For those of you who have the new alphabits set, how do you like them? I like all the different fonts, but I'm afraid the small size of those letters would drive me mad! I know you can use the 1/4 inch punches to punch out the letters, but has anyone tried using a larger punch, such as a 3/8 inch one? Is there enough space between most of the letters to use a bigger punch? And how do the letters look when you do that?
Also, how far in do those new punches shown on the same page reach? To get to the center letters, do you have to cut the sheet to reach them?

The only letter I cannot reach with the punches is "N". I punch all the other letters out first, then trim down to punch the "N" if needed. I do like them alot. I think they add a nice touch to a project; although they can be tedious to work with being that they are so tiny.

I don't have mine yet, but in a previous thread, someone suggested cutting the letters into strips. you can reach all the letters to punch what you want, and you can save the other letters for later projects. this might be more cost and time efficient, especially if you run it thru a Xyron first.

I liked mine but a friend had a scrapbooking weekend and wanted to borrow mine. Before the night was out she ordered one so I sold her mine and I have to order a new one. I new I forgot something on the order I just did :( . Bummer have to place another order.

I haven't used mine yet but I plan to ink up only the letters I need with a marker. That way I won't have any letters to keep track of for later and I can stamp anywhere on paper and reach it easily.
I love the look of the Alphabits punched. Did you see the card in the gallery today where she had punched the letters using the square punch on a diagonal so that the letters look like they are mounted on diamond shapes instead of squares? Too cute! Also, I think it's a bargain compared to letter stickers or die cut letters.
I don't know if you can use the 3/8" punch, but I would doubt it. I'll have to try it when I get mine!

used them yesterday at a swap night and didn't like them at all! I absolutely LOVE the different fonts. Hated punching them out. I bet I'd like them MUCH better had I run them through the xryon machine. That may be my inspiration to get them!!! Thanks for the idea JulieHRR

I've had a xyron for probably a year now and had only used it once until I got the alphabits . . . I do love them, but the adhesive seems gummy after I run it through . . is that normal? Is there any way for it to be less gummy?

I have several different ones already stamped and a few letters punched out. I keep them in my paper/sticker binder so they don't go to waste!

this is a great idea, but doesn't the adhesive from the xyron gum up your punch?? I'd love to hear from those who have tried this.

WHAT IF...
I cut out all the letters separate and when I need to make a word (hopefully not with 2 of the same letter) I temporary mount on an acrylic block the letters to spell the word? I wonder if that would be a good way to do it. I'm not sure if I want to punch out those little letters and add them to projects... I'll have to watch the gallery for that set to see if I want the punches...
But I wonder if the above would work ok?
All of my other stamps are mounted on wood, but I wonder if this is one case where I should do the "temporary Mount on acrylic" thing?
I don't have alphabits yet, but I do have several unmounted alpha sets from Rusty Pickle. I LOVE THEM! I can write a word, stamp it, and don't have to worry about spacing. If I need 2 of the same letter, I use the repeated letter to space, move it back and then after I stamp the complete word, I go back and fill in the blank. Easy to line up with the acrylic block.
I must say that I do enjoy a woodmounted stamp best, but I love those little sets from Rusty Pickle! Use them in my scrapbooking a lot!

That is a great idea on how to solve that problem.
Another question... what would be the best way for me to store the Alphabits if I was going to do them this way? I don't want to lose any of them.
