Do I need to clean it (if so, how) or replace it?
When I spray my mist on one said and then dry it on the other side it is leaving black smears on my stamp. I'm guessing I cleaned a stamp after using black and it has left some behind. What do I do?
If you have the Stampin' Up pad, both sides come out and you can wash them in the sink with soap and water. Let them dry and snap them back in. If they get really bad, you can buy replacement pads. if your pads don't come out, you can put the whole thing in the sink and wash it. I usually clean mine pretty often.
I can't tell from reading your post, but it sounds as if you may not be cleaning your scrub regularly. The best thing to do is take it to the sink & clean both sides thoroughly with dish soap & rinse well after every stamping session, otherwise the ink that comes off your stamps will build up on the scrub & transfer back onto the stamps you're trying to clean.
I put mine in the dishwasher once so far to clean it and let it air dry on my counter. Yeah I am guessing I if you cleaned it after using black that is probably why it is leaving black on your stamp when you're trying to clean it. I must say I rarely use black just because it seems to stain your stamps and because it just seems to leave residue on the stampin' scrub. I end up using like Night of Navy instead. I know I am crazy
They do warp in the dishwasher if you let them dry, but it's not that big of a deal. The little tabs that you put them under to lock them into place hold them flat once they're back in the case. I put mine in the dishwasher all the time, and I dry them every time too.
I can only get one side out! Anyone else have this problem? So I wash the whole thing...
I am guessing you can only get the side with the bigger tabs out right? What I do to get the other side out is get my stylus and poke it under the pad and kind of make a little space so I can get my finger under it to pull it out.
I don't take my pads out of the Stampin' Scrub when I put it in the dishwasher....I just separate the 2 sides and the whole thing goes in!!! Never had any problem!

That's right! Why do they make them different, anyway? One of these days I'll put more effort into getting it out. I just got the feeling it was meant to stay...so I didn't push it. Or-er-pull it. :lol:

Unfortunately, one has to be smaller. If you see how it snaps together, the smaller side slides into the larger side.
When you wash your scrub, it may shed. Don't be alarmed...it will stop shedding once you've washed it a few times.
Also regarding not being able to get the bigger one out, once I got mine out the first time, I use a circle punch on the edge and punched a half circle out of one side...now I have place to get my finger in there to pull it out!

I hand-wash my scrub so frequently that I don't attach the pads, I just lay them inside. It makes the washing quick and easy...anyone else do that? BTW one of my pads is separating from the plastic backing, anyone have this problem?
I scrub mine with dishsoap and a toothbrush fairly often. I never take the pads out. Last night I soaked it for a short time in a bleach/water solution. I had never done that before, but I have a friend who uses bleach for everything and she suggested it. I have the old white pads (what were they thinking? )
I scrub mine all the time. Last night at club the ladies transferred ink after it was scrubbed onto my pad. When I ran it in the sink it was dark. It amazed me how fast it got icky. DEMOS, clean it after every club because I have one pad that got ink transferred and I was .

Hi, I'm new here, and I'm sorry if someone has answered this before but since it's relevant to this thread: How often do you wash your Stampin' Scrub?
I've only stamped three cards but already I have a black residue appearing on my stamps after using the Stampin' Scrub with the mist. And, after reading this thread, I realize that it's probably because I used the Basic Black ink today. What I'm thinking is, it might be a good idea to have two Stamping Scrubs, one for black and one for other colors? Or else I'll have to wash the Scrub after every use?
What I did today was clean and then stamp the cleaned stamp onto a scrap piece of paper. But I'd hate to have to do that every single time!
To those of you who put their scrubbers in the dishwasher - do you rinse the scrubbers before you put them in? Does the ink leave any kind of residue on your dishes.
Yeah, yeah... do we have to revisit my confession??? I put mine in the dishwasher and it warped, (yes, top rack), and then I tried to flatten it in the oven. :oops: It might have worked if I didn't get distracted for a half hour... :shock:
Glad to know about the fuzz, because I had bought replacement pads before I melted mine, and I was upset because there was fuzz all over my stamps no matter what I did. I ordered a new one just this week... I won't put it in the dishwasher or the oven... I promise.
The fuzz on the Stampin' Scrub is normal when it is new; it can be removed by washing it before it's first use, or, since I was in a hurry, I used an attachment and vacuumed it, then used a sticky clothes lint brush on it.
I wash my black pads in the dishwasher, and I think the bleach in the detergent is making them gray instead of keeping them that beautiful black velvet, but I will never go back to handwashing--took way too long to be thorough. I'd be glad to try the posted idea keeping the pads in the holder (even easier!)
I totally agree with the suggestion to get as much ink off the stamp by multiple stampings onto scratch paper before washing it with the Scrub. After washing and drying, I stamp again onto scratch to see if its clean.
I have an older Scrub I've demoted to use with Craft ink. (So far I haven't any trouble with Versamark gunky up my best Scrub).
I love the Stampin' Scrub (can you tell? my username was inspired by it)!

I've never put mine in the dishwasher or used soap on it. All I've done is what my demo taught me which is spray with warm water with the kitchen sink sprayer. It seems to work - - - I think!
