and now works with her. He must be one amazing guy, too!

I noticed something in the article, it mentioned that the stamps are put onto wooden blocks?!!!
LOL! I noticed that too!!
Outside of that minor flaw - the article was great! I sent it to all my friends and when I get home I'm going to send it out to my customers as well. (don't have the email addresses readily accessible....)

Me too!!! It was the same way for me when I met her at the San Antonio Regional. She wasn't able to make it to the Houston Regional a few years back and then I couldn't even get close to her at Convention this past year being 8 months prego, and I blabbed all this to her like an idiot, and she was so sweet, and even if she thought I was a nut, she was really sincere and enjoyed my enthusiasm. The sad part of my story, two people took pictures of me with her and one had her camera stolen and the other was going to email it to me and never has! Talk about being bummed! But I will never forget the experience, even if I don't have proof. Shelli rocks!!!
Companies like SU are very rare. Leave it to a strong, sensistive, caring woman to make it into what it is today. (with support of a great family and friends) Shelli is so compassionate, I can't even imagine ever working with another company.
