Keri ~ I can't help you as far as which to choose. Do you mean like from a bank acct, taking credit card payments, etc? I do know that it is such a breeze to use for making payments. As far as receiving payments thats where I can't help you out. I use it all the time though to pay for stuff.
Man, I'm not much of a help am I? Forget I even posted a reply. LOL
I use the premium account. Turn around is 2 days from the time you enter the card until the money is in your account. Or you can use the credit card they give you.
I have processed many orders and have had no problems. everything has run smoothly (knock on wood)

the problem is that if you take credit cards it will take a fee of of every bit of money sent you! Even the cash! it's about 89 cents to every $20. 2.9% + .30. So i would just stick to the free personal account! you will still be able to send credit card payments just not get them.
There are probably 2 choices for you...
Personal- free, no fees, but you can't accept credit cards
Premiere- not free, but you can accept all payments including credit cards.
I'd suggest starting with the personal account and if you find that people really want you to accept credit cards, you can upgrade. It's harder, if not impossible (or next to it) to downgrade to a personal account.
Edited to add:
I started out with a personal account and upgraded when I was doing regular amount of selling on eBay. I've had nothing but good experiences with it...quick and easy (even if the fees are sometimes painful!)
My bad, I thought you were talking about Propay....I use Propay to process credit cards. Not Paypal....sorry. I have found Propay to be very good. And my cost for doing business with them is very minor compared to the customers that would not have made a large order if they could not have used a credit card.

I too started with the regular account on paypal for ebay transactions. Then people kept trying to use credit cards and got upset when they couldn't so I just decided to switch up to the premium account. It's wonderful easy and it's been nice to have. So I agree, go with the regular first and then see if you'd like to upgrade to the premium.
Thank you all...that is just the info I was looking for and the advice I needed. I am going to start with the personal and then if I need to upgrade I will...you all are great!
LOL I just asked you that in another post!!! Coleton is having a tummy trouble night so we are chillin together reading up on SCS!!! Got to train him right!
I have had a personal account on pay pal for last 3 or 4 years.. can't remember.. It is great... Some people try to pay you with credit/debit cards but understand when you don't take them since they do take that extra fee out of your income, and usually use their bank account then.
