Took the plunge!
I've finally decided, why fight it?! I'm becoming a demo!!
I've got my forms (have to wait until I'm on lunch to fill them out, I shouldn't even be posting!!) and will express them off to my demo today.
Once I have my number, I'm laughing. I already have a friend who has a $750 order (Canadian)... yippee!
This place drove me to it!

Beate, I can't sign anyone up (yet) ~ that person would be cutting into my turf!! LOL.......but seriously, it would! It's a very small island. I need to be doing it for a while. Maybe if it takes off.....
Princess, I've been contemplating for over a year!! Really!! My demo, Val, has asked me constantly. My biggest fear was being my own best customer (try rationalizing why I just "had to" spend $450 [to get my quota for the quarter] on stamps to a DH who just doesn't get it! ;)). Now I've discovered I've got one EXCELLENT customer!! Woohoo!! That one excellent one is my stepping stone.
I look forward to being an extended part of the family!
Now, I'd better get back to work (Princess, today could really be the day I get fired! LOL) so I can take my lunch soon and fill out my forms! I so can't wait!!
And thanks to EVERYONE here for the encouragement. Yes, Princess.....you and Kar should stop being wannabes!

Good decision...I signed up about a year and a half ago and it has made such a positive impact on my life. You will love it all and now you can come to convention next year...the best part of being a demo, I think.

Debbi~ I thought you already were a demo!!! I took the big step on Wednesday! My husband doesn't get it either, but I guess I don't get his facination with hitting a small white ball in to a hole!

LOL......nor do I understand my DH's fascination with hunting and fishing! But he enjoys it and it makes him happy. Hopefully soon he'll see that it does the same for me.
stampcrazygirl - don't know yet! will decide at lunch. I already have all the AYC sets so I'll probably opt for some of the other "saying" sets, such as Wonderful Words or something.....not sure yet! Aah, only another 1/2 hour and I can go get busy on choosing!!

Kept Itty Bitty Backgrounds and Fresh Flowers (because those are the inspiration sheets you get, not cuz I love it)...but then ordered In the Wild, Shapes and Shadows (because of all the pre-convention samples!), Simple Sayings and Heart of Africa wheel...as I already had AYC I and don't like tags and more...or perfect party...
I'm not really into the demo aspect (yet), just more of the discount aspect! So far. Mind you, I just mailed the paperwork to my demo for her signature, so I'm not even a newbie yet!! LOL...but I'm sure looking forward to it!
My GF who moved away (Hi Tifany!! I miss you!!) told me last year she has a GF whos husband calls scrapping and stamping "a cult"...LOL...so we now refer to everything as "cult supplies".

I'm right there with you on the "cult" thing. My DH just shakes his head when he hears me on the phone talking stamping or scrapping. Or when I get into the "craft closet". If he only knew how much $$$ I have wrapped up in these 2 hobbies he would probably have a heart attack.
Debbi, How long will it take to actually receive your kit. I'm just busting at the seams for you!!

Congrats Debbi,
It's so exciting to see SU taking off in Canada, I'm so excited for you! You do awesome work and with your enthusiasm I know you'll do great!
I only had 2 customers for my first year and a half and I was one of them! Once I truly decided to do this as a business I couldn't believe how it took off! Some of my best customers are ones who at the start wouldn't even do a make and take because they didn't "do crafts" How exciting is that.

QC! You are doin' it? Yeah! I'm so excited for you! You won't regret it. I always wish I would have signed up sooner. Stampin' Up is a great company to work with and it has given me a lot of opportunities to make new friends. I hang out with people who LOVE stamping just like I do. It is awesome to share such a passion. Are you going to convention next year?????? Please say yes! Woohooo! That would be so awesome. I was so excited when I seen your post. I 'm very happy for you.
I remember when I FINALLY got my kit. I was waiting and waiting and waiting. Turned out SU goofed and sent it to MN instead of WI. I couldn't believe it! But don't you worry, whenever SU goofs, they are right there to get things straightened out. Everyone who works at SU is wonderful! Very friendly and helpful.
OMG! I could go on and on and on! I'm just so darned excited for you! You go girl! Congratulations girlfriend!

It is not the support that I'm worried about ~ it is the part about being my own best customer!! Besides, my cards are definately NOT demo quality....yet. I just really enjoy stamping and don't know if I want to jump that fence. At some point I may decide to come over but at this point I'm content to stay on this side. yahhhhhhhhh for you!!! I am on the edge of my seat wanting to sign up.. DH said I have to save up at least 1/2 of the $$$ and then I can sign up.. I am frantically searching the cushions, pockets in laundry and anywhere I think there is some cash and putting it all in my little jar... need to get it saved fast before I go NUTSSSSSSSSS.. oh ya Lana already put me there :P |
