Do you sit down with a specific idea in mind, or do your cards just come together as you go. I do both, but I know my best cards are the ones that just happen. I start something, and then add a little here and there until it is done. Anybody else stamp like that?

I generally begin with a particular stamp set in mind for the specific occassion. Then I decide colors, start cutting and scoring and then add embellishments as I go. It just seems to all come together once I have my stamp set chosen.
Ok. I guess I am odd. I have lots of partially done cards like a background I like, maybe a CASE'd embellishment, etc. When I have a specific event in mind, I'll first pick the main theme stamp, then look at my "partials" and hope for inspiration!!
I usually sit down with a very general idea in mind and which stamp set I'm gonna use. One hour later its very different from the original and uses different stamps. Go figure.
I usually just sit at my stamp table and decide on a set to play with. Right now I am working with my stamps and the pearl ex. So far I just see what I cam come up with and go from there but usually I just have partials too.
Oh yes I have lots of partial done cards too! I would stamp images to test them out and sometimes color them or cut them out, do backgrounds etc but not complete a card. I just save those for one of those "rainy" days. LOL. :o
I just CASE'd someone's card this morning I forgot who! I think PrincessInk?? Using markers on a solid stamp then hairspray and pearl ex sprinkled on it. AWESOME!!! Of course this is a partial card, just a tested thing which turned out very well and will use later on. I think I've decided what my Christmas cards are going to be!

I usually just sit down and playand see what I come up with, unless of course I am doing one of the weekly challenges, then I sometimes have an idea of what I am going to do.
Most of the time I have an idea somewhere in my head, but it just hasn't come together yet! I usually sit and stare at my stamps for a while, then I stare at the papers, and then I stare at the inks, just to be sure....
Lots of time, I want to do something in a certain color combo and start there. I think that's what I like about using backround papers. They give me a place to start!
And then if all else fails and I need to get a card done, I go back to something I felt good doing before and maybe change up the colors or add a different ribbon.
My best scrapping ideas are totally freeform. I generally only work with 1 photo per page; no more than two. I don't do "garbage" pages...those pages that are littered with photos. Nothing wrong with 'em; just not my style. I rarely even start out my pages with a specific set in mind...but once I get moving, a set comes to me and nothing else will do! Then I will waste *hours* looking for something until I find it...if I have it and can't find it, or if I have to shop for it because I know it's out there, or if I have to call around to friends looking for the right one because I know one of them has it! Just my AR side peeking out... ~K

actually lately, it's been pick some patterned paper, THEN a set, and then go from there ;)
With scrapping, I start with the pics... and I definitely am a photo-scrapper.... the photos have to be the focus! Embellishments are great, but if they take away from the photos, they are pointless!
