I am so happy, I got my demo number today, so I guess I am an offical demo. Now if my starter kit would just show up I would be good to go. Just had to share my excitement!!!
Tonya
Congratulations. I bet a lot of people get one today!!! My sweet downline Danielle go hers today too. Now we are anxiously waiting for her kit to ship out.
You will love being a demo. Such a great thing to be! I am loving it
Congratulations!! You will love being a demo. I just started in May and I love it. This site is also an awsome place for advice and great ideas!! Good Luck!
Thank you so much for the well wishes, I can't wait to get started. Do any of you know if I can check and see if my starter kit has shipped out or not?
TIA
Tonya
Hi Tonya-
Call Stampin Up and ask them for your password. Once you have your password, you can log onto the demo website and check your order status!! Waiting on your kit to come in seems like an excruciating long time!!!
go to Order Express. Then to check order status. There click on the UPS number and that will tell you when it will be delivered. If it doesn't show yet...give it a day. Then it's packed but UPS doesn't have it scanned in yet.
April,
Go for it!! It is so enjoyable! I love attending all the demo events AND you get to be the first to see everything! The monthly magazine that we get is awesome and packed full of samples! Plus the discount on all the stamps doesn't hurt anything AND the chance to earn free ones with different promotions that are run!!
I want to become a demo too. I was thinking about it and then my friend went ahead after I was talked out of joining(a friend of both of ours). Now I can't become a demo and unless I just do it for my habit only. We are all on the same circle of friends, our kids go to school together and in the same class. I am feeling a bit sabotaged(sp?). Should I still go in?
One good thing about it is you would get to attend events with your friend (regional, convention, leadership, etc.) if you sign up! Plus you would get the discount and the monthly SU magazine! Access to the demo website!
Do you have any family members that would have a show for you? When I relocated to a new area, I didn't know anyone except a cousin of my husband's. I talked her into having a show and it ended up being a $700 show and I got 3 bookings off that one show. Bookings from bookings kept me busy for over a year!! So if you can find one person to have a workshop from you that's not in your circle of friends...........you could end up being very busy and not having one bit of trouble making the minimums!!
Well my family is not into it at all. My mom hunts, fishes and plays golf, my aunts are either well let's just say they are all CRAZY, my in laws are not the type of people that follow through. Basically no one in the family wants to get into it. How weird. My sister-in-law (that I like) called and wants to know if I decided to get into Stampin' Up becaue she wants to learn. Ok how weird is that?
shoecollector-that's funny because my mom collects too(when she is not hunting, fishing and playing golf). She has about 400 pair.
Thanks,
Stormy
April, I say go for it, what do you have to lose. My attitude is try and if it doesn't work than I bought a kit that I would have bought all the stuff anyway. It's a win win situation. I signed up knowing I would be a hobby demo and for the discount. If it blossoms into more than that, great!!!
Yes girls...go for it! What do you got to loose. You get more products than you could buy otherwise for that money...you can buy for a discount at least for over 3 month (if you don't make the minimum of $300 in the next quarter of the year after you start) and you will learn a lot from the demo site and the magazines you will get.
Being a demo is fun. You will see. And bookings will come. I had to start back up in San Antonio last summer after a move (military wife) and it happened. Slowly at first...but it happens. When you love what you do and are enthusiastic abou it, it will happen. Heck .... I talked to a lady who went door to door selling water softeners. And she booked a show! LOL. You never know who might be interested. All you have to do is ask!
Tonya----congrats on becoming a demo!! I just started in March with SU! and so far have made all my quarters with just a few orders beyond my own orders for myself. I hope to, come the fall, get a few bookings and take off from there. If not, my own habit will help keep my quarter minimum anyhow. LOL!!
Have fun most of all!!
Anyone else considering it, GO FOR IT!! It is truly worth it, even if you don't make big bucks doing it. You will get the creative satisfaction out of it regardless of whether the $$$ comes in off it or not.
I'd love to become a demo too! I have gone back and forth on it probably close to a year now! I was ready to take the plunge but joined a stampers club and now have to wait until January :( :( :( I can't justify speanding a min. of $30 a month with my demo when I could get it at a % off myself as a demo!!! I'm sure all of you are awesome uplines!
Thanks for the advice ladies!! Yes she did call while I was typing, she knocked me off line. I know when she told me she wanted to learn my mouth just dropped to the floor. I have gotten bad news all day one after the other and I needed something to take my mind off of those things. Ok here is another question. Since I did not sign up under the lady who did my first show and talked to me and gave me all my material to sign up does that mean I sign up under my other friend? Who do I sign up under my friend T who is M's upline or M?
Stormy
Stormy-
I would sign up under whichever person you think would offer the most support! It is important to have a good upline! Choose whichever person you believe meshes with your personality the best and one who can offer support and is available to answer questions! Hope that helps!
Karen-
Will your demo not let you out of the stampin club even if you sign up under her? I would gladly let one of my customers out of their commitment if they were signing up as a demo under me!!
you can sign up under whoever you think will be the best upline for you. Think what you want from your upline (training, support...) and ask yourself which demo would be the right one for you.
Hugs and smiles! And wohooo on your decision. You will love it.
Thanks Beate! I was thinking the same thing and I know which one will be the best. I just did not know if they would come back and say well you decided not sign up under T and M is right up the road. So, thanks again!!!!!
I got my demo # yesterday too, and I don't know if it's better or worse to be able to check the SU website!!! My order status is going to be "closed" forever, I just know it!!! And while the SU website isn't the easiest to navigate, there is SO much information there! I say, if you're thinking about it, do it; and if I figured it out correctly, if you can get your agreement in by the end of July, you actually have 6 months to place your first order before you go inactive! BUT, you can also take advantage of 30% off your first order AND the awesome hostess credit before the end of August. I'm so afraid to get the new catalog in my hands -- mac and cheese at our house for a few weeks! J/K!

Nope :( Said I could find someone to replace me and that's it. I was pretty bummed for several reasons. In a sense it kind of turned me off - it certainly didn't get me more excited about signing up!
