Hey everyone. Just wanted to share the news that we are having our second Stampers meet. The first one we met in Innisfail. DATE: Oct 21 + 22 TIME: 10:00 - ? WHERE: Innisfail, Alberta ( 20 min from Red Deer) COST: FREE SHOE BOX SWAP: depending on how many people and totally optional.
I Hope to see everyone again. If you are interested in coming please post a reply here or pm myself.
I know this isn't the place. I'm looking to see if any canadians (close to home would be nice) that are selling stamps n stuff. I've ordered from the ladies in the US but postage is killer.

Gas prices...blah Blah Blah...
What a downer!
I cannot make him understand how lonely I am for some rubber-minded ladies and some time for me alone !
If anyone ever needs my hospitality in Edmonton, I'm a SAHM and I'm always in the mood to stamp. I'm in Riverbend area and have a very nice rubberstamp collection.
Contact me. please! pass the word.
I don't know how else to say it. Pathetic but true.
I'm most sorry about not meeting all y'all, but close second is missing out on the convention peeks and perks, laderme.
Maybe next year, or I'll organize one on Whyte Ave or at WEM where there is better access for the car-free or time strapped.
I'll tune in for a report on everything that happens when y'all hit the big "I"
have fun

A shoe box swap is when we count up everyone interested doing a project designed by someone else and providing a project, and each interested stamper designs a project and brings enough supplies for everyone (other than the basics like adhesive). Each person does a quick description of what needs to be done, or demo the technique. So tomorrow we have 5, I designed a project, made a sample, and I'm bringing enough supplies for the 4 other ladies to do one too, plus the tools needed. I will go home with 4 projects designed by the others. Clear as mud? Why is it the most simple things are so hard for me to explain.
This time together is just that - time - with minimal cost. There are no fees, everyone brings a small snack to have on site for nibblies and sharing, it is come and go. No stress - only 1 rule -No husbands and no kids allowed. :-D
You bring everything you need to work on your own stuff - you should see the baggage we had in May. And I am sure I was the worst, and I live the closest.
Tell me everything!
what did I miss....breathless,waiting....

:( Bummer, I wish I had seen this earlier. I LIVE in Innisfail (well, just outside of town). If I had known, I could have tried to get in. If you have another, let me know, and I will see what I can do!

My hand hurts, and my back is a bundle of knots
but we powered our way through swaps, Christmas cards, and other goodies.
Christine gave us a wonderful swap making the explosion box with paper accents, Gerri provided us with a sweet card using glass beads, and I did a card using the 'missed kiss' and the new heart set. A few of our group weren't able to make it, so though it was just the 3 of us, we had a chance to really get to know each other.
We shared new stamp sets, gossipped about techniques, and basically had a gay old time.
Our next time together will be October 21st & 22nd - again in Innisfail. We will do the shoe box swap again for those interested. So mark your calendars and plan on joining us. I will pm everyone who expressed interest in this thread when we get closer to the date.

Yup - 10:00 both mornings. But because this is a casual event, if you are a little late, no problem. I just need to know who is coming on what dates so there is a spot reserved for you when you get there.
I supply the coffee and tea. Please bring a bag lunch, or you can pop over to one of our restaurants for lunch.
