Yay for you Amanda!!! If you get yours sent out today after just receiving it yesterday I am impressed!!! It took me forever to figure out what stamp sets I wanted!!!
Last year they did 15% off if you signed up in July or August so they did a booming sign up period this time last year too.
A friendly fyi about "picking" ~ my 4 item order was in picking all week and just shipped today. Don't stress too much if it stays there for a while. Good luck!!
I have been thinking for a couple of weeks now and Keri had sent me a pdf file so I could see the kit contents while I was waiting for my paperwork.
The one thing I cannot decide on -- which color wheel cartridge? I don't want pink and I have burgundy, real read, and bordering blue already. Any suggestions?
I have: Love Swirls, Joy of Spring, and Swirl Style. I plan to get Whirly Twirly in my kit. The Creamy Carmel sounds like a good suggestion -- then I would have a more neutral color available to use.
I know it is boring, but I went with the basic black. I might also recommend gray as they are both very neutral. Keep in mind too that you can order more for your first order and get the 30% off .
If you get the black you can always add a little color to brighten things up.
Congratulations, Michele! Hope your kit comes soon...mine came a few days ago! 'Course, I'm still mostly just looking at rather than using it, because the arm is still in a sling. I did manage to mount the stamp sets though, so when I can stamp I'll be all ready! Meantime, I just look and plan...
I thought about black... at some point I thought I read that the black cartridges are not great for scrapbooking, which I do a lot of! Has that changed since we now use the classic reinkers for the cartridges?
Mooresville is about 25 miles to the north of Charlotte ~ a city I will NOT go to without a really good reason I might add. I thought after 40 years of living with LA congestion I could handle it, but I left that ability somewhere in New Mexico I think! Mooresville is where all the race shops are, nice town and far less expensive than Charlotte. What's bringing you out here?
A black cartridge is a good investment. There so many things you can do with a black cartridge.
I have seen people use black cartridges in their scrapbooks. I would think it would be a good color to use as you can always add more color with chalks, pencils, etc.
My DH got a new job (he is a radio engineer for a fairly well known Christian radio program) and the ministry is preparing to move to south Charlotte -- the Pineville/ Ballantyne area.
I hate driving in LA -- I won't touch the freeways so I don't venture far from home without DH. I though Charlotte would be better and I might actually drive... but I don't expect to have much reason to head into Charlotte at least first with DH.
Please pray for us -- we have been patiently waiting (ok, DH has been patient, I have not -- just ask Keri!) for our relocation plans. DH has a meeting with the VP today and we are expecting a date or at least a time frame this afternoon.
Pineville isn't that bad. Charlotte is worse than LA. The drivers are very different too. Oh, and get your CA plates off your car ASAP ~ I swear people would seriously mess with me when they saw those  If you don't like driving in LA, you won't like it here. The biggest difference is our highways here are smaller than Sepulveda Blvd ~ they are two lanes each way. Very different. And they are very fast. If the posted is 65, people are doing 85. Very scary. And there are a lot of two lane roads ~ very unlike CA. But you'll adjust, I did. Just a friendly FYI, not meaning to scare you off. It's beautiful here!! And I have no regrets moving!! I'm just still adjusting to the big differences.
Black is a very good choice! You'll love it when you get your kit!
ugh.. DH is not going to be happy about me not wanting to drive on the freeway still... oh well, like I said, I probably won't have much of a reason to venture off of close to home surface streets by myself much anyway.
Oh ~ that's the advantage here! You practically can get every place on the surface roads and avoid the highway. It's the highway that's scary. On the surface roads you just can get stuck behind tractors and farm equipment. I can get to Charlotte without going on the highway, but it takes an hour. You'll also get lost because once you leave CA, north and south are in different places than where they are in CA.
CA has freeways that run "east/west" that are actually north south. And they have north/south freeways that run east/west in Southern CA. Here I have to stop and find the ocean and South Carolina. In CA the ocean was "north" of us which was actually west. Very confusing.
I know I'm a little late in this thread... but I have been waiting all day to post. I am frequent "guest" lurker during the day, b/c I can't/shouldn't sign in at work (need to keep my job to pay for my stamps, right?!) But I saw Michele's opening post, and it made me go and find the number to call. As she said earlier... I'm official too!! I got my demo id number and now my order says it is closed. Hopefully that means I will get my package sometime soon over here on the EC, so I can finally get started... so exciting!! Just had to join in on the thread!! Hopefully I won't be too far behind you, Michele! :P
OK girls, I'm sorry to keep this going, but you are the only ones who I can tell about this (dh doesn't know I signed up :( ). I just checked and my starter kit will be here tomorrow!!!! I am so excited you just wouldn't believe the anticipation. I am so glad I only have to work a half-day tomorrow!!! I want to be here when the man in brown drives up!!!!
