Default What SU item did you dislike but is now your favorite?

What SU stamp set or accessory did you buy and when you got it did not like it and now, for some reason or another, it is something you cannot live without or is one of your favorites?

For me.....my white craft pad!

For me, its the Rich Regals cardstock. I didn't like the color choices, but they've grown on me and now I love them!

eyelets - loved the look of them, but was afraid to try them. it took me probably six months to do it, and now i use them all the time. it taught me not to be so afraid of embellishments.

Aquapainter. I tried it and HATED it, I loved the blender pens and the control and the aquapainter seemed to hard to use. But then I tried it again and messed with it for a bit and now I LOVE it. Don't like the blender pens so much anymore, I use the aquapainter for everything now. Am I fickle?

In addition to the aforementioned, I now love the Snail adhesive. I preferred the CM tape runner, but after I became a demo I forced myself to use the mono. Now I think it's easier than CM - if it's full. I always try to use a full cartridge for workshops and stamp camps since it flows more smoothly that way.

Buttons, too. I loved the look of them but couldn'tfigure out how to best use them. Now I have to limit them to avoid being repetitive.

In Full Bloom. When I saw it in the catalog I hated it but after using my demos a few times (and seeing alot of samples in the gallery) I love it and use it all the time!

All The Best stamp set. When I first saw it, I said, "Yuck!" Well, I just bought it for a class this Sat. to do Luau pages. I now LOVE it for my Hawaii pages. I like flower sets anyway so what took me so long to come around? Who knows?

Default what su item did you buy and dislike.

for me too it was the craft pads, but I began using them to stamp on walls and fabric and they're great.....I heat set the fabric in my dryer and heat set the walls with my heat gun to set the ink. I wish I had some samples to download but I can't get batteries for my digital camera yet.

I thought $20 was a lot for a pair of scissors. I cut my rubber with lame scissors for the longest time. Now I make sure I sing the praises of the rubber scissors at every workshop.

The slit punch.

When I first got it, I just kept looking at it and thinking I paid too much for something THAT small. Now I love to play with!

The wheels for me too. I need to get the wheel guide, my sister has it and I loved it!

For me it was the paper snips. I though, 'Now why does SU! need to sell plain scissors when you can get those anywhere' but let me tell you I LOVE those little scissors!! THey are perfect for small jobs and have a nice sharp blade! THe tips can even be used for paper punching in a pinch. Great item!!

For me, I'd have to say it's the white craft pad too. I didn't really know what to do with it for a long time...now I really like it and use it all the time. I'm thinking about getting the other colors now too.

Looking back I don't know what I was thinking, but when SU first came out with the 4 color groups, I did not like the brightness & the boldness of Bold Brights. I didn't think the colors were "countrified" enough, and it took me a while to even try out those colors. BOY how my stamping and designs have changed since way back then.

Bold Brights is my favorite color group now.

paint prints.. when i saw it in stampin success.. i was so unimpressed. it was at the bottom of my wish list. then i saw the samples posted a few days after preorders were in.. and went ahead and preordered it. Now, i use it more than anything else! it is one of my faves!

I didn't like Fishy Friends at all when I first saw it. I then had a workshop and the hostess requested Fishy Friends for the M&T's. I didn't own the set so I used hers. Since then I have purchased it, played with it and it's one of my favorites! Of course, seeing all the cute samples on SCS also sold me on it! That has happened with a lot of sets...I initially don't like them and then I see them on here. This place is going to bankrupt me!

I also didn't like the color Green Galore, swore it was the ugliest color I had ever seen and vowed to never use it. Well, needless to say, I now love it!

Mine was a group - the punches.

I liked the shapes but they were so hard to push through - especially the corner rounder. The new handles make punching so easy!

I haven't really figured out how to use my newest one yet - the slit - but I'm searching for ideas and am sure it will be great!

I have two actually. First was the wheel guide. I've been using a thick ruler as a guide for a long time but OOOOHHH BOY! That thing is way better than my ruler.

Secondly, I have two ink pads that I've always had a problem with. Eggplant Envy and Positively Pink. I just found out last week why. Well, the ink color inside the EE is actualy Baroque Burgundy, which I love, just not when I'm expecting EE. And, the Positively Pink is actually Blush Blossom. What are the odds that I somehow got TWO wrong pads? Unfortunately, they are the old style pads.

So, I'll be looking for these two colors, plus Marvelous Magenta, in the old style pads, hint, hint, lol.

Re: "Well, the ink color inside the EE is actualy Baroque Burgundy"

I got an Eggplant Envy Classic Pad (old style) at a used stamps sale and later realized the ink was exactly the same as the Baroque Burgandy pad I got there too. I just figured the previous owner reinked it with the wrong color. It's interesting that you had the same ink mixup!

I would have to say Paint Prints has been my surprise. When I saw it in the SAB catalogue, it was the first one I picked out to NOT choose. After seeing samples it really grew on me and now it is one of my favorites!

I have to say the Crafter's Tool kit, I got it as one of my free hostess benefits after a show because I figure to show =sales, not because I needed, well now I find that I use everything in there quite often. Same thing with the wheel guide, didn't needed but once got it I use it all the time. :?
