Default Ultimate Ribbon Storeage

Hate to direct people away from this site, but this idea is just too good not to share.

http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.a...yout_id=477470

Keep in mind it only works with up to 1/2" ribbon.

That's how I store all my thin ribbons. I have one completely full and the other embellishment box is 3/4 full. I wish they made one of thicker ribbons.

What are we talking on price? Anyone know - I could probably look it up somewhere, but I am not sure how many items we are talking about...

I've seen this before and really liked it, but I must show my newbie status....how the heck do you make one of these? Can it be purchased?

I got mine at www.scrapbooking-warehouse.com, the case was 10.23 and the embellishment boxes are 12 for 2.33

I am assuming you have to take the ribbon off the roll because the boxes are only 1x1 inches, will SU's ribbon fit?

anybody see this one:

http://www.craftlocker.com/index.php?main_page=index

I would not use these for wheel storage but for ribbon they look ideal.

Ideal because they interlock (so I can stack them) and can be hung from the wall. I also like that there is no dowel.

Now if they would only get production in line with demand!

You know I have a $20 credit at a scrapbook store and didn't know what to buy (I know you all must think I am crazy but I have so much basic scrapping stuff already so I am trying to use all that up and only buy stuff I need for certain situations) but I might have to invest in this at the scrapbook store...I just seem to keep buying ribbons....

Plus I save all my cores to give to my girls daycare class - with some glue/tape, rice or beans and some cardboard the kids have musical shakers

Why wouldn't you use these for wheel storage? I was actually thinking about purchasing the wheel one and the ribbon one when they become available. I've not been using wheels very long so I'm just curious as to why not to buy this (always good to know before you spend money needlessly). Thanks.

I use bobbin spools I bought at Walmart - sewing section. They hold a bunch (30 wheels per unit) and can mount them on the wall. They are easily accessible (very important to me), and do not roll around so I know what is where.

I would not want the craftlocker for wheel storage as they would roll around, and when I create I need that wheel NOW; I dislike having to hunt for something.

Here's a link to the picture. The bobbin/wheel storage unit is in the upper right corner; the pic is actually how they are catalogued. I am visual and prefer to leaf through images of the wheels versus looking at the rubber.

Default cropper hopper embellishment box

Hi everyone: I have one of these boxes & have my ribbon in it. It is one of the best ideas around for ribbon. If you have an Archivers near you they have both the box & the mini boxes that go inside to store your ribbon in. Michaels does have the embellishment box, but not the mini boxes for the inside. I did buy another one to put little stuff in, button, jewels, etc. because you can write on the labels & you know where you have put those little bitty things. Great !!!!

Look perfect and just what I'm looking for but...do you have to take the ribbon off of the spool?!? Will it hold our wide orgnady ribbon? If so I am buying one today and sharing it with everyone I know!!!!

I just don't want to take my ribbon off of the spool!

Thanks!

You do take them off the spool and they only hold about 3-5 yards. So maybe the middle ground is to leave them on the spools until the are about 1/2 gone and then consolidate.

Cindy,
Thanks for your suggestion. Your room looks great. I'll have to take a look next time I'm at Walmart.

Thank-you for sharing this find! I love this and how smart. I have two of these with maybe hundred tiny boxes and when I bought them I just knew I'd need them one day! And I was right. I love it when I'm right.
