I just got this stamp set and Im a little hesitant to mount the large stamp. I was wondering how other people mount this stamp. Did you just mount it as one large stamp or did you cut it apart and mount is as 3 separate stamps. Just wondering.
Thanks,
Stephanie
I cut it apart....if you have a hubby handy with a saw he can cut the big block into 3rds, or you can for a few $$ go to Home depot and buy a peice of wood and they will cut it for you to size you want...they wouldn't cut my block, said it was too small so a dear friend bought my a peice of wood and they cut that to size I wanted for just the price of the wood....I sanded the edges and mounted the 3 images put the stickers on the tops and voila`
Interesting- I had no idea that was one giant stamp until this thread. I guess I'd never looked at the "number" of stamps in the set. Wonder why they did it that way.
I agree with Dorinda. I cut mine apart and have used it many more times because I didn't waste time masking or coloring the background I wanted or even cutting the images apart. I was hesitant cutting it at first, thinking I would devalue the set, but now that I've done it I actually am getting the use out of the set.

I was surprised when I read that they were all together; that set is now at the top of my wishlist and I will definitely be mounting it separately when I get it! Thankfully, DH has a nice saw downstairs!

DS was asked about the reason for this at one time, and the idea is to make it really simple for making christmas cards. It will cover most of a cardfront with just one stamp.
I'll join the chorus - I, too, had DH cut the block into 3 pieces so that it will be 3 separate stamps. Much more versatile that way and no masking to get the panel I want to stamp!
I cut my stamp into 3. I have recently decided to go unmounted, so I put vinyl cling on mine. If you don't have anyone to cut your block, you could put vinyl cling on the back and use your wooden block as the mount. The vinyl cling will stick to the picture sticker that goes on the block. I am sure that explanation is as clear as mud.
I mounted mine together on one block... I find it's so quick and handy to mass produce cards this way. I stamp a whole sheet of card stock with this stamp, then watercolor the images and then cut them out individually and mount them on cards. You can see one of the cards I mass produced here: http://imagine-dream-create.blogspot...christmas
Cut it, love it, don't think I'll ever regret it. I used this stamp for a swap and hated wasting the paper stamped with the other images when I just wanted one. Masking is a pain and I love just grabbing the one image I need. :-)
also cut mine in 3.I posted also that i was looking for wooden blocks(gave the dimensions) on the BUY/SELL/Trade page and got 3 blocks very inexpensively that are SU blocks!(quite a few people are looking to get rid of their wooden blocks) i am pleased with my choice to cut it apart...

I also had my husband cut mine into 3. I didn't realize it was one stamp until it arrived and I was sooo nervous at the thought of cutting it! I got over that, tho. This just makes it so much easier to use -

Well Thank you to everyone. I did decide to cut mine in three and I had my dh cut the block (he has enough tools)hehe. I love it. I think I will love being able to use it in better this way.

Good for you! I love mine since I had the block cut also. Tried it the other way first and didn't like it as one piece at all.
Now you've gotten your dh involved in your addiction, so what you spend is partly his fault, right? Very sneaky!
I'm happy to see all the feedback on this question. I have this set coming my way and wondered about cutting it into thirds or not. Sure seems the way to go. Thanks.
