I thought you guys would be so excited about this, but no one hardly looked at my card! I took the glossy CS and all the indgredients for polished stone (3 reinkers, alcohol, cotton ball) Soak the cotton ball in alcohol, wring it out, put your reinker drops on it. Instead of rubbing it on the CS, dab it directly on your stamp and stamp with it. It looks very neat! A few of you have asked what colors I used so... Eggplant Envy, Night of Navy and Brocade Blue. Thank You for all the nice things you have said. I have not had any problem with my stamp rubber getting funky after doing this. I just make sure to clean it right away when I am done. I use the stampin mist, and stampin scrubber.
Very cool! I was planning on catching up in the gallery tomorrow :oops: I will definately comment on this one! I think I might try this as it seems to me to be less messy than the regular technique. TFS
Not to rain on anyone's parade here :oops: But if I'm understanding your directions right, you're applying the alcohol soaked cotton to the stamp? I guess it wouldn't be a bad thing BUT I know too much of it, can damage your stamps. Just thought I would put that out there. Let me know if I'm wrong...

Your card is beautiful! I love the looks that the technique gives. However, I think putting alcohol on the stamp itself will dry out the rubber. I've been stamping 12 years and this has kinda be a 'rule' of sort. After you use this technique you many want to dab the stamp onto a versamark pad and let it sit for a while before cleaning it. The VersaMark will condition the rubber.
As for me, I am going to try it, alcohol or not. I have abused my stamps for years in many different ways with no adverse results. For many years (over 25), I used the same vulcanized rubber molds for lost wax jewelry making and did even worse things to the rubber molds with absolutely no adverse results. So, I am not worried about a little alcohol for a few minutes. I didn't see your card before, but I sure do appreciate you bringing it to my attention now. It is BEAUTIFUL!!! I only thought I loved polished stone before.... Your new polished stone with a twist is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Thanks again for bringing it to our attention.
Love the card, I would just make sure that you use the Stampin' Mist to clean the stamps afterwards, since the alcohol is coming in contact with the rubber!! Just a thought

I tried it with the shapes and shadows last night and that was cute too! I would post that pic, but I forgot to use my embossing buddy, and there was black dust all over the card. That aside, it turned out really cute!
Wow! That is GORGEOUS!! I LOVE the polished stone technique! Never thought to do it this way. Sorry I missed your card in the gallery. I'll have to track it down so I can add it to my favorites.
