I have been wanting to do this project for weeks now, ever since I got 20 notebooks at Target for 12 cents each!
Wasn't that a great deal?? I think I drove myself crazy trying to convince myself that I didn't need to buy them out..... hahahahah.
Have fun with them!

Thanks for posting this! I'd been looking for some instructions. I too found comp. books at Target for 12cents and bought 30 of them.
Too good of a deal to pass up!
Thank you for this info. I have done these books but there were some things that didn't go as well as I wanted it too and just couldn't get my brain to figure out an easier better way. But your brain apparently works that way and thank goodness for that!!! Again, thanks for putting it in words and pictures so we can have these easy to follow instructions. Mary
Thank you so much, Trish! I'm very grateful as well, since I also bought an embarassing amount of the comp books at Target, too! Now I just have to get busy!
Thanks for the GREAT tutorial, it will really take the guesswork out of my first attempt. BTW I did not get the 12 cent books at Target and am completely jealous of all of you who did!!
Trish - would you mind sending me the directions directly. I can't open this file for some reason. Cindy - [email protected] (who obviously missed the sale at Target - but did get the 24 pack of Sharpies for $8 and was quite excited!)
Trish,
This is actually my first message and it's perfect that it's to you. I receive the weekly inkling and found your link. I absolutely love the step by step instructions on this. I really appreciate it. My comp. book turned out great thanks to you instructions. Once I saw the link two weeks ago, I've been wanting to do it. Finally I found time today and it looks fantastic. If my phone took better pics, it'd be up to show you. I just wanted to say thanks so much for the help, not only that you give me, but everyone that took on this project.
Monique
What a great set of instructions. One question for some of you that have made these, do you think they would be worth making a couple for a Market Day for our Homeschool Group and if so, how much do you think would need to be charged to make it fair for everyone? Thanks for your help.
WOW! I can't believe my directions were worthy enough to get mentioned in the Weekly Inkling! I am so giddy with excitement! Wouldn't you know that's the ONE week I didn't have time to read it and it just kept moving farther down in my inbox...
I am so glad you all are having fun with my directions and those wonderful .12 Target comp books - hahahah.
Gail, if you will email me directly or PM me with your email addy, I'll send you the file that way.
Happy Halloween everyone!
Trish

This is so great! I have a composition book in my possession for a few months to make as a gift for my sister, it's now turned into a Christmas gift!
I can't wait to try it!
Were those instructions clear or what? It's so amazing when you have pictures to go with the instructions. Everything clicks. I love it. I have made several Journals with disasterous results. Couldn't get the paper to stay in place. I had tried lots of things, but never red liner tape. How did I ever survive before I found it!!!! And I have struggled trying to get the paper to go into the pen. Trisha is using more paper than I ever did.
I didn't know what the family members were going to get this year for Christmas, but now I do. Sorry I missed the sale at Target.
Your directions are awesome - I have made one for each kid on my list this year - up to the age of 17! It is great, with a difference in embellishments, it fits every age. Thank you for sharing.
How generous to share this information. I think I have time enough to try one. I hope it works! Your directions are certainly clear - any problems will be operator error (or lack of the right supplies.)
Wow! Thanks so much for posting this! I've done comp books before, but I always mess up the corners. Your tutorial should fix that problem! Thanks again!
