Default Need Help with flat marbles

I saw a card in the gallery that used the set "A little Love" and a flat marble. I bought clear flat marbles and they are too small. Can anyone tell me where they get their little glass clear flat marbles?

TIA

I've gotten bubble magnet kits from Vippie. The kit comes with 10 flat glass bubbles, 1 magnet sheet, 1 double stick sheet and complete instructions. The size of the marble is approximately 1 1/4" x 1 1/4". Check out their website at www.vippies.com.

Default flat marbles

Me too! I actually wanted to use them to make magnets, and found small ones that are used for putting in the bottom of vases, but they're either too small, or too big. I looked at a big craft store, but that's all they had. Plus they didn't have button magnets, either -- where to look??

Thanks!

Default flat marbles - where to buy

I bought my small flat marbles at the dollar store and found the larger ones(about the size of 50 cent piece) at Jo Ann's Fabrics. Before you rush around and look for the "right size" flat marbles, dump out the entire sack you have and test them all....I discovered that the ones in my sack from the dollar store varied in size as well as shape (some were smaller and round, others were larger and oval, etc.)
I sorted out the oval shaped ones to use over top of the fish bowl in Little Hellos and they were darling (cased the card from SCS, naturally!) You probably have exactly what you are looking for in the sack of marbles you have, you just didn't know it!
Happy sorting!

If you go to my gallery and look under the comments of my heart magnets there is a reference to a website to buy them. They also have them in Garden Ridge but I am hearing that this store is not nationwide. I know Micheals only carries the small not the 1 1/4 inch needed for alot of the stamps. You can use the small ones but it has to be a set like bitty bolds or something like it.
Good luck!

I got a cheapie bag from Walmart, and they sell the sticky magnet tape in a roll also. I have found that the round magnets work better though, because the stones are a little on the heavy side. They are all a little different shaped, but the little love set stamps are perfect size. I just stamped my image, picked a stone and put it over the image, centered it and then traced around it with a pencil. Then I cut slightly inside the line I drew. Another thing I do is sprinkle some DD glitter on the glue before I adhere the paper to the stone. Not too much though, because then the words are hard to read.

What glue do you use to stick the glass to the paper? I found large pebbles at the stamping convention, and small ones at Michael's, so I have all the materials but I'm not sure which glue to use.

Try looking in the plant section of your craft store that is usually where the big ones are hiding!!

I haven't made these before( I want to) but I think most people just use a little dab of crystal effects. Let me know if that's not right, before I try it and screw it up. LOL

Yes, I use crystal effects. I'm not sure if the liquid glue works, I've never tried it...

Wal-Mart and JoAnn's
The small marbles I use fit over the magnifying glass in Toy Box and the fish bowl in Little Hellos.

HTH!

One thing I forgot to mention about the Crystal effects...I put a blob in the middle, and the 'smush' the marble onto the paper...if you don't put it in the center, it blobs out everywhere...

Before I knew crystal effects would do it I used silicone sealer. It works great, but why not use "our" products so you can get the sales from all those customers that are so wowed by them?

What glue do you use to stick the glass to the paper?

I use the cardboard that comes with the box of SU!catalogs. There are 2 - 8.5 x 11 sheets in the box - one on top, one on bottom. I stamp on the white side, all my stamps I'm going to use for magnets, glue on my marbles with the CE and when it's dry, I just cut them out. When I use the small marbles for magnets, you can really get a lot of them on 1 sheet. I use them as prizes for demonstrations. ~Pam
