Default Something new to use for cards (and scrapbooking)!

I'm so excited! I went to Michaels today for the first time in about a month, and they were having a sale. I was poking around in the clearance section and found a package of ten moire satin wedding place card frames for only $2.99! At less than 30 cents each, I had to get them.
I took the easel back off and used the padded satin to frame an image that I had colored with Pearl Ex powder using my new Niji Waterbrush (On sale for $3.84 each!) filled with Future floor wax. It's so nice to find something new to use with stamping! And I still have 9 more to use!

Sound really neat. I'd love to see it. I am also interested more in the floor wax and pen...

I uploaded the card tonight. I used the rose from the Flower Garden Hostess set. The Pearl Ex with Future is a great technique. This was my first attempt, but won't be my last.

Floorwax and Pearl Ex? Now that's one I haven't heard. Can you explain a little more about this technique.

Thanks!
Dawn

Nevermind, I found it!
Very Nice! I'll have to go check out our Michael's for these.

NoleGirl93,
You fill a water brush such as the new SU! AquaPainter (I bought a Niji at Michaels on sale for $3.84!) with Future floor wax, dip it in the Pearl Ex powder, and paint your stamped image. It's an easy technique that produces a very nice effect, but doesn't show up very well on scans. The best thing is that you don't have to seal the image as you would usually.

Happy Heart, I found that sale on Aquabrushes as well! I actually tried to buy it with my 40% off coupon and then to my surprise it rang up at 50% off. Needless to say, I went back and got a 'few' more! I was so excited!

Thanks for sharing about the Aquabrushes! My DH and I stopped in there to pick some up. It did not say that they were on sale, just the open stock paint brush sale sign. My DH checked for me and they were so he asked how many I wanted. I said 3 and he said, why don't you get a couple for backups? He's so great! I ended up with 5 of them! Now I just need to play around with them. For those that have these, do you store the floor stuff and the bleach in the pen or do you drain them each time? Thanks!

Default KEWL! I GOTTA try this!

Thanks for posting it!

Now I have ONE more KEWL thing to add to my shopping list. Just had a 40% off cpn arrive today for Joann's, but all the craft stores around here will honor it, so I KNOW how I will spend it!
LOL

Do you leave the floor wax right in the pen when you use this tequnique? Maybe you can tell us a WEE bit more, so we newbies know how to pull it off, K?

Love this idea with the satin frames! I've used the floor wax technique but not in the aquapainters, can you leave it in there or should you clean it out right away?

I've had floor wax in mine since I bought it about a year ago now. I've never had any problems with leaving it in there. I do store it in a caddy with the brush side up, so the floor wax is just in the tube part.

I would think that if you use bleach in it you should drain it out after each use though.

As stated in the previous post, a lot of people leave the wax right in the brush. I'm going to, because I bought mine so inexpensively, and I figure I can clean it with ammonia if I need to. That's what you have to use to get the Future build-up off your floors, so I'm sure it would clean the brush.
I going to leave the bleach in my other brush, too. I just don't want the bother of having to empty it every time I use it. (I'm lazy that way!)
