I too am guilty! I just love stamps! I have a weakness for "Small ones"'
I love Rosie's Roadshow stamps! But I do HAVE well over 160 set of stampin" up! But they do not sell everything I want.. but probally do sell everything I NEED!
Ok, for those that need "absolution from guilt"....
I have been stamping for five years. Have made MANY trips to stamp stores (like a kid in a candy store!) and bought hundreds and hundreds of dollars of non-SU stamps, paper and ribbon. Loooove them!
But---I just signed on as a SU demo. Why? (Besides the discount!) Because in the end, it's the SU stamps that I go to. It is so much easier to put a georgeous card together using SU stuff. I realized that even if I spent only 25% of my money on SU, it was their stamps I consistently use. Their ink, their cardstock.
I still LOVE my hero, savvy and other stamps. I wish SU had some texture and monochromatic like Bazill and EK success. (My canvas stamp comes Tuesday!)
But for an "investment" SU is the way to go!
I have no guilt about buying non-SU, just guilt about not using them!
Since this appears to be "True Confession" time, I have one to make. I had the brilliant idea a couple of years ago to stamp all of the stamps I have at least once in a note book so that I would know what stamps I have (so I would stop buying duplicates of the ones I like) and could show others in my card exchange group. This would make it easier to lend out stamps that others need for a particular card but don't want to buy. Well, I gave up when I reached 1200. I also have to confess, I have continued to buy, buy, buy since that day.
We have all strayed! I was rubber stamping for about 4 years before I even heard of StampinUp! So I still have lots of non-SU stuff and I like to support other business. Before I became a demo I bought me supplies at Baas Jct. in Toledo, OH and I still like to support that store. This store is really where I got my start and attended classes, the owner is wonderful and I have lots of stamping friends that go there. Most of them support me in SU and I still support this store when I can. Is anybody out there from the Toledo, Oh area? You need to check out Baas Jct in South Toledo. Ann
Wow! we really are a cheating bunch aren't we? I too am a SU demonstrator. I have several Hero Arts stamps and a good assortment of others as well. But I only use SU ink and Cardstock. I do not use other stamps in my demonstrations..So.....I don't feel too guilty. I prefer SU ribbon, but I am always picking up ribbon at Wal Mart or Michaels. Am always on the prowl for different products.
Being a purist would shrivel up my creativity . . . I love many "contra-band" brands of rubber and possess many, too! I just wish I had more time to use them . . . never enough hours in the day, I'm afraid . . .

Kimilou, Those full sheets are 6x9 inch sheets of rubber. Stamps in their original form, fresh out of production. You cut them apart, put mounting cushion on the back, and trim just like you would SU stamps. Then you can mount them to a wood block, or use them with the cling backing or the sticky on acrylic blocks. I purchased some of those, and got my mounting cushion from www.merrystamper.com. My acrylic blocks came from ebay. (All my unmounteds are in a 3-ring binder filled with page protectors (the page inside the protector has the images stamped on it.)
Thanks for the info! I love their verses! Now off to shop$$$$
I just got back from Michaels and I could not resist( who could) their $1 STAMPS!! I bought 4, a martini glass, happy birthday, wedding cake, and a high heeled shoe! And the best part........... when I got to the check out they rang up at .60 cents each!! No guilt here, it was an offer i COULDN'T REFUSE!! Ann
I should have bought more..........might have to go back, what great gifts fro my stampin friends....hmmmmmmmmmm
I'm a stamp-a-holic, period. I love SU!, but can't resist Hero Arts or Penny Black. Not to mention really cool embellishments that SU! doesn't currently offer . . . I can only hope that the great stamp goddess in the sky will judge me kindly.
I just had to post on this topic!!! I have been stamping for about 2-2,5 years and I found out about "SU" about a year ago... That means I have tons of both "SU" and "Non-SU" stamping supplies and I love and use them all :o) I am saving to be a demo, though, so I guess, I'll be buying more "SU" stuff once I join the company :o)
My other faves are "Hero Arts", "Diffusion" line from Hampton Art, "Penny Black" and "VLVS"... Oh, I buy and use mounted stamps only :o)

Ok, you bought $1 stamps... try spending $104 on other stamps...
my only defense... we don't sell stamps like these...
biblical impressions??
i have a hard time not spending a ton of money there!!
Yeah,
I LOVE all the verse and word stamps at Biblical Impressions. I must admit I forgot to mention that weakness earlier. I guess BI hasn't been at the top of my mind lately. Thanks for reminding me. I need to go check and see what is on their sale page.

I'm a demo - I think I know which $1 stamps at Mike's y'all are referring to. I had to buy the cow stamp. I belong to a group, about 5 of us - we call ourselves the Scrap Happy Heifers. One of the group made us cow aprons, we have cow necklaces and I found the cow stamp and got everyone one. I told them - "this is the only contraband stamp you will ever get from me!" They laughed - the cow was just too cute/perfect for our crazy group!
AND of course, no one company could ever have EVERYTHING we might want! And it is neat to see what else is out there. I let my 10 yo DD hold the "contraband" stuff as hers! Even she still wants to use my stuff! Just keep on stampin' ladies!
Ok, thanks to everyone for torturing me about $1 stamps..... ... don't I wish I could find me some of those?!!
I have a lot of "contraband"' items.....from papers to stamps. I will freely say I rarely use non-SU stamps, only because I have yet to find ones I like more! But as for paper and embellishments....well, I have lots. I use lots too.....just not for demos!
I agree with JulieHRR, it would shrivel creativity by limiting myself to one brand of anything. There's too much out there not to take advantage of!

I'm with Kendra: "Too much fun stuff out there not to explore other things." The majority of my stamps are SU, but I also enjoy using my stamps from Hero Arts, Eat Cake Graphics, and Purple Onion Designs. I love Bazzill cardstock, and I like a lot of the rich earthy colors of Adirondack ink pads. I am definitely what you'd call an "equal opportunity stamper". And I'm thankful that my SU demonstrator is accepting of this!
I am a demo with lots of contraband. I went to my upline's house one day to do some stamping and saw all her contraband stuff, she just shrugged her shoulders and said she had been stamping much longer than she had been a demo. Have any of you seen the stamps by Darcie's Country Folk? They are too cute for me to resist just as the House Mouse is ;) AND I just got my new 2005 Hero Arts catty in the mail a couple weeks ago. What can I say I am a stamp addict....I must say that I prefer SU prices though...generally much more for you money.

It's good to know we all have this problem, isn't it? I don't feel so guilty then! My obsessions outside of stampin up are Disney stamps...I'm working on our wedding scrapbook and we were married in Disneyworld so that's just a given...and house mouse..they're just too cute!
