Default This is for a swap -- what do you think?

I'm making this card front for a swap, but I wanted to get everyone's opinion on it to see if it needs anything else. What do you think?

TIA,

Karen

I think it's adorable as it is, but I confess that I never think a card is complete without some kind of embellishment.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the frog with the bunny ears. I may have to case this idea.

Well, as far as embellishments go, I thought about putting brads on either end of the Hoppy Easter banner. I was going to use ribbon, but I don't have any SU ribbon to match yet and it has to be made with all SU stuff. I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but the frog has a pop dot behind it, making him 3D. Is that considered an embellishment?

Karen

P.S. You can't tell it from the photo, but I filled in the eye with CE. So in person it's raised and shiny.

I think it is very cute. Maybe you could tie a ribbon/fiber around the neck of the jar?

I love the frog with the bunny ears, very clever. The only thing I could think to add would be ribbon, but since you don't have any, how about using a very narrow piece of cardstock as ribbon, you could tie it, twist it or fasten it together with a brad. Here is a card I made using that idea, because I needed a piece of ribbon and i didn't have any. HTH

I think it is adorable!!! How 'bout some "action lines" around the jar that makes it appear to be "wiggling"!! Thanks for your inspirations!!!

this is so cute!! What a wonderful idea!

I think the suggestion of some ribbon around the jar lid is what I would do. As for not having any SU ribbon, could you purchase just a few yards from your demo? Only what you need. It works out to about .20 cents a yard. White is all you really need.

Definately a ribbon around the jar...even just a white ribbon of any kind would work...this is a very clever little card....Nicely Done!

Guess where I got the "ears" from? It's the ribbon off of the package stamp in the Little Layers Plus hostess set! I couldn't find a rabbit in my collection that was large enough, so I rooted around in my sets and I saw that ribbon and thought that would make good rabbit ears! (Or "ribbit" ears LOL) I know, terrible!

Thanks for the suggestions! I did add some brads to a couple of them. The ones I didn't add the brads to I'll go back and add some cardstock "ribbon" to.

Cute card. I might also layer the background paper by cutting it down first and attaching it on a coordinating color. It looks like it might need something especially if it is SU's white cardstock. Great job, though.

I like the idea of the paper 'ribbon'. I like the card as is and didn't notice it at first but I normally have a thing about us white as the card body. So I like the idea of cutting down the us white and layering it.

hemp would also work around the jar lid ... esp. if you don't have ribbon.

Actually, the card itself isn't US white -- it's Barely Banana. I used a flash on my digital camera because the pictures I took without the flash looked a little dull and you couldnt't see the shading I did on the jar. So it's Barely Banana with flowers stamped in Summer Sun and then the banner is Bliss Blue with Hoppy Easter in Ballet Blue. The jar is stamped on US white, but I sponged around the edges with Ballet Blue and mounted it on Gable Green. So the only white is where the jar is. I think I'll post the other photo in my gallery (the one without the flash) so you can see the Barely Banana better.

Thanks for the input!

What a fun card! Great out of the box thinking for the ears.
I like the idea of brads. They are really the easiest embellishment to add.

Default jelly beans

How about a few jelly beans? If you have a stamp, just a few at the bottom and maybe outside the jar.

Very cute and clever card.

Rather than ribbon, I would focus on the Frunny (Frog/bunny?) by adding a white flock or little biddy white pom-pom for a bunny tail. And flocking or dimensional paints to centers of flowers in background.

Another possibility I have toyed with for a glass jar would be a thin layer of shiny stuff, like clear glue or crystal lacquer. It would take a while to dry though.

I like to use crystal effects on frog eyes (an alternative to gluing on googly eyes)

My DD would flip if she read this! We never cancel school even when it is snowing! Her cousins live in WV and they've had about 3 weeks total of snow days this year. They even close if the temp is low. We'd never go to school !

Boy, I'd hate to be those kids when it comes time to pay the piper and make up all those missed days. Don't they have to be in school 180 days out of the year?

You totally can't tell it's barely banana.

Love the card. If you think it needs something.... the CE eyes and a pom pom for a tale would make it even more adorable. That's quick and easy too.
