Can SU demos have their own websites?

I notice that alot of the CTMH demos have their own websites promoting their product

But the SU reps tend to have their sites through the company
(which in my opinion lack some creativity) all the demos sites look kinda the same

I didn't sign up for the web site because I was dissapointed in it as well! It wasn't very creative!

I'm not a demo but I have seen some SU! demo websites that aren't the ones from the company--I think many times demos have both an SU! and a personal website that also promotes their business.

I have a website through Stampin' Up! It is very easy to do, and doesn't cost much. I think that is why many demos choose that. We are also free to have our own websites--built under other systems. It just takes more work.

It is very easy to find the websites that are under SU! It may be harder to search for the others.

You can get free web pages if you make up a Yahoo group for yourself.

There is advertising, but it works for me.
You pick a fun name, and invite your friends, family, and customers to join. They host Messages Archive, Chat Room, Files, Photos, Links, Database, Polls, Members List, and a Calendar which you can enter classes, shows, camps, and birthdays. They offer automatic reminders to everyone signed up in the group. (My favorite feature)

I do believe we are allowed to have websites outside of the company's - the trick is following all the rules in our handbook...

like:

Adding the copyright info to any examples we might want to post

Can't have a shopping cart - or sell anything on it...

Those two stick out the most to me...

Yes, it's true there isn't much creativity to the site, but then again, I'd rather be stamping then building a web site... I have a company site and it serves the purpose I intended it to - provide a constant means of contact with folks I meet - especially as a military family member who moves around... my customers know they will always be able to find me with that site...

You also cant advertise any classes, camps or clubs. I had my own web site, actually 2. 1 from SU! and one on my own. I got an e mail from them stating it was against their policy and gave me 10 days to correct it. I want to abide by their rules so I deleted my personal one :oops:

Double check with them so you don't get the same e mail I did
