what stamp set do you think is most versatile for men.
I want to buy a mens stamp set if you had to buy one or two which one would you buy. That is really versatile for men.

It's someone who buys stamps they didn't normally like at first, only to see it in Split Coast Stampers gallery in a different perspective.
I just bought the Noble Deer (I think that's what it's called) for this exact purpose. All of my stamps were too feminine and I do have men in my life I need to send cards to!
My DH also helped pick out the stamp set so I had a male viewpoint on what was "acceptable" and what wasn't!
My upline suggested Simple Shapes, but I think any of the geometric ones would do. That's what I ended up buying and I'm pleased with it. I think it's more versatile than many other of the "manly" sets.
Coast to Coast with Sincere Salutations - My ladies loved it! Someone recently posted information about each lighthouse and pictures of the real thing too.
I love In The Wild. That set works great for adults as well as children. If you look in the gallery there are also cards made for babies using the elephant in pastel colors.

I have a very hard time with this because my guy isn't the "typical" man -- he doesn't hunt, fish, and isn't into cars...so I haven't yet really found something that fits him (or the other men in my life for that matter).
I would love a "library" set -- like a large bookcase with books, a stack of books, that kind of thing -- would be right up his alley!
But to answer your question, you need to think about what your guy(s) like and do your best to find one that goes...I think as long as it is something they like, you'll find a way to use it differently so it doesn't get boring.

My friend just got Set Sail and I played around with it a little. It's not something I would buy from just looking at it in the catalog but in person it was very nice. One of the ships has a "frame" around it and you can use an exacto knife and cut if off. I imagine you could use the frame part to put around one of the Stipple Shell stamps, too. Another stamp in the set is 3 (or 4) small ships and if you stamp it 2 or 3 times you can make a border with it. It also looks nice when you do the saran wrap technique with 2 different blues for a background. I'll probably end up getting this set myself. Oh...one of the stamps says "You Touch My Life" and that could definitely be used with many other stamp sets...
Well I decided to stray away from the hunting & fishing stuff which is most of what we offer. My husband was forced as a kid to hunt & fish, so now he hates it. We have a huge boat, but we don't fish, just hang out with friends and swim!! I bought Lovely As A Tree. I wish they would come out with a tool set geared toward the older fellows, so they are realistic loooking!! Maybe 2 sets Mechanic & Woodworking!! Wouldn't that be great!!
Surprisingly, my DH loves Life Cycles! I wasn't going to buy it, but he saw it in the spring mini and said, "you have to get this one!" Guess what stamp set I'm gonna use to make his b-day card?
I love Noble Deer - my DH actually asked me to buy it! I also love Yukon, the classic car one (can't remember the name) and I also have one with ships that's retired. The old Wild Wild West is another good one if you can find it. I think anything "outdoorsy" or related to cars, motorcycles, or boats is great for men.

I like Classic convertibles, I have no hunters or fishermen so I have just ordered the sporting goods. I also use Lovely as a tree alot for men, as well as the "present" from seasons sketches, I do it in Night of navy and kraft paper, that is like my favorite guy combo. I also use that combo with the stipple shells.
