Do I understand correctly that there is no minimum purchase required to take advantage of the 1/2 off prices of the specified sets. Is this "for sure"? I am getting ready to put in an order and this info would really really help me decide how best to proceed.
So, I can order an ink pad & get a stamp set for half off? That would be great.
No. Six preselected stamps sets are being offered at half price for the month of March. That is the only thing half off. It has nothing to do with ink pads, etc.

As a SU! Demo who also had this info 3 days ago,(who didnt?) I dont think DEMOS should be sharing this with the general public!! (until march 1) Talk about stealing thunder from people... Tho I know some people LOVE to be the first to give new info out, what a ego rush.....................
I am not a demo, therefore, I would not be able to post this in the demo forum. My demo let me know as soon as she found out. I see no harm in sharing this info. It is part of the excitement of the special.
Thank you for sharing! I am a new demo and have been checking for the list on the SU website, and thought I could only find it in the new magazine, that wasnt posted yet!
I am glad you posted the list. I know my friends would be mad if they ordered the set this month and then it was on sale next month. ( So would I for that matter!)
Thanks so much for letting us know what sets are a part of the March Special. I have been wanting Simple Salutations and Summer by the Sea....but I have a question for you.....Do you think because they are having a special on these current sets that they are going to retire them? Didn't they do that last year?
We are reading the March Issue of Stampin Success... look in demo only forum to see how to access it!!
Enjoy it now, because I am certain once SU gets wind of demos getting in a "back door" to the online version of stampin success earlier than permitted they will never let it happen again. And you can be sure since it was posted on a message board and spread like wildfire throughout the internet, they WILL get wind of it.
PS I am not a demo, and don't know the specifics of how people accessed the online version of stamping success ahead of time, but I have a lot of internet/computer experience, so I have a good idea.
PPS For the demos who don't understand how they were the last to know...being online is the name of the game. If you are online and keep up with certain topics, on certain message boards you can have info almost instantaneously.
For example, when the new catalog was unveiled at convention, I knew lots of lots of info because I scout around online. My friends were amazed and couldn't understand how I found out so much info. One of my best friends who is my demo called from convention to share some news and I had already heard it online. Keep in mind, I am not a demo and have no access to demo forums anywhere. Same with VIking codes. They can't believe I can get a code whenever they want to order. It's knowing how to get around online and It's good ole word of mouth. We used to call our friends to spread the news, now it's done with the click of the button, sometimes to several people at once. The advances of technology.....
First post...apologies in advance if I do anything wrong
A friend of mine was checking out SU's official website at the beginning of Feb (for the Winter Mini) and they'd already posted the Spring one. I think someone at SU boo-booed. I asked my demo if we could order from the new spring catalog and she looked at me like I had two heads!!! Yikes!!! Now that I've had the sneaky peek I can't wait until March 1st to put in my next order!

I agree. The purpose of sales specials are to boost sales. I had a hostess who hosted a party recently, and wanted people to take advantage of SAB, the current promotion, and buy stuff at her party, not wait til next month. I would not have thought it a good business practice to tell them about the next specials. Now that there are over 30,000 members of SCS, perhaps it's time for a policy I'm familiar with from other product-specific boards: don't release information to the public until the company releases it to the public.

I am not a demo and like getting the scoop ahead from everyone here. It actually helps me plan out my orders and I can save money for when the specials are available.
This March special was no secret to anyone as far as I am concerned. My demo told us about it at our February gathering.
She encouraged us to take advantage of the SAB before the end of the month and gave us many examples to share that definately convinced a few to purchased $50 in order to get the free sets.
She also encouraged us to try to have our won book parties with the March flyer when it becomes available and sent it to us as soon as she got it.
I think if you seperate the forums too much some of us could be offended and this is supposed to be a happy place to come
I get so upset when demos on here rant and rave about that should be in the demo only forum. My demo told me about it last week when she officially found out from Stampin Up on their websight. Every month as demos you can access the next months Stampin Success mag. on line after the 15th of the month. As demo's share the excitement and get people involved to book parties past sell-a-bration. Isn't your Spring into Action promos coming up?
Sorry is is just soo frustrating to hear you whine about it, when you could turn it around so easily to your benefit if a customer hears about it somewhere else.

I am a demo and just wanted to explain that SU! gives us access to the information on the SU! demo site each month.

I have to disagree. There is nothing wrong with demos providing information about specials to customers prior to the special being posted on the SU! customer site. If SU! didn't intend for us to be able to provide the information in advance, then they wouldn't have already posted flyers for us to e-mail to our customers. I already sent out information and the flyer that SU! provided for us and this has not affected any of my workshops. In fact, people appreciate that I am willing to give them this information so that they are able to make informed decisions when purchasing SU! products from me. I would feel horrible if someone bought a stamp set this month that I knew would be on sale for 50% next month !!! I'm sorry if I upset anyone, but quite honestly, I don't feel that anyone has done anything wrong.
Here's an alternate point of view from a former Tupperware demo: demonstators got promotional information before it became public to give them a chance to become informed before the information was released and to allow us to make the business decision of when & how best to tell our customers. I can completely understand why a demo wouldn't necessarily want information about future promotions posted here before she has had a chance to learn about it and decide how best to use this information in her business.
Also, let's not forget that we are all here courtesy of a demonstrator, who developed, pays for & maintains this site.

Yes, I realize SU gives demos access to this information, but his information was accessed prior to its offical release. Demos were not clicking on a link from the SU site to get to the info. They were getting in a "backdoor" so to speak, before the link was actually posted.
Just wanted to clarify the intent of my original statement. :-)

Thanks for clarifying . . . I misunderstood what you meant !!! I thought that you didn't understand about the access we're given on the SU! demo site, so I wanted to explain that.
we need to think about things before we start saying things that come out wrong. I can almost stake my life on it no one wanted to do anything to hurt anyone.
I believe people were getting enthusiastic about something I have seen being talked casually about in a lot of forums. Everyone has known some sets were going to be offered as a special. It has been mentioned under other topics because of Sincere Salutations.
In the end this information doesn't hurt anyone because in the end people will buy or not buy. Personally I would not want one of my customers on a strict budget who loves Stampin' Up products to buy now and feel bad later about a another couple of sets they could have had. Customers where it won't make a difference money wise will still spend both months.
I forget what they call it when $ take over how we would want to be treated. If I have affronted anyone I apologize.
I am a demo and had a SAB workshop on Feb 12th. I let my customers take a sneak peek at the Spring Mini and I also had the Cool Cat and Alphabits sets and both of the 1/4 inch punches to show them, which I had pre-ordered.
Because I gave them a sneak peek and told them about the March Forward special (one of the cards we made used the Sincere Salutations set) I got 3 firm bookings with 2 more maybes. All the cards we made were done with SAB sets.
I see nothing wrong with sharing what the new promotion is going to be, that's why we get info and flyers to download well in advance.... so we can get bookings for the next promo. My customers appreciate me giving them the info.
I can see the frustration, as a demo, when you hear about something here on SCS and have no clue what is being talked about. I have been there, reading a post and saying "WHAT?".
I am a stamp-a-holic, an addict, whatever you want to call it. I am on-line a lot, mostly sites like SCS. I stamp at least 2-3 times a week. Usually more!
That said, March is normally to be my "take a break from spending" month. With my former demos, I always spent 100 in Jan, and 100 in Feb, just to get the SAB sets in addition to all the great stuff waiting on my wish list, supplies, etc. I learned of the 50% sale well in advance thanks to SCS, so now I have budgeted in to get one of each of the sets being offered. Had I not learned of the sale in advance, I most likely would not be able to do that, would have had to just get 1 or 2. Had I placed an order in Feb for any of those sets at full price, to find out a few weeks later that they were now on sale, that would be a reason to leave that demo, for either not letting me know they would later be on sale, or because she wasn't on top of things if she didn't know in advance.
I think less of demos (and have in fact left one--she missed out on 3/4 of my SAB $$) for not keeping me informed or not running their business as a business. (Keeping in mind of course we're all human, all have unexpected things come up, etc. But if you have been a good helpful demo in the past, that won't derail your business. If you haven't, it could well be the straw that breaks the camel's back!). Maybe I was spolied by great demos before, but if someone is a business (not hobby) demo, I do expect a newsletter (email or not), occasional emails with tips, to be put on the mailing list for new mini cattys, a variety of stamp camps to be offered throughout the month instead of all the same weekend, shipping notification, timely delivery/opportunity to pick up, etc. As I said, maybe I was spoiled! But maybe not. Aren't all these suggested by SU to grow your businesses? I was in sales (advertising) for years, and a lot of the same things netted me repeat sales (and friends!!!) more times than I can count. Salespeople live and die by customer service.
I couldn't come up with the Sincere Salutation set... hmmmmmmmmm where is it?
You should be able to search for it. I've used it on several cards in my gallery here! It's a stamp set that will be in the 2005-2006 catalog! It's going to be a HOT seller!

This is really perturbing - I am an SU! demo and I haven't heard about this at all. Where are the Demos getting this information so far in advance?
We are reading the March Issue of Stampin Success... look in demo only forum to see how to access it!!
If this has been addressed, sorry.
Truth be told, we all knew there would be a special in March. We were told when we received Sincere Salutations that it would be part of a 50% off special in March. The only thing that was truly "secret" until last week was what sets.
