Beate's post about positive things about the catalog made me feel really bad for posting a semi-negative post about it when I first got it. I'm a pessamist (sp?) and try hard to keep those type of thoughts to myself.
Thanks Beate for bringing this to my attention (among other people who may have gotten on that negativity boat right along with me). For my customer's sake I have to look at the positive.
I really like the catalog now...Sometimes my hormones just get the best of me and I have to just bite my tongue (or sit on my hands if I'm typing) so as to not bring everyone down. Gotta love being a woman!
I agree!! First time through disappointed me....but it's the "change" thing I guess. I'm still not totally pumped, there are several sets that are too "cartoony" for me, but as the samples get posted, my mind it is a changin'!!
(Still don't like Clarence though. Never will either! That won't change!)

Sometimes I'm amazed to have made it through the menopause years with any tongue left at all....my DD started pms-ing at about age 18months...So that's a whole lifetime of holding my tongue.
The catalog is gradually growing on me...I love the new copper accessories. I can hardly wait to use the petal points for direct to paper technique. and I love the dutch set designed after my family from the Netherlands, I'm sure..lol
Oh and the starter kits are awesome...

Well, I for one just LOVE,LOVE,LOVE the new catalog. Just love it! I am happy. I am positive. And for the rest of you, everything you think you don't like in the new catalog will grow on you! Trust me! It always happens!

I agree, at first I was a little disappointed. I don't know what I expected.
But the more I look at it, the more I need. My list just keeps getting longer. I know when I see lots of samples, I will just have to have another set.
I'm still waiting for my catty.....my demo said she just got them yesterday, so I should be getting it tonight! Yippee! It's been hard to read ALL of the posts of you who have yours for the past week already! Arg! I just know my wish list will be way too long! Can't wait to see all of the new samples!

Karen ~ I just got mine monday and couldn't even touch it yesterday. So technically I've only had mine in hand for one day! Tonite, though....nothing but me and my chai...and a 2nd complete look through.

The catalog - there is so much I'm drooling over, I haven't had time to read or think any negative thoughts. Sure, there are some sets that are not my taste, but THANK GOD, or I'd be bankrupt, demo discount or not. dh is on a 'package' and i'm counting on a huge open house to fund my wish list. Keep good thoughts, for the job search and OH success.

I think once people start posting cards with the stamps, you will see some stamps in a completly different light.. How many thought the clown was yucky! But we love him now! Well, maybe not quite love! I know when I got my catty last year I went through and picked what would purchase throughout the year. As the year went by I changed my mind so many times!!!!!! Its just a change, that we will get used to! Susie

I think it is great! I don't see anything wrong with the grey images! And I love that we Canadians finally have our own catty....with cheaper prices!!!!!!!!!! :lol:

I just love the new catty, but the funny thing is for the stamps I don't care about, someone will start making awesome cards/items w/ them and then I will just HAVE to have them!! Beate has done this to me SEVERAL times!!
So for those who aren't fond of the catty yet (though I am still in shock over that! Ü) just wait til you see all the cool ideas everyone is going to come up w/ and then you will find you HAVE to have that set that you thought you would NEVER buy!
Don't believe me????? Just ask Lana...who will tell you there was NO way on EARTH she was going to get the clown set and guess WHO now owns the clown set??????!!!!!!!!! LOL!!

I want to encourage you ladies not to feel guilty about some negative thoughts. Whenever you anticipate something for such a long time your expectations really get built up. And then when your faced with reality it's hard to know what to think. And I think you all are doing a great job of coming around-you just have to get used to all the new stuff. There really is some fantastic stuff in there-give it time, I hope you'll come to love it! There really is some neat stuff in there even if there isn't everything that you had hoped for.
I can understand why people initially have had a bad reaction to the new catalog. I was not all that impressed with my initial look through of last year's catalog. I think that the first thing that struck me about the new catalog is the fact that the images of the stamps are in gray. That may be a large reason why people are having a somewhat negative reaction. I just encourage everyone to keep looking at the catalog and to check out all the new cards that I know people with be posting. I always find that I like sets more and more when I see what other people have done with them.
I will be more positive!
