Hello All!!! I'm a new SU Demonstator and was browsing the site and getting TONS of ideas. I LOVE the stamping on candles. So, I was curious, can anyone tell me how to stamp on candles? Or point me in the direction of the instructions to do this?
Stamp your image on white tissue paper. Doesn't matter if it's crumpled. Color it with markers if desired. You can also do Poppin' Pastels, or Poppin' Pearls or heat emboss (just be careful!!!)
Cut image out. Put a little glue from a glue stick onto the back of your image. Stick it to the candle. (this just helps it to not move around too much)
Wrap candle in wax paper or parchment paper(I prefer parchment). Heat with heat gun until you can see the wax melting through the tissue paper, moving the heat gun a LOT! You can also use a blow dryer for this, but it takes longer.
Roll candle around in parchment paper/wax paper afterwards until it cools. This helps smooth out any drips, etc.
When you are all done doing your candle you can apply a thin coat of mod podge to the candle and roll it in glitter. Then I took my heat gun and *very* lightly set the glitter into the candle.

One thing I found out too is that if you carefully tape tissue paper to cardstock, you can run it through your computer printer and it will print on the tissue paper....... Just make sure it is taped on flat and tight so it doesnt jam. I made some really cute votive candles for a special event this way. HTH!
Quick question, can you burn these after they are made? I am sure someone will ask me this once I give it to them I just would hate to say yes and then with the tissue paper, etc. it cause a problem. Personally, if someone gave me one like this, I wouldn't want to burn it but want to be prepared.

Mod Podge is a brand name for a waterbase sealer, glue and finish for all surfaces. You can get it in craft stores. It's applied with a brush or sponge applicator and dries in 15-20 minutes. It cleans up with water while still wet but once dry, Mod Podge can't be removed.

Yes you can burn them, just don't leave them unattended. What some people do is drill out a hole in the top and put a tealight in the hole and light it. Or burn down the pillar enough to hold a tealight.

You can also run ribbon thru the printer like this too. For my dd's 11th b-day invites I did a tag & on the top I printed Stephanie's 11th & printed it out onto the ribbon. Everyone asked how I did it. I used the function on the computer that put the text up & down & ran the ribbon long ways down the paper to help it slide thru better & not get jammed & have dh mad at me for jamming the printer w/ ribbon...lol

I tried this tonight and it worked! I'm also a PartyLite consultant so needless to say I have candles EVERYWHERE! It's very easy with regular ink. I found the embossing powders a bit tricky so figure I'll stick to the regular inked stamps. You can't even tell there was tissue paper on the candle when you started. GREAT POST and THANK YOU!
