Default Best Magazines out there

I am looking to subscribe to a magazine or two. What have you found to be the best for card making or for scrapbooking? Thank you

I used to really like Creating Keepsakes for scrapbooking, but in my opinion they have really gone crazy with what they use for scrapbooking. And the layouts are so busy. So I have switched to Simple Scrapbooks. The layouts are clean and still very creative.

For stamping? I can't pick one. I get Paper Crafts and Stamp It. Stamp It only comes out four times a year.

Oops! you said card making, but it's still the same answers: Paper Crafts and Stamp It.

I like The Rubber Stamper and Stampington's Issues. Their Stamper's Sampler is good too. For scrapping I still Like Memory Makers.

I love Creating Keepsakes, but like someone else mentioned, their layouts can get a bit overwhelming (beautiful though they may be sometimes). I too like Simple Scrapbooks. Currently I don't have a subscription to anything except CM's Lasting Memories (their new publication). I only have one issue so for so it is to early to judge it (CM is know for their more simple layouts).

Default Magazine subscriptions.

I do more stamping and cardmaking than scrapbooking and I think Scrap n Stamp magazine is one of the best - very good instructions and I find a lot of ideas in each issue. I also have a subscription to Rubber stamper and Papercrafts...sometimes I like the issue, sometimes I don't . I don't think I'll be renewing my subscription to those. I always buy the Stamp it magazine - I don't think you can get subscriptions to that one yet. My vote is definately Scrap n Stamp!

(This is my first attempt at posting anything on the site - I hope it works!)

I like Papercrafts, but I would suggest that you buy several different ones at the newstand and you can see which you like. Most of the magazines out are good- it's just a matter of finding one that matches your style. My favorites have changed over the years, as my style has changed. Have fun!

For scrapbooking I think my favorite is Scrapbooks etc. I hadn't seen a mention of this one and think they have great ideas. Love their made in minutes feature (although it does take me more than minutes).

For stamping either Stamp It! or The Rubber Stamper. I just got a subscription to Paper Crafts and loved my first issue. Tons of great ideas in there.

Most of these magazines let you do a trial subscription. You sign up on line and they begin sending you magazines. Then, if you don't like what you see, you write cancel on the bill. I tried a trial subscription of Creating Keepsakes, but I think I'm going to cancel. I agree with what was said earlier here. They seem to be trying so hard to be artsy that the journaling and the beauty of the pictures can get lost in the chaos of so many embellishments. I'm glad I'm not the only one. All the layouts seem to be the same style, rather than offering a variety of styles.

I'm a big fan of Papercrafts. I like that they use a lot of stampin up products in their samples and I like their ideas.

For card making, my favorites are Rubberstamp Madness (more humor than most others who take themselves too seriously like Stamper Sampler) and Rubber Stamper. I do like the Take Tens that come out from Stamper Sampler. Sometimes, I'm all for doing something fast. Not being into scrapbooking, I have no ideas. Kathy

I like Stamp It. They show samples and use SU products with some of them too. Their ideas are easy to apply too.

Does "Scrap N Stamp" or "Stamp It" have a website that I can check out? I just had a newborn and am not getting out too much yet. I would rather browse from the comfort of my home!
Thanks!

I really enjoy Expressions magazine. It may be a tad advanced but the artwork is beautiful and I enjoy working with projects from there.

For scrapbooking, my favorites are Simply Scrapbooks and Paper Kuts. I'm with the majority in that I like Creating Keepsakes, but find I flip through it a lot faster because I don't like that very busy style with $10 worth of embellishments on each page. Paper Kuts tends to be nice and clean like Simple Scrapbooks and has some really great layouts.

For card making, I really like Paper Crafts and Stamp It.

The only one I wouldn't recommend is Memory Makers. I got a two year subscription, and it's been a waste of money. They have only had one issue that had any ideas I liked.

Simple Scrapbooks is my favorite for scrapbooking.

I also recomend two awesome books, Creative Sketches for Scrapbooking by Becky Higgins and Scrapbooking with Lisa Bearson. They can both be found on the creating keepsakes website.

Stamp It is my choice for cards/projects.

I don't know if it is still around but I used to buy it in the store and never had a subscription to it but a great one for stamped card ideas...Stamper's Sampler. The cards in it are beautiful and some very easy to make. I love Paperkuts and CK and Scrapbooks etc. for scrapbooking ideas. Another good one is Simple Scrapbooks.

My favorite is Simply Sentiments. You'll see SU examples there. Good techniques and a staffer who writes poems each month that are very good and suitable for cards & scrapbooks. It's a newer magazine! Check out www.simplysentiments.com
