Hi Girls!
I've been talking with another SCS member and we were thinking how fun would it be to do a stampin and scrappin cruise. It would be a shorter one, 4 to 5 days, and we could stamp til our hearts content. They would give us private confrence areas. We would be able to block a number of rooms to get a good deal and we could do it like a year from now so we could save up for it--not to mention convince DH. Also the travel agency allows you to give a deposit and just make payments periodicly as long as it gets paid for 60 or 90 days before sailing. Please let us know if it's something that would interest you to do so we could start organizing it!

To get a group rate, we would need to block off at least 16 cabins. Which is only 32 gals if you do 2 to a room. As far as the price, I'm not real sure. I'm going to play with it. We were thinking of departing either from Cape Canaveral, FL (outside of Orlando) or Alabama. We'll see what's most convenient and least expensive. As far as DH, I don't know what they would do. I wouldn't think of bringing mine because he'd be a widower on the ship.
DH and I took one 2 years ago with Get Gone Cruises and left out of Galveston. I never even pulled out my stuff. You have to schedule things to do on the boat, i.e make and takes or people will mostly do cruise stuff. It was a blast though. I want to go if you guys go out of Fl or TX. I know an SU one is alreay in process here in TX. I saw the flyer at Terristamps group meeting a week ago.
Let me know, I am interested.

Hey Vanna - glad you got this post started. I think that if DHs want to go - they would find plenty to do on their own. If husbands want to go - maybe they could get together and hang out. I know mine would want to go. Also, when you and i were discussing it - I never though of leaving from Galveston - but it is true that they have some good deals out of there. We may want to consider New Orleans too.
Oh the men would find plenty to do, starting with the bar. Hubby was good. Only had 2 drinks on our cruise even with all those pink shirt wearing scrappers.

Although I probably wouldn't be able to go, I would definitely recommend the 4 or 5 day option. I've been on a 3 day, a 4 day, and a 7 day. The 3 day one is just too short. The way a three day works, you just get on the boat and settled and it is time to get back off. 7 day would definitely be too long. But IMHO, I think a 4 -5 day would be the way to go.
Count me in ... and either 3 or 5 days would work for me. My constraints are I can't take vacation the first two weeks of a month. Keep me posted on the details, and if they work with my schedule, I will be a happy cruising stamper ... lol!
I have to agree about the 3 day being too short. Also take into consideration that they count the day you get on (which you usually don't leave till 3 or 4pm) and they day you leave (which you're usually off at 10AM).
This sounds like it could be fun. I've never been on a cruise. Not sure if my DH would want to go or not.
I have little ones also but all parents need a vacation and if this happens that could be my mini vacation. IMO I dont think 4 days is too long.
Maybe we can do a three day "retreat" or something in addition to the 4 or 5 day cruise. The retreat could be at a resort or something.... That way everyone could participate in at least one if they like.
This does sound fun. I'm interested. I'd definately say the 4-5 day cruise. If you were going to spend all that $$$ wouldn't you want to join in on at least some of the cruise festivities...ya know, the concerts, the clubs, the pool, some of the off site stuff, and of course still STAMP?
Wow, I joke often with my stamping friends that we should go on a stamping cruise...I would really like to hear all the details...and hope I could make the trip. Keep me on the list for the details.

I just want to add my two cents worth...I really love the idea. Earlier someone posted a "cruise" on a steamboat cruising down the Mississippi--the cruise was a scrapbooking one and it was full already!!!
3-4 days cruising would be plenty. I am stuck in corn country (Illinois)--but I would be interested in the information. Also, Illinois gals--let's do a retreat!

There's at least one in the works, I believe around Elk Grove. I'll look for the threads.
Vanna - there seems to be about 14 ladies interested in the cruise (if I read and counted correct). Do you think that is enough interest to get started planning?
I've already got the ball rolling. I'm lookking at possible dates--seeing what time of the year is cheapest. I'm looking at the different ports to see if there is a big $ difference if we go from one or another. As soon as I start getting answers I'll start posting them.
