I need everyones opinions but my mom's....
I made this book for my mom's birthday today, I hope she doesn't get on here and look. It has all of the techniques printed out from the resources page. And I made a cardfront of most of the samples to slide in that page for easy reference. Do any of you think this is cheesy or stupid? I also bought about 7 spools of ribbon, and i am stopping at A.C. Moore's on the way out of town to fill up a small goodie bag with tags, brads and lots of other stuff.. Here are some pictures, let me know what you think.

I need everyone's opinion
What a great gift! I'm sure she will love it and appreciate the time and effort it took.
I would love a book like that as I have piles of stuff I've printed out and hope "some day" to get it in a book like that.
My daughter, aka "Mich", can take a hint for my birthday.

Kirstin,
If your mom is a stamper, and I am assuming such as you mentioned you hoped she didn't check SCS, then I think it is a fabulous idea! You have put together a very professional, personalized presentation with the sheet protectors, individual samples, and the cover. Plus the ribbon and other "bellies" you plan to pick up I would love to receive something like that! Plus you can add to it over time as new techniques are available or other stamping tools like color combo charts or templates. A VERY thoughtful gift.

Thanks, I was pretty sure it was a good idea, bvut sometimes, you just need everyones opinions too. Yes, she is a stamper too, I told her she couldn't go to my gallery all week, because I have her birthday card uploaded to my gallery. She said she almost went several times, but let the urge pass.

What is not to love.........all in one book for easy reference with a sample to boot!! We should all be so fortunate as your mom, say, maybe you could go into business . We'd all be lining up for our copy!!!!
Seriously, she will love it so much on a number of levels, but mostly because you created it for her from your heart.

It is a wonderful gift! I think I will have to "borrow" your idea to arrange my techniques. I bought the notebook and page protectors last week - now just have to make time to construct it. I am certain your mom will love this - all the more so because you took the time to make it just for her. Way to go!

It's a wonderful gift and very nicely done! I'm going to have to CASE this for myself. My craft room and computer are on opposite ends of the house and I spend too much time running back and forth - then when I check in at SCS I'm stuck and can't leave!

That's incredible!! Very useful and very nicely put together! She'll be telling all her friends, "My daughter made this for me for my birthday!" And all her friends will be wishing their daughter's would do something so awesome! I think I'm gonna have to CASE this idea--to help with all the notes I make while on SCS! computer and stampin' stuff also at opposite ends!
I saw you were thinking about being a SU! demo--this is just one more thing that shows you've got the stuff, girl!

It's an absolutely wonderful idea. I'm trying to get something like this together for myself to show at workshops and stampcamps.

techniques book
I love your book! I made one too only for myself. Some of my techniques are from other sites but most from here. I also have a book made up for card ideas most taken from here. I saved the ones that went with the stamp sets I have. They are listed alphabetically and when listed I wrote the CS color and ink colors, etc. down. It is a great idea book. My friends loved it and borrow it and are now considering making there own. Your mom will love it!

technique booklet
I'm with Lunar Lana send me one.I am in the process of trying to put together a booklet like this.
I think this is an awesome idea.I have a bullentine board that I just made and I wanted to make cards and have the techniques right with them as a referance guide.Definetly a lot of work and love involved.
I can be your second mom if you'd like.maybe a step mom,grandmother,etc.daughter. sister.o.k. I'll stop now .How about a secret sister pal. hint. hint .hint.o.k. I'm done.
I guess I'll just make my own.
