We recently relocated to the beautiful Raleigh, NC area. I am searching for follow stampers who would love to swap, stamp, and scrap every few weeks or so. Anyone around this area, who's interested?

I am moving to North Carolina the week between New Years and Christmas. We're looking in the Weddington / Waxhaw area (South of Charlotte). I am not sure where I am going to be in relation to you, but thought it was worth a shot. I'd love to hear from you -
I actually live not 10 minutes from there. I live just outside of Winston in Pfafftown, so I go by there everyday on my way home. Sometimes I have to stop and that is bad cause I always find something I need!!

Oh Wow, You are so fortunate. I haven't beento EC in about 8 years. I am sure is has changed / expanded quite a bit since then. It was overwhealming even when I was there last. I can't imagine how it must be now. :confused:

Hey ya'll! I've been out of town and just happened to log on. I would love to get to together with anyone &/or swap as well. It would be great to get a little group together! Cassi - We had friends in who lived right outside of Winston-Salem when I was in high school so we used to visit there every summer. I love the area! And somebody fill me in on Enchanted Cottage! Do I need to make a little day trip somewhere?
DuckWaddleQuack where outside of Winston did your friends live? I live in Pfafftown which is kind of right behind Lewisville, towards Yadkinville.
The EC is a wonderful place to go. They have about 30,000 stamps and tons of papers, stickers, really anything you would need. When I see new techniques I usually go there to get supplies cause it's on my way home and less out of the way than AC Moore or Michael's.
It's in a old Mill. It would take a few hrs to go through and see it all cause they have so much stuff. I usually end up being there an hour when I need to get supplies cause I just can't decide what to get I want it all!!!!
I'm in Albemarle. About and hour east of Charlotte and maybe an hour south of Greensboro. We've lived here 7 years and I've never been to EC. Hear about it all the time, just never get there. All my disposable income goes to SU, so I really don't want to find somewhere else to spend money

Hi! I live south of Raleigh (near Clayton), and currently there is a gal in Durham on the AOL Scrapbooking board that is trying to get a group together in this area. I travel back and forth between central PA and Raleigh for work. There are some weekends when I am in the Raleigh area with nothing to do. Some evenings, I'm also free. I'd love to get together and stamp!
Have you found Raindrops on Roses yet? I LOVE that place. (They seem to like me too....my wallet on the other hand...still cries when I drive by!)
I live in Swansboro, on the coast (1 1/2 hours north of Wilmington). There are about four of us who stamp together. Let me know if you "Raleighites" want to head this way for a beach/stampin' weekend.

SortingThoughts- yes I did find Raindrops of Roses and a place that sells mainly scrapbook things, I think its off of Atlantic Springs Rd. I was wondering if there are any other stores around. I know there just has to be a few more around.
A GREAT store in Durham CAROLINA MEMORIES. TOTALLY worth the drive out there. They have the CUTEST store setup, a place for kids, and a huge room with lots of events.

Hi, just found your post, as I have been looking for stampers in the Durham/chapel Hill/Raleigh area to form a group to meet. I didn't see that any group has been formed. I am still wanting to get together with other stampers for meetings. I live in Durham, right off Duke St. near Durham Regional Hospital, but am willing to travel to other areas close by.
What I am hoping for is a group of women who love to stamp and want to exchange ideas and techniques and make cards.
I did cards couple years ago and have just gotten back into it 3 months ago, and love it.
I also make jewelry (30 years), but have slowed down on this since starting back with cards.

I've just recently met another lady whom I work with that likes to stamp and we've been trying to get together to stamp but things are always to busy! So I'm all about getting a group together! Right now looking at my calendar, Aug. 19th and Sept 9th are two Saturdays that I know I'm free. How about everyone else? Who wants to take the plunge and get together on either of those dates?
I don't mind having people at my house, I have a good sized living room with plenty of space. I just don't have lots of table space so it would be great if ya'll have popup tables or card tables and could bring them. We could plan to bring swaps and some projects to work on, have a stamping free for all, plan a theme or maybe get started on Christmas cards. (I sooo need too do that!)

Sept 9 is better for me. My Wedding Anniversary is on Aug 18 so that weekend is out for me.

I can't believe it ... it's like feast or famine. I sit around doing nothing (but work) for months, then I get the chance to stamp & chat & stamp & chat ... and I'm gone for BOTH of those weekends!
I'm going on my VERY FIRST "stay away from home" work conference -- I'm gone 2 1/2 days to Camp Caraway (near Asheboro - NC ZOO), then going to Charlotte to get my girls before school starts in Aug. The Sept weekend I'm involved in a major records audit and going away for some sanity!
But I'll keep watching the postings. I'd love to meet new stampers! Anyone do scrapbooking too? Or just cards & gifts?
I have 3 (inside) kitties ... do yours get full of GLITTER??? Our one cat (she's the real Princess of the house) HAS TO be near me when I'm stamping. And she's black & white. When she comes downstairs, everyone laughs because they know I'm using glitter! She's got it all over her (you know how you wipe it off the table onto the floor??? no, you never do that ...).
LOVE Glitter, and I'm just itching to try Beate's new technique. SU! doesn't have those color glitters anymore, right? She's using like light blue, ocean green, etc. I'll have to go to the store and find some.

Tish, I'm all about glitter and I so wipe it off to the floor!! The kitties actually live in my stamp room when we're not at home and they have all kinds of things stuck to them at times. My biggest problem isn't the glitter (even though one cat is black) its anything ribbon-like. If I cut off a thin strip of paper, its gone in a flash as soon as I drop in the trash can.
Someone posted this elsewhere but I wanted ya'll to know incase ya didn't see it but the stamp store Raindrops on Roses is going out of business :( and everything is 35% off. I haven't had a chance to get of there yet but I plan on it! It's located in the shopping center on Leesville Rd. and Strickland right as you get off I-540. Can't think of the name of the shopping center but there's a Harris Teeters and lots of little shops.
Ohh... and if you hadn't heard yet Archivers has opened at Triangle Town Center. (I think this is partly why ROR is closing) Enter it with caution - you may lose lots of $$$! Big store = lots of 'toys'!
Still looking for scrap, stamp, swap friends? Just moved to Raleigh and will be spending a lot of time at Archivers at Traingle Towne Center. If you ever want to meet there let me know.

Hello and welcome to Raleigh! What do you think of NC so far? I was just about Archiver's about 3 hours ago - I've been trying to be 'good' and avoid it b/c I spend way too much $$$ when I go and we just bought a house! But after almost a month of being very 'good' I figure I needed a little treat, right?
I just got a part-time job at Archivers working as an instructor! We need any money I make for "life" so I really have to control my spending. It's a great place to meet and get stuff done if we can keep ourselves from browsing.
I love NC - we are coming back to Raleigh after 13 years! It's so good to be home. It will be a while before we are settled but it's great!
Maybe I'll see you at Archivers. My name is Kellie. I think there is another Kelly there but I spell my name different. Look for me next time you're in.
