Do you own, like, and use these?? $120! They'd better be great. Do you just color in the lines like crayons or do you actually use them on the stamps themselves instead of ink?
My SIL has these - her DH ordered them for her for Christmas. I have borrowed them and LOVE them. You can use them to color in an image, but they are great for coloring directly on the stamp to have a multicolor image or to omit certain parts of a stamp. I want the set, but have such a long list of wants and needs.
In my opinion there is no better purchase than the SU markers. They are AWESOME! I have had mine for almost 8 years. I have not had to replace a single one, they are still in great shape and I use them a lot. I use them for coloring on my stamps, coloring images (like with a crayon), one of my favorite uses is to scribble a few colors on a stamp case (like a palette) and then use my aqua painter to "pick up color" and paint with it.
My advice is to resist buying anything else until you have enough to buy the markers!
That is 2.50 per marker, which is quite reasonable if you buy markers individually, especially really fine quality ones like stampin up makes. I've bought them twice. I bought my first set when I signed up to be a demo, and my second this last year when I found out they had reformulated the dyes in the markers and they were even better. Barely Banana really looks like the cardstock now. It is AWSOME to see such sheer, soft colors in markers. I sent my old set to my sister in Tennessee who is just getting into stamping.
I could NOT live without my markers! I don't have all the ink pads yet so I use them a lot. Since they come with a brush tip and writing tip it's like getting 2 for 1. I've used mine for 2 years and they work like new - the brush tip is very durable and the ink lasts. Be sure to store them horizontal!
Thanks guys! I swear, you all are so sweet and awesome. I have asked a lot questions because I am new. I am looking forward to being here 5 months from now and hopefully I can helping others as well as you have helped me.
Jennifer
I try to pick up a couple each month. I know it is more expensive to do it that way, but there are some colors I just don't use often. I do love them and look forward to collecting them all. I use them all the time.
I have to say I agree with everyone here. I absolutely LOVE my markers! Between myself and my good friend who stamps with me, and my DD who is a natural born artist, my markers are always being used - LOL, and usually a couple missing from my case at any one time.
I'm about to get my first family. I finally decided that I wanted them, but didn't want to buy the whole thing at once. So I found 3 excited friends and started a marker club! :-) We decided that each of us would only be responsible for 1/4 of the markers (plus shipping and tax). Each month, one person would be the "host." That person could choose to bump up the order and get hostess benefits, or just leave well enough alone.
Yea! I'll be getting Bold Bright markers next week! (bounce, bounce, bounce!!!)

I *love* my markers! I use them almost everytime I stamp. Sometimes to color in my image & sometimes to color my stamps. I also like to use the markers for the smackin' acetate tech. I have all the markers & ink pads & sometimes just use the markers instead of getting the ink pad out! IMO the markers are definatly worth the money! Also, if you are a demo they are worth showing! I borrowed my friend's set for a ws & sold 4 sets! If you are not a demo, check with your demo, she might have a marker club you could join! (In the marker club 4 people get 1/4 of the markers each month + paper + hostess benefits 1 time and the cost is spread out over 4 months)
The advantage of buying them all at once is getting that cool case. I know some people that wish they could get it as an accessory!!
I didn't purchase them when I first started stamping, because I could get sets of good markers at Michael's with a coupon. After about three years though, the colors I used most started to run out. Well - I would have had to replace the whole set. That's when I decided to get SU!'s, and sent my old markers to my little sister.
I'm very happy with them.

love love love love love my markers! before having all the ink pads, it was wonderful to be able to use the markers to supplement. plus, it's great to color the stamps (for doing multi-colored images or to only ink part of the stamp). they are expensive, but once you have them you realize they are worth every penny!
I got mine by doing the club thing too. There were 4 of us, we did markers and cardstock. Each month for 4 months a set of markers were ordered, a multipack of each cardstock family was ordered and one package of u/s white and vanilla cardstock was ordered. Each month a different person was the host out of us 4. So each month we would go home with one family color of paper, markers, and u/s white and vanilla cardstock. I want ro say we paid like we just paid like $45 a month, which covered everything and shipping. After the 4 months we all had all the markers in the good case, a pack of each multi-pack of cardstock and vanilla and white u/s cardstock. So it worked out good. I like having the markers
You'll really have 96 markers instead of 48 since they are two markers in one. One wide-tip side for coloring and one fine-tip side for writing. I couldn't live without them!
I just love them! I finally bought them last summer and wish I had done is sooner. I use them alot, from coloring in, journaling (I know, they're not the journaling markers) and inking up stamps.
I love them and I love the case! It's worth investing in both if possible! I know it's a lot to bite off at one time but you'll be so glad you did! It makes a great birthday or christmas gift--that's how I got mine! (thanks mom!)
over the years, each time i have bought a new ink color, i automatically order the marker, the paper and now i get the re-inker too. that way i have everything in that one color. now i have it all! it may have been nice to have the storage container, but i have another way to store them that is working ok. if you can't buy them all at once, than maybe just make the goal to get them in all the colors of ink pads you have, and them keep adding.
some of mine i have had for over 8 years, and they still are juicy - great value!

DEFINITELY! I LOVE the markers! I had ONLY the markers for a couple of years before I started collecting the stamp pads. They are so valuable and if you divide out that price it is not very much per marker. I used them to stamp all the time, just color the image with the brush end of the marker. But they are great for keeping your project all color coordinated. I write the inside of my cards with them as well as the envelope's address, etc. It is a very professional look. You can also scribble on anything plastic, like a stamp box, and then use your blender pen or a watercolor brush, or an aqua pen to use the ink from them for watercoloring - so that gives you even more shades of the 48 colors! They're great!
I love these! I only have the rich regals set, but the other three sets are on my list too.
I have a question though, I just noticed that my night of navy one, the cap wasnt on...I believe I can thank my 22 month old for that. Its almost dead, I need to buy a new one right? There is no way to save it, correct?

I demoed at my Open House for the first tme and two people bought the complete set! They were both new to stamping, never used them before, but they couldn't resist them because of the high quality!
If you went to a craft store to purchase simular you would spend WAY more!
I joined a marker club last fall and am about to receive my final set - Earth Elements! I have wanted this set since I started stamping. They should be here next week. I can't wait.
Absolutely love them. My dh bought me the entire set for Christmas a couple years ago. I use them everytime I stamp and always use them to sign the card in a matching color. I have a hard time keeping my 7 yr old dd away from them..she loves them too. She says her markers "just aren't the same" ! Maybe someday (if I ever finish my wish list) I'll give her my set and get the new ones that have come out since I got mine.

My daughter saved her lunch money until she had enough to buy the entire set. She bought them during Sellabration so she got 2 free stamp sets as well. She is an excellent shopper!! She uses them all the time and everyone loves her cards when she colors the stamps with her markers.
The Stampin' Write Markers are not waterproof, but that's actually an advantage. You can do a lot of cool techniques with markers. However SU does sell the Stampin' Write Journalers which are fade-resistant, waterproof and archival quality if that's what you are looking for.
Do you own, like, and use these?? $120! They'd better be great. Do you just color in the lines like crayons or do you actually use them on the stamps themselves instead of ink?
I don't yet because I thought the same thing but I'm ordering them next. After using them at our stamping ten club monthly for the last 2 1/2 years I decided it's time. I kept making due with my Marvy Leplume (because I already owned 3 sets)and not worrying if the color was right on, but I have finally convince my cheap/frugal self that they are worth it.
Here's an idea, if it really bothers you to spend 120.00 out of your pocket host a workshop and use the dollars of free merchandise to offset your out of pocket expense. Either way you do it I don't think you will be disappointed. My demo explained the marker club idea to us too, just 4 didn't bite.
I LOVE MY SU MARKERS! My customers/friends do to! The " marker club" seems to be the favorite way to purchase the whole set {in 4 easy payments} I'm interested to know HOW many sets you other demos have sold? I'm celebrating 5 years as a demo this mo. and I think my count is at 20!!That's alot of $$$$$ SU should be very happy and proud of their product . MARKER ME HAPPPPPPY!
My DH bought them for me for Christmas 2 years ago and I absolutely love them. They are awesome. I would recommend anyone buying the set, it's really nice.
My DH gave me 200.00 from taxes to spend and I got them plus my free sab sets and much more. I love them !!! I can't wait to demo them!!!!
I have priced markers (other brands) and I feel like ours are a great value. Plus you get the advantage of having all 48 colors. Easy to take to workshops if you are a demo.
I saved my money for a long time and bought them with some extra merchandise during sell-a-bration, and earned three extra stamps sets! If you start saving right now, it is only about $14 a month you would have to save (I am adding in the shipping and Washington state tax), then you could get them next January with two free stamp sets! Add $30 and get another sell-a-bration stamp set and be able to host the party yourself and also get a free hostess set and other free merchandise of your choice! If you can wait that long!?! I love my markers, one of my very favorite SU! purchases ever!
