This was in another thread about attaching vellum:
WAYS TO ATTACH VELLUM:
• Eyelets
• Vellum tape
• Ribbon
• Wrap the edges around to the back side of the card stock and adhere there
• Brads
• Small bits of adhesive layered underneath solid or patterned cardstock, overlaying the vellum
• Corner slot punch
• Spray adhesive by Krylon
• Glue dots
• Xyron
Buttons
3M vellum tape• The tape fits perfectly in TAC™GWP plastic box! It’s well protected and can get banged around with out harm.

I just read that you can use Crystal Effects to adhere vellum to cardstock. They say to use your fingertip or Q-tip to smooth it out instead of straight from the bottle.
I'm going to try it to see.
When I don't want to attach vellum with brads or eyelets, I take my 2-way glue pen and run it along the edges of the vellum and then stick it to the card. There is enough glue on the edges to hold it but not enough to show.
Xyron works wonders. Ask my mom. I havent seen her since she got her Xyron machine. Every now and again this voice I hear over the phone goes "can you get me another refill or two". Take it from me the daughter that has been replaced by Xyron, it works great on vellum. Just make sure to feed it through carefully as it can crinkle. Hope this helps please let me know if you happen to hear of a Xyron Anonymous group. :P

I tried both my xyron and vellum tape and both showed through when adhering regular vellum (no design or color to it) to dark brown cardstock. Maybe because the cardstock is too dark? I don't know. I was just dissapointed because I made a special trip to the store to finish my card and the tape didn't work for this project. Oh well, I'm sure I'll just it on other things.
When I have made vellum pockets in the past I've always sewn them on. Looks a lot better than a line of glue!
I have seen this done before and it looks great, but I can barely sew a button back on !!! I want to buy that mini sewing machine that they sell at AC Moore / Joanne's / Michaels, but I don't know if it would be worth it or how well it works.

The mini sewing machines are nice for the price. Also, it's nice that you only use one spool of thread (no bobbin thread). But......you have to read and carefully follow the directions. This is especially true for those of us who are used to regular sewing machines. You have to be careful not to pull the stitches out, hence the need to read the directions which tell you how to do it.
