I was supposed to have them shipped today, and I went to the viking.com site and they are BACKORDERED! This is probably because about 16,000 people saw the post about being able to get the 120 pencil set for about 40-50 dollars, but THE INJUSTICE!

Nothing. It was all in the price. The first set I ordered the price was $60+, then I found the right codes thanks to someone on this site and reordered for $41.63. I was going to send the first set back, but then I called them and they said they would just credit me for the $20 coupon that they didn't give me the first time (which I haven't gotten yet), and I should just refuse the second order. Well, the second order came and of course I was at work and I didn't leave a note. I didn't know what day they would come, so I just sent the second set back. Still waiting for my refund though. If I don't hear soon, I'll call them back. They are very nice. I hope you get them

This is my first post. Love the site and all the wonderful ideas. Does anyone know if you can still get the rebate for the pencils and if so, how do you get the code?
I just ordered mine last night. I hope I get them. I ordered over the phone and the woman said they should be here on Wednesday. I also got mine for $38.46. I hope you get yours soon, too!
Mine arrived today! I didn't realize they would come in such a large, heavy tin! Now the task of sharpening all of them and putting them in color order. I'm using the color chart that came with the set and putting them together by color family.
I'm just bitter. Viking doesn't ship to Canada (I'm thinking about having them shipped to my BIL in NY, but any idea on how much it would cost him to send on to me -- how heavy are these things?)
The box (I don't know about the tin) weighs about 3 or 4 pounds--I got them sent from Colorado to Ohio regular first class mail for about $5--hope this helps.
Thanks Heather. I think I'll call the BIL tonight (only problem is when he tells DH I'm dragging him into my stampaholism). I detect a family intervention in the works!!!
My pencils were backordered in Jan and I got them first week in Feb. The invoice said $58 without the $20 rebate. I included the $20 rebate when I ordered them online. I called Viking and they credited the $20 rebate to my credit card. The woman said that backordered items have problems with the $20 rebate. If this happens to you, just call Viking and they will credit your credit card.
I just checked the status on my order for the prismas and it says "in the warehouse". Does anyone know what that means? Does it mean mine will be shipped and arrive when they are supposed to? I just ordered them last night and the woman said I will receive them on Wednesday the 2nd. (tomorrow)
Okay, my pencils should be in tomorrow. But I wanted to know the best way to sharpen them. Should I bring home my electric pencil sharpener from school, or would a little hand sharpener work better? Thanks!
lonestar: the tin i got had a metal sharpener in it to use. These are teh best and i think recommended over an electric sharpener due to the soft color pencil.
