I've been watching & hesitent to join, unsure if you would mind a SCS 'newbie' in here or not --- but since I'm still currently doing alot more textile work than stamping work (I just recently got back into stamping after some years 'away' from it) --- I would *love* to do this swap!!!
Could I possibly get two spots? I'd like to do a machine-embroidered little quilted wall hanging for one spot -- and I'm trying to narrow it down for the 2nd, got a dozen different things I'd love to do & I just have to pick out the best one!
I hope I can join - this sounds like such a fantastic swap!

Hey, we were all newbies at one time or other and look what happened to us!
Welcome to the fun. So what machine are you using for embroidery? I bought a Babylock a couple years ago and have yet to do more than a few projects on it, just never enough time but I love it!

This is a great place for a "newbie" to start - this particular group of women are all so very nice! They come up with amazing swap ideas, their chat threads never fail to start my day with a smile, and they are REALLY talented. Welcome to Splitcoast Swaps! Ann Marie

Hi Susan! are you member of Ravelry? If so, try this link: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sear...&query=pumpkin
there are some adorable patterns there - a pumpkin tp cover, pumpkin potholders, precious little crocheted and knitted pumpkins, lots more . . .
If you're not a member (not sure them if you canget into the site) , I can print a couple of the patterns out for you and snail mail them your way.
I am "BfloKnit" on Ravelry if they do let you look around as a guest.

The crocheters on Ravelry are a magnificently talented group and those of us who "only" knit are quite jealous of their beautiful work! Look under "Groups" - I know there's several dedicated to crochet.

I tried to crochet once.. I tell you. I can makde the worlds best chain Never got into knitting or crocheting. I never wear sweaters or scarves or use anything yarn related so i guess I do not have a big reason to learn. I did figure out one of my spots though. Just need to make a stop at Goodwill or Arc and look for a few things

I am coming out there at the end of June for my mom's 80th birthday, Jen. And my sisters, mom, daughter and I always hit up the Goodwill/ARC. In fact, my sister just emailed me to tell me she just mailed me a box of finds from there.
And of course I have to hit Archivers while there.

Thanks!
I have a Janome 9500 that I absolutely adore! They have newer models out now, but I don't see any need to 'upgrade' - my little girl does everything I want her to do & more! I digitize my own designs sometimes - and *love* the stuff from Embroidery Library (emblibrary.com) - if you're not already familiar with them, you need to check them out! Gorgeous designs, great sales all the time, and the projects section of their site is wonderful. Along w/ her, I have 2 older workhorse Kenmores - one early 1970-ish, another 1960-ish models -- from back when they were 100% solid metal. Just basic stitches, but those babies will just about sew through cast iron - I love the older Kenmores! My serger is a Janome also.
I'm still trying to figure out what I want to make for my second spot. Wow, there are so many wonderful items listed already - I'm trying to come up with something totally different, that hopefully everyone would enjoy.
I totally second Bflo's recommendation of Ravelry!! I can't knit but I've crocheted all my life - I love love love Ravelry!!! There is a LOT more for crocheters there than it might seem to begin with. I've got a few of my own patterns there (free ones, just a few very simple amigurumi) if you'd like to take a peek & grab them. My username there is ferretlady

I want school over so I can sew. I have had a hard year and I didn't teach sewing so I haven't really sewn for almost a year. I love to sew. My niece had a baby girl today and called and ask for a blessing dress so I guess I need to get busy. My projects are cut out ready to go.

Oh my, thanks for the great links and tips, and I'll have to find you on ravelry too. I'm on there as the same name, StampinGoodDeeds if you friend me. I'm probably only on once every couple weeks though as I have far too much going on of late it seems and never get to go out and check and just browse much!!! I keep waiting for things to slow down a bit and it seems like a freight train that keeps picking up speed! Yikes!

Did someone say "knit"? Lol... It's been on my list of things to do for such a long time. I can knit, just only beginner and I adore those fabulous knitted things with cables, etc. I'll have to hop onto Ravelry and look for you ladies!

Good morning to you too!
Yes, knit. I want to learn how to do it too but can't really find a close place with classes. I know I do better with classes than online. Besides, isn't that half the fun of those? Socializing?

I have finished one of my three spots! 3 day weekend coming up means 3 days of uninterrupted quilting, cannot wait. Gotta get those other two spots finished up, then I can work on the tags for all.

The sewing is the easy part for me....it's the creating the tags and dragging out all of the stamping supplies is the issue for some reason. Once quilting took over my life, I put stamping on the back burner. I joined this site to inspire me to continue my stamping and use the supplies I have invested in. So far, it's working. Most weekends I have ink on my fingers now!!!

I get five days off (including this weekend) and then start May 30 teaching from 8-noon children with sever disabilities. I have done this for the past twenty summers and love it. Keep saying that this year will be the last, but then there are always new students I want to work with!! There is talk of a strike this year and just in case I cannot get out of it, I know we'll definitely need the extra money.
Am definitely going to spend each day this summer working on my physical mobility and strength - getting ready for next school year!!....and the rest of my life!!

I am offically finished with my school year. I need to do some filing and I may paint one wall of my room. I have a week conference in June and several 1/2 day workshops. They are all here in town so it won't be too hard. One day of my week conference is a quilting class-I may really learn how to to do scalloped binding. My classes are fun with cooking and sewing demos and hands on classes. I have a ton to do that I put off until this weekend. I think my summer is going to be busier. I had 2 weddings of nieces yesterday . I have a blessing dress to sew for a nieces baby. I also have wedding flowers to do for 2 weddings the end of June. My grandson will be here the month of July so I'll be back and forth to Cedar City. We also have 2 family reunions in the northern part of the state- mom and dad are both in charge of their's this year. I do have a box I'm putting stuff in for them(fishing pond, raffle items, craft projects Etc.) Maybe the first week of August I can relax. I need to run now to my nephew's birthday party.
