Default SU Tool Punch(Double Circle) on Page 222

Just wondering if anyone has this tool. If so how do you like it?
Can this tool be used with any width ribbon?

Thank you for any information you can give me.

My demo just introduced this punch to me at my last party. She should have pointed me to it early! I seriously don't know how I lived without it. Actually - I do - I always had crooked bows! I highly recommend it. The whole size should be listed there - I think it is probably 1/8"??

I often use my 7/8" organdy with it and it works fine. Definately worth $5!

My thought for this punch was also to insert sucker sticks into cards esp for Valentines. Has anyone tried this?

You use this punch and then you thread the ribbon through the holes to tie a bow, it is the only way I can do bows b/c I am ribbon chanllenged...it is a great little punch

as for the sucker sticks it would be good for that also but there is just a little area in the you can punch so it would have to be a fairly thin width piece of paper I think

In the SU Catalog it says:
"The Double Circle punch on page 236 provides holes for perfect placement. Simply punch, thread the ribbon through the holes and tie a bow"

Oh, you mean on the page with the ribbons. P236. I have never read that at the bottom of the page. Good tips.
That sounds like a great punch to get. I'll have to treat myself to that. I have a lot of problems with a bow, too.

At every workshop I have demo'd - I have sold one of these to every customer. It is a neat little punch and for the price - why not??

I use it quite frequently as well.

A little tip that came from Atlata Regionals, the perforated part of the order form is perfect for aligning eyelets also!! THanks for the tip, I know what else I'll add to my order.

I love this as well. I use it for all ribbon and cording. I prepare a lot of gift bags (using the brown or white lunch bags) for my kids' programs at school and this works great. It goes through the mulitple layers of the bags well. Absolutely my most used punch.

Default double hole punch

I've looked at this punch and decided it wouldn't offer the versatility that I need for bow placement....this tool would be wonderful if it was offered as a "long-reach" style. The way it is you are limited on how far into the CS you can reach to place the holes.
Maybe one of you demos would make this suggestion to SU?

I have also seen some "faux buttons" made with the double punch & our circle punch, then threaded with ribbon as a button would be, but on a card...cute

Do you mean threading the grosgrain through the holes made by the punch? If so then yes i have only used the grosgrain, it is much easier if the end is cut at an angle but it works great, again the only way i can tie a bow!!

I also wish this was offered in a long reach style!!

Default Double punch

Like mentioned above, I don't know how I ever did it w/o the punch. I have felt so much better about eyelet placement and ribbons being straight. Would recommend to ANYONE![

I don't know if I should be thrilled or glum.

Another "want" for my list.

Good idea Debra, my eyelets aren't always evenly spaced.

I'll share a fun trick with you that I picked up at the Regional Training Seminar. The little tear strip at the top of the order form has holes in it that are just the perfect size to line up your brads or eyelets.

I never really saw the versatility of this punch either, but now you've all got me thinking. I, too, was figuring that without it being long reach, you couldn't do much of the kind of ribbon-tying that I do (near the middle of a card front). BUT--could you punch the two holes in the middle of a 1/2" circle that had also been punched, thread the ribbon through it, tie the bow, and then mount it with a mini glue dot? Of course, the circle would show out from behind the bow...maybe it's not a workable idea after all...

Default floss threader

Here's a great little tip... if you have trouble threading your ribbon, like I do, use a floss threader... like you use for flossing a bridge or braces... they work wonderfully and no more frayed ends with the organdy ribbon. They come in a cute little plastic case that snaps open and it works perfect for keeping them handy wherever you go. You can use one forever... or until you lose it!!

You can also put your ribbon in backwards and criss cross in the back and then bring it back through the holes in front. You then have a loop in front with ribbon tails on each side.
