Can any of the SU consultants tell me what the top 10 stamp sets are? Either for you personally or if the company gives you a list of top 10 for the year. Might help me with my wishlist.
SU's #1 selling set of all times is Nice and Easy Notes, but personally I don't recommend that set ;)
I recommend, if you want to buy 10 sets:
1. Canvas Background
2. Shapes and Shadows
3. In Full Bloom
4. An Alphabet Set
5. Everyday Flexible Phrases
6. Wonderful Words
7. Sincere Salutations
8. Roses in Winter or Watercolor Garden 2
9. Sassy Sayings 1 or 2 (or another of the horizontal greetings like that style)
10. Simply Circles
That's a pretty good variety, IMO. Of course, these are all sets that *I* like ;) so others may disagree entirely!

are you serious? I apologize to those of you that have this set if I'm about to offend you. Yuck! I know that it is a set that can be used for a variety of occasions, but i'll say it again, Yuck. I can't tell you how many times I have passed this set by without a second glance.
I guess this just shows I have bad taste. Maybe that's why a lot t.v. shows I like get cancelled in the 1st season.
I have that set, , and no, I'm not offended.
To be honest, I bought it at my very first stamp party and used them to practice cards until I bought other sets. Since I've gotten my other sets I haven't touched them. I think the appeal for newbies is that they can cover a lot of different things with that set for the price (it's one of the more moderate sets). At first you don't see the use in other sets and are kinda "in the box". Now that I've been practicing and using other sets I can think "out of the box" and switch in and out, mix and match.
I also bought Nice & Easy notes at one of my first workshops because I thought it was a good value (lots of different occations) but seldom use it at all!

I'm glad I started this thread. Well, I've got 3 of the sets listed and I just looked and I don't like Nice and Easy Notes. I'm thinking of maybe adding In Full Bloom to my next order. I checked the gallery and saw a lot of samples that I liked using that set. I was just curious because sometimes I have bought sets and can't come up with much to do with them so I thought a list might help in the decision making process. Sometimes I can't see the virtues of certain sets until someone else points them out to me or I see cards or SB pages using that particular set. Keep the feedback coming, I'm loving it!
HI... I can't limit it to 10 it involves too much thinking...
It depends on what you like...
1. All year cheer 1
2. Wonderful Words
3. Sincere Salutations
4. In Full Bloom/ Botanicals/ Toile Blossom
5. Water Color Gardens/Roses in Winter/
6. Canvas BG/Stipple Plaid/Filigree
7. Lighthouses/Wonderful Wings
8. Shapes and Shadows / All the Best
9. Seaside Sketches/ Summer by the Sea
10. Lovely as a Tree/ Lovely Leaves...
I kept it under 20! of course I have everyone of them...
I too have nice n easy notes... I have had it for 2 years...never cut it...

I personally think Nice & Easy Notes looks dated and they should retire it for that reason if nothing else. The style of it doesn't go with anything else.
Wow! The Kims did such a great job no more replies needed! I have to agree with them.
I think Nice and Easy notes appeals to beginner stampers. Or to people who attend a friends workshop with little interest in stampiong and decide: I feel obligated to buy something....hmmm My kids can make cards for their friends and Granny with this set." That's my opinion on N&EN.

On Stampin Up's website, under FAQ, it says that Simply Spring, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, and Watercolor Garden are the most popular. It goes on to say that Brushstroke Alphabet and Nice and Easy Notes are other top sellers.
This is very helpful info . . . as a relatively new demo I am trying to make a list of "Must Haves" especially for when I earn Stampin' Start and for the SAB promotion. I'd love to see other's list of top 10's or "must haves"! Thanks for the input!

Well, frankly I have Nice & Easy and have probrably used it once. Not a good choice for me. My personal top ten would include:
1. In Full Bloom
2. Roses in Winter or Watercolor Garden
3. French Script
4. Canvas
5. Sincere Saluations
6. Words of Wisdom or Friend to Friend
7. Simple Shapes
8. Simple Sayings II
9. All Year Cheer II (is my personal favorite but any of them would be great).
10. An Alphabet (Alpha Fun Upper personal favorite).
I'm really interested in getting the canvas background. But I can't find it in hte 2004-2005 Idea Book. Is it just user error? Is it in there? If so, can someone give me a page number?

MUST HAVES for me:
In Full Bloom Many, many options here!
Canvas BG Turn white paper into ANY color!!!
Itty Bitty BGs LOVE those spatter dots. They add so much to the card.

It's not in that book. It started out in the Winter Mini and now is featured in the spring mini. I know it's listed as an item number in a description on the bottom of one of the pages in the spring mini. I don't have it on me to give you a page number.

Have to agree with much already posted! N&EN was my first set purchased--back in '98. I sold it not long after, tho'. One of the sets that I've made more cards with than any other is Pocket Fun. Hadn't seen that one mentioned, so thought I'd add my $0.02.
Definately hard to limit it to a list of just 10 favorites!!
I would have to include "Fun with Shapes" in the list of must haves....Have you checked out the gallery on that set....OMG....the cool things that people have made with this set, not to mention great for background paper too.
WOW: Top 10...so hard but here's my vote not in any particular order of importance
1. Fun with Shapes
2. Summer by the Sea or Seaside Sketches
3. Changing Seasons or Coast to Coast
4. Canvas or Just Jeans
5. Brushstroke Alphabet
6. Sincere Salutations
7. Fantastic Foliage
8. Tags & More....I know, I know...but it covers lots of occassions
9. Sketch an Event
10. Water color minis
